The frozen beverages are delicious!
Chelsea R.

This is the ultimate place to be when the weather is warm to bask in the sunshine and get a sweet tan! Myself and a friend ventured on over here after dining at one of the neighboring restaurants on Lake Carolyn. You walk into the Omni and down a set of stairs then you will see the pool that faces the waterfront. They have a cute lawn where you can play fun outdoor games (props for the LIFE SIZE Connect Four!) and lounge out while watching the gondola peeps glide along the water. This is also a superb spot to watch a Texas sunset! The bar/lounge area has very fun and sweet bartenders and they have their own menu. My friend and I wanted try the breakfast tamale so we grabbed that to share along with some frozen drinks! Try the froze it will rock your world. We sat out there quite a while and chatted it up with folks then went by the pool. Call to double check but roughly $30 will get you a pool day pass so you can get prime tanning real estate. Otherwise just sit at the bar and veg out or watch a game on the TVs! Had so much fun on a random Sunday exploration! See you soon!!

It also has a little known coffee shop called Over The Counter that is a nice hole-in-the-wall that is a perfect place to grab a nice cup of coffee and view of Lake Caroyln. This review is for Over The Counter. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Coffee, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Over The Counter to the right of the check-in desk within the Omni Hotel. This coffee shop is a hidden gem because of the amazing views of Lake Carolyn and the Omni Hotel pool. This is a great spot if you're looking for a place to work while waiting for your Uber to head to the airport. The seats against the window have power outlets to charge your devices. It's quiet, not to busy, and even if you're not staying at the Omni Hotel a great place to grab a cup of coffee. Service - The Omni Hotel staff is very nice. Like most coffee shops, you'll place your order, customize it, and a barista will expertly craft your cup of coffee. On my visit, they asked what kind of milk I wanted (2%), and when I needed help with the Wi-Fi, they were super helpful in getting me online. 1 Star. Coffee - The coffee is nice and strong. My iced latte was smooth and had me buzzing. I had to sip it to ensure I prep for my meeting. I can't stress how awesome it is to enjoy a dup of coffee in a nice setting with an amazing view. My only minor feedback is that Over The Counter is in a the Omni Hotel, so expect to pay a little extra. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Now that I've discovered Over the Counter, I can imagine myself coming here on occasion to do work or conduct professional meetings. If you're staying at the Omni Hotel in Las Colinas, you should stop by. 1 Star.

They have a pretty good selection of beers and of liquors (I presume wine, too, but I didn't check). While there are "bourbon bars" with a wider bourbon selection or "gin bars" with a wider gin selection, they have an above average selection of each, and they don't charge absurd up charges for choosing the liquor you like. The bartender is very polite. There's ample seating at the bar, and you can also take your drink to some loungy-er chairs in the nearby part of the hotel lobby. All in all, a solid bar.

You walk in and the bar is to your right. It was about 6 and no one was at the bar. There was a group of guys discussing something over drinks in the lounge area but that was about it. The bartender came right up to my boyfriend and I. I told the bartender my boyfriend had never been to Texas so we tried out essentially every tap by sampling which was nice that he offered that up. After we tried each beer we decided on some options. The bartender went back to texting in the corner and we sat at the bar listening to the music playing in the open concept lobby/bar area We eventually took over the seating area that group was in because the couches looked more cozy than the bar. The happy hour advertised is not a thing anymore, they now have reverse happy hour from 9-10. The beers weren't too expensive as our tab was only $13 which I doable. The bartender disappeared from the bar for a fair amount of time which made me anxious because I used to be a bartender, I guess he trusted we wouldn't leave without paying. He didnt come check on us to see if we needed another beer but that was ok I guess. I went back up to the bar to cash out and that was that. This bar is good for a quick drink but I wouldn't probably go for a top notch bar experience.

I knew then we should probably cancel our order but the boyfriend was convinced it's impossible to ruin pancakes. Well, he admitted he was wrong by the end. Pancakes were hard, bacon tasted so weird, potatoes were hard and I couldn't even manage to swallow them. I gave up. He consumed less than half of it and we went somewhere else after paying $30 for one entree and two coffees. He's way too nice because there's no way I was forking over any money for this sorry mess. Server / ¿owner? did nothing to remedy when I told her it was inedible. Highly recommend staying far away from this place but the pic explains all.

My server God bless her heart was one of the only servers because it is a Wednesday but she did a wonderful job! I ordered a London Mule (Moscow mule w/ Gin) and it was flavorful with a kick! Not as bubbly as I would like but they brought the LIKKKAAAA I ordered the wings with two sides of salad because I didn't feel like eating too heavy late at night and the wings did not let me down I got the plain with a site of hot sauce and enjoyed every bit; I also enjoyed my fresh chopped salad. They will still receive a perfect score from me not because the environment was perfect but for an unexpected Wednesday night where they're low staffed and were bombarded with 50 runners they absolutely made it work; even when concerns came up they found a way to make the consumer happy and accommodate them. Only suggestions I have is to lower the music a tad to allow conversations and to provide a limited menu upfront if it's a night where a few items are not available. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this spot and will be back for Brunch!
