We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday (today) and had a great experience. Our service was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. They had quite a few lunch specials which all sounded great! We started with a glass of dry rose from a local winery (they had quite a few locals on the list). It was a good pour and tasted perfect. We both opted for lunch specials. My husband had a beef and cheddar melt on sourdough with horseradish sauce on the side and chip. I opted for the turkey club wrap with ranch in the side and fries. We each like meld our own means as well as each other's. We sat on the patio overlooking the lake. A perfect day for it too. They had tons of out doors eating and the place looked like it would be hopping in the summer! I can't wait to come back and hang out at the lower bar. Bonus: Otis the chocolate lab basked in the sun while we enjoyed our afternoon.

My experience at Lakeside was a mixed bag! My family was staying at a house right next door and we made our way over for dinner on a Monday evening. The views of the lake are lovely and there's options to sit outside or inside. Bonus: they do allow dogs throughout most of the restaurant! Our server was also so lovely, fast, and efficient. My margarita was par for the course for a restaurant of this kind. Why the two stars then? The prices, the food, and the vibe. My burger was dry and well done, though promised medium, and lacked any seasoning or flavor. The bun was also dry and something you would get at Tops, all for $14. There were other things on the menu, but the prices were so exorbunent for what I knew would be super mediocre food. They pretty much have a monopoly on the west side of the lake in terms of sit down dinner, so people will continue to come to this restaurant based on the fact that there's simply nothing else available, unless you go up to Penn Yan or down to Hammondsport. Overall, I would advise folks to cook at home rather than spend a small fortune for food that is subpar.

The food is great. Loved the salmon salad. The home made chips are great. Server did not know we were her table so the Service was not as good as last time, but It was okay and the server was very friendly. The view from the deck can not be beat.

Fish Fry

Nice casual restaurant in the area! Located right on the water and overlooking the hillside, the view is beautiful. There's spacious seating inside and outside, with large tables for large groups. The menu has a variety of options from spicy noodles, to burgers, to pasta dishes, to salads, to salmon. Prices greatly vary based on the complexity of the dish, but they're all reasonable. I ordered the special of the day which was a fish fry. My dish came with a huge fish fry, breaded nice and crispy. On the side were crispy fries, horseradish, and coleslaw. It was all delicious and the portion sizes definitely filled me up. The fish was very tender, melting in your mouth, and the breading had a great seasoned flavor. Our waitress was also excellent and very attentive, especially for a group of 11. She brought everything over at once and came by periodically to check in and fill up our water glasses. Great dinner experience!

We will most likely come back and the food was good but overall the service was disappointing at best. You'll find the place has great atmosphere with two large outside decks along with inside seating and a gorgeous view of the lake. On Fridays we found that they had a band which might be each week and were treated and seated promptly. They serve various wines and beers so my wife and I ordered Dr Frank's while we looked at the menu and heard the specials. My wife decided on Grouper and I ordered the butcher block special - Delmonico steak. For appetizers a ceaser salad and shrimp cocktail were in order. A few minutes later the appetizers came out and both were delectable. The salad had fresh anchovies and the shrimp cocktail were large with good cocktail sauce. Here comes the first issue. It could not have been even 10 minutes and our entrees showed up! In fact we were still eating them and the kid the delivered the plates was asking us to move plates. With them aside we both took our first bite of the fish and steak. Overall the entres were delicious and hot, so clearly they were fresh from the kitchen which was good. I thought about asking for steak sauce but fortunately for me I changed my mind. We both enjoyed our meal but never saw our waitress until we both completed our meals. While they were busy they weren't swamped so not sure what happened to her. When she did finally show up, she asked how the food was which we said was good but also offered her our perspective on how quickly the entrees showed up. She promptly talked over me so we decided it wasn't worth asking where the heck she had been the entire meal. Overall I would say we will give this place a second try but the wait staff clearly need help.

