This shop offers an excellent selection of yarn and other treasures for fiber artists. Everyone is very helpful. I've gone in for advice when I simply could not see a solution and one of r he owners took her time to help me over the hump. The classes are also incredible. I haven't taken any of the knitting classes because the needle felting are my favorites. Lauren is an excellent teacher! If you have an opportunity to learn from Lauren and the other class members, I highly recommend it. read more

The owner was showing our class yarn from Germany. Name of company sounds l8ke Ya Vol. So after she told us about the wool, she said Ya Vol and held her arm up like the Nazi salute. I told her I was offended and she denied doing it and said it didn't mean anything. I, then, wrote her a long text telling her that it's bad enough what she did, but her response to it was awful. So her daughter then called me to tell me that her mom wouldn't do that and then told me they will walk on eggshells around me since no one is allowed to raise their arm. She then hung up on me. Great way to treat a customer, smh. Needless to say, I will never go back there. read more

I cannot say enough about TKE. I already knew how to crochet and went there to learn how to knit. I did not expect my crocheting would also improve. The staff is really awesome and I love my classes! They are so knowledgeable about yarns (I never realized how much I didn't know about yarn!) and patterns. The pricing on the yarn is reasonable for the quality. If your looking to knit a shawl this is your place. 95% of any insipiration pieces are shawls. Large selection of light weight yarns, not a great depth of other weights. A store geared for an older customer. Lots of people working in the store and if they speak with you very pleasant but they don't ask if your looking for something etc unless you seem to be one of their regulars. I've been here twice and travelled over an hour to shop because of the size of the store hoping i'd find a new project to work on and left with a small project bag and a little lot to make a dishcloth. Doing a really good job with covid rules and everyone seems to be abiding by them, masks distancing and they have hand sanitizer at the entrance. read more

The Mecca of all yarn shops. My daughter goes to college in Allentown and we discovered the Knitter's Edge in the fall of her sophomore year. I'm sorry we didn't find it sooner. This wonderful store beats out every other yarn shop I've ever experienced. So much amazing yarn. Such nice people. So many terrific samples. No trip to visit my daughter would be complete without a stop (or two) at TKE. Although I live in KY and have several great LYS, they pale in comparison to the jewel that is The Knitter's Edge. This store is fabulous!!!!! Seriously, knitting nirvana. If you are a yarn ho you will fall in love. Most classes are six dollars. Yup, six bucks! The knitting/seating area is gorgeous with numerous couches and a divan. The Knitters Edge boasts a tremendously thorough yarn selection with a superior staff. You can get any and all help from this first rate yarn shop. I drive about 45 mins to get there but it's worth every mile. Highly recommended from this yarn store junkie. Enjoy! read more

Almost enough to make me move back home! I love, love, love this store. It's huge and lush with high-end fiber choices. Staff members are helpful and really go out of their way to help you find the right yarn, color, pattern, project, etc. They have a rewards program too, which is nice. I've never taken a class there so cannot speak to that side of things. If I lived in the area I certainly would take something now and then. As it is, I save up my yarn budget and make a trip to TKE whenever my travels take me to the Lehigh Valley. read more

TKE is my favorite destination yarn store, I happily make the hour drive several times a year. The store is huge with an immense inventory of quality yarns, notions, bags, needles, etc and there are samples galore. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the store offers free WiFi for Ravelry consultation. There is a sitting area full of sofas and natural light and at least 6 classrooms. There is always something going on and the buzz is palpable. It is just such a joy to be surrounded by yarnies who share your passion. The owner writes a weekly customer newsletter that is full of store news, pattern suggestions and local doings and I find it really makes me feel part of the community. TKE bills itself as the largest yarn store on the East Coast and I believe it, but they make me feel like the most valued customer they have every time I am there. read more

We drove 2 hours to go to this store and it was worth it. Had a great selection , fair prices and buyer rewards program too . Plenty of helpful staff and love the glass room . Had my 2 grandsons with me , who were balls of energy after the long ride . Staff was very nice and engaged the boys in conversation . Excellent source for all things knitting. Nina helped me with some distressing dropped stitches! I felt so relieved! While I was there I bought some gorgeous Madeline Tosh Vintage Arctic Blue to knit a cowl for my daughter. Convenient location in center of town. Classes looked well attended and quite lively. I drove over 2 hours to check this place out and honestly had no idea what to expect. As soon as I walked in it was like yarn heaven! The staff was so friendly and willing to help. They had a huge yarn selection... I could have looked for hours. Tons of notions to choose from, project bags etc. Amazing seating area! Rewards program too which was a nice bonus. This is possibly one of the finest yarn shops I've ever been in. The Vogue Knitting review doesn't do it justice, it's that good. First of all it is quite large for the East Coast. Second of all they carry yarn at all price points, the weakest link being decorative yarns. Thirdly all of the samples are clearly labeled with all the details a shoppper would need. Fourth, the staff is very accomodating and knowledgeable. They have a super newsletter, which I now get. They have many more classes and promotions than any other shop. The Knitters Edge is one of the best knitting stores I have ever been too! I found the store by googling knitting stores near Bethlehem, PA since I was visiting my family there. I ended up finding a class on their website on Fair Isle hat and called the store to sign up. The women I spoke to was very nice and gave me a good description of the class. They even emailed me homework I had to do before the class (which was very easy) and were willing to help me with the homework if I had any questions. The knitting teacher, Linda, was fabulous! I got a lot of one-on-one attention since there were only 8 of us in the class. The class cost only $15 for four hours too which was a steal! One of the owners, Amanda, was also in my class and was super helpful with any questions I had about how to make the Fair Isle hat. All the staff is great and very friendly! They greet you as soon as you walk in and help you find yarns/other knitting supplies if needed! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is interested in knitting and crocheting. In fact, I am looking forward to signing up for another class when I visit my family again! read more
