The job get handed over to a project manager (Mile or Dave). When working with any landscape company, be aware of the pros and cons. First of all, be aware that this company will execute, not really design for you. And execution style is dependent on the workers - who lack designing background. For example- they wanted to install the edging on the right side of my garden in a circular fashion. Which looks totally terrible, and makes the green grass area way smaller. I happen to see it and ran out to halt them to redo the edging the right way. - details of what we talked about were left out. If you want the job done right, you had to be there to supervise here and there, just like any other companies out there. - we wanted our walkway installed in a sway manner and they installed it in a zig zag pattern (shown in pic 2). Shannon even tries to sell us that we can place planter boxes in the gaps. Who would place planter boxes between the grass and walkway? Not to mention, during winter time when it snows, u have no idea where to shovel... So in the end, the came by the following year to redo the pavers (we decided to straighten it out as the company obviously couldn't make the walkway curve). During this time, I even had to argue with the paver guy. He felt that it was ridiculous that the right side of the paver would run into the garage wall. This was all after we had an agreement with Shannon. I told him to call her to talk it out. - fast forward 2 years- when they installed the paver, they slopped it down towards the garage. Now that there is a great downpour, our garage wall is seeping with water. I understand that maybe this wasn't taken into account for when it was first built, so I asked for Shannon to come out to reevaluate. She has cancelled a 10 min meeting with me 3 times now. First time reason: - picking up plants. Second time reason: - equipment issue Third time reason: - sick (which is indeed true) Edit to add: But a few days later, we managed to meet up once she is feeling better. We talked about the paver and drainage situation. Shannon will have her team come by to elevate the right side of the paver and make sure that the drain tile along the side of the garage extends all the way to the corner of the garage. Work will be covered by the initial project's warranty. Overall, there were a few bumps along the way but the end result is a gorgeous backyard, can't ask for anything better. Will place addendum with updates when the project is finally completed.

What they accomplished was a functional, enjoyable, and esthetically pleasing outdoor entertainment area seamlessly flowing from indoors to outdoors. UE incorporated large boulders, an intricate waterfall feature, fire pit, and multiple levels of enjoyable outdoor living that will be enjoyed for years to come. UE's design, site plan, and construction crews kept both of us informed every step of the way. They listened to our ideas and brought them to life. We are beyond thrilled by what they were able to accomplish on budget and on time.

Even though I garden on my own, I felt the scope of the project and the expertise needed to complete it was above my skill set. I called Harvest Moon to consult with them about my project. From the beginning I knew they would be easy to work with and have good ideas, beyond what I'd even originally envisioned. They also were open to letting me be a part of the labor, as they knew I was interested in using their services as a learning experience.