Porch seating

Can't say enough good stuff about the Lakefront! We had trouble getting reservations elsewhere for our group of ten, but they were able to seat us when we called. It was freezing weather, so our porch seats ended up being too cold, and they moved us inside. So accommodating!! The service was above reproach. And the food? My filet was like butter, and the crab cakes were a hit. Everything was fabulous, and were even treated to rainbows over the lake!

Chicken Wings - Garlic Parm

This dockside tavern with an expansive deck, two or three of them in fact, makes for a very nice spot for a casual lunch and beer on a hot Summer day. The service was pleasant, if a bit sporadic, there seemed to be far too many tables assigned to each of the staff; and its a sizeable run back to the kitchen from the outdoor seats themselves. The food was quite a bit better than I was expecting. The menu of Pub style snacks, sandwiches and burgers was executed very well. In fact, every thing we ordered was well cooked and served quickly and hot. It was also a substantial amount of food, I was not able to come close to cleaning a plate. This is not a place you're likely to leave hungry from. My favorite dish of the day was and order of the Garlic Parm Chicken Wings. Generously oversized chicken drumsticks and flats were deep fried a dark and crispy, oaky brown, covered and coated in a powdered garlic and butter sauce, and topped with fine shaved slices of an aged Parmesan. Satisfyingly good indeed. A-

Food was mediocre at best, service was nonexistent after food was delivered. The only saving grace was the view.

Head in with the right expectations and you won't be disappointed. Go for the atmosphere, not the marked up and just acceptable food.

Depending on…read moreweather, temperature, and time of day some of the options may be uncomfortable, so choose based on when you go. I was in the dining room because it was a little chilly outside. Glad of it because when we were leaving we noticed there were mosquitoes outside. Cocktail: Toucan with bourbon, orange, pineapple, simply syrup, lemon. Delicious! Non-alcoholic: They also had a black tea and lemonade which I got to be less sweet, it's as expected. They have different flavors and I'm not sure which one they gave me. Went here specifically because Chef Cruz is there this summer. So I can only speak to his menu. My group had: The calamari salad with lemon vinaigrette, herbs, cucumber. This has a fresh, bright flavor. This is on a bed of greens. (Sometimes seafood salad is just the seafood) I would get this again. The chicken empanadas with spicy lime aioli had a nice flavor and crunch. Both the filling and dough were nice. I typically spring for a beef empanada, but after these chicken ones, I'll try getting chicken in the future. The burrata & cantaloupe with arugula, pistachios, balsamic, EVOO was very tasty. Given the size and proportion, it's more like a fruit and nut salad with a side of burrata. The house salad with orange honey vinaigrette, fennel, cucumber has a very nice flavor and is good on its own, but kind of redundant with the other salad-forward apps that we chose. The clam toast with bacon, white wine, parsley was very good. There's only two small pieces of toast, which were a little too charred to fully eat, but the clams and broth were very nice. You should ask for a spoon if you really like the broth. I just scooped the broth using the little clam shells. The chipotle chicken wings (special for the day) were very good. The chicken was tender and "fell off the bone." The wings were coated with a good amount of sauce with some heat to them. There was a green aioli dip to cut the heat. Dessert - got the chocolate panna cotta, which was more of a large chocolate pudding in a glass. Not like other panna cotta I've tried. Our server was great. I'm not sure of her name, but she was efficient and attentive. Definitely worth a visit if you are close by this summer!

But food unfortunately was rather disappointing. Burger was very basic and really not nicely presented, with just a slice of tomato and onion (I asked w/o onion, but everything else). Fries were great and the wine was good. Steak was disappointing, not a good cut, very chewy. For an elevated price point, food has to be better. Service was good, except for the mixup (onion/lettuce), everyone was very friendly and everything was served in a timely manner.

We specifically went back for the prime rib after reading someone mention how they prepared it just the way they liked -- we both ordered it seared and it was honestly the best prime rib I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and mouth watering. The prices were very reasonable, the portions were just right, and nothing felt overdone or pretentious. Also, don't skip the fried cheese curds -- they were amazing. If you're anywhere near the area, The Decoy is absolutely worth a stop (or two).
