This is without a doubt, one of my favourite late night destinations in Bristol. It's so much more than a bowling alley. The alley itself is a modern take on an old school 50s American bowling alley. You can pay by the hour (I think it's about £30) and you can squeeze in as many people or games as you want. It's got a real Big Lebowski feel about it and of course you can get your obligatory White Russian cocktail form the bar. The bar is really well stocked and there's a great cocktail menu, though it doesn't come cheap - at least a fiver a cocktail. They usually have bands and DJs there at the weekend and there is even a karaoke room available for hire, a comedy club and accommodation upstairs. There is also a sometimes awkwardly placed pool table and a small beer garden, which sometimes hosts BBQs.

Fun venue in the city centre. Not massive so good atmosphere. Bar well stocked with different beers, so a good stop for a few dirnks. Private karaoke room looked interesting! Courtyard will be a winner in the summer

The Lanes is a bar, music venue, American-style diner and bowling alley all rolled into one. There's even a karaoke room out the back, available for private hire. The bowling is reasonably priced and if you go in during the day there is often no wait for a lane. In case you do have to wait, there are plenty of other things to keep you occupied, including pool tables, a foosball table and an old two-player arcade machine. There are plenty of events going on at the weekends and there's a small stage to the side of the bowling lanes used for gigs. The sound isn't great, but it's more about the vibe of this place. There's also a vintage fair held occasionally on Sundays, with a permanent vintage shop open during the week. Check it out.

A fun place. Very nice! So different from bowling in other countries. The atmosphere is just very relaxing. Classic!

The drinks weren't as good as I expected but other than that I would recommend coming here. Such nice decorations as well you really did feel like you were there when getting your food. Some of the standout items for me came from the Indian station, including dishes like dahi bhalla, Amritsari fish (breaded fish, which was much more flavorful than the fish and chips at the Great British station), tandoori naan, dal tadka, vegetable korma, aloo gobi, rogan josh, and chicken tikka masala, all of which were boldly and authentically spiced. Other items I liked included the reggae wings (jerk chicken wings) from Jamaica; the pico de gallo, guacamole, and smoked salsa from Mexico; and the soft-serve vanilla ice cream from the dessert station. Still there were so many other items that I barely got to try including Thai Green Curry with Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, British beef stew and mushy peas, and several made-to-order stations including dosas, piri-piri chicken, pasta, risotto, and noodles. Everything was quality and delicious, the night market atmosphere was fun and lively, and most amazingly, the buffet was just 13 GBP for a weekday lunch! That's not even enough for a single entree elsewhere in Britain, but here you could get plate after plate of foods from all around the world to your heart's content!

They sell burgers and wings etc and I love that you get kitchen roll on the table. They get 3 stars because I feel they need to work on their food a bit. When I sat down I got a doors and was given some complimentary popcorn. They have blue moon on draft as well as the doors and some other American beers in bottles. The menu is your typical American style restaurant, burgers, Philly cheese steaks, hot dogs, fries and chicken wings. I opted for the Philly cheese steak and some fries. This is where it goes wrong a bit, the bread was cheap cheap cheap, really fluffy and over dry and breaking up, I'd go so far as to say it may have been day old bread.... The steak was tough and overlooked but the flavour itself was quite nice. The chips were good and I was given a bit pit of Mayo. My waitress was a wee star, I just thought she was brilliant at her job and she gave brilliant customer service and she's the reason for 3 rather than 2 stars, I would have given 4 but I want to give them something to work towards, as the food must be as good as the customer service. I would return again but would have no hesitation sending back if I had the same bread issues again. They should really think of getting a local baker to produce their bread rather than buying bulk from the catering supplier.

The ribs, pulled pork, and brisket were excellent. One downside: someone needs to give them a better Cole slaw recipe. It is not good--nothing but cabbage and mayo. Add a little vinegar and pepper to make it bearable. Also the music might have been a little loud, but I am an old guy.

With prices like that it's unsurprising that this is a bit of a student haunt, at least on the night I went along anyway. The Bristol uni hordes manage to fill up the three rooms and garden out the back, creating a proper buzz on a Friday night. They also make a long queue, which combined with the five pounds asked for some nights makes this place slightly less attractive that it otherwise would be. That the only criticism I can think of is because this place is popular should tell you that you won't be disappointed by a night out at Bunker.

On the other side I have been severely let down in the past. I will explain...... Situated near Clifton Triangle and Park Street, The Bunker nightclub is open 6 nights a week with drinks starting from £1, popular DJ's, 3 rooms and a very large smoking garden. The queuing can be quite ridiculous so make sure you do not get there to late. Music ranges from chart music to dance and drum and bass with a raised seating area and large dance floor. The toilets are fairly small so expect a queue. On one particular night, they had let in far too many people on the venues legal capacity resulting in a 'power cut', which then the venue turned very much into 'a war bunker' with emergency lighting and scared people. Magically all the staff swiftly disappeared and there was literally no-one to tell us what was happening. Everyone started to pile towards the stairs to leave and no joke I was almost crushed to death and £5 out of pocket from the entrance fee. I was not happy!
