Took my laptop in yesterday (2/29). I had a problem with the AC jack, a part had fallen out of it years ago and I was finally attempting to revive it. I brought it in, and right away the owner could see what the problem was. I got a text later that day saying that it would be available the next day (3/1). I texted back in the early afternoon confirming if it was ready and it was! Obviously, whether your laptop is ready the next day depends on what you need to fix it and whether or not they have the part for it. If I have any future laptop or computer issues, The Laptop Experts will be the first place I go. A very good first impression. read more

In my opinion do not use this place for cell phones. I took my phone in to have it repaired due to a heating issue. The technician said he put in new parts. When I picked up the phone it had the exact same issue. I had already paid him $250 to fix my phone and could not get my money back. I had to take it to a different cell phone repair place that said the new parts were never installed. In fact it just needed a new battery. read more

I've been to three different computer repair places. This particular place was the worst. I was quoted between 125 and $175 maximum to recover the data on a portable hard drive. I dropped off my hard drive to this company and they said they would let me know by the end of the day. At the end of the day Friday I received a call from James who said the hard drive is no good it's non-retrievable so it would cost a $45 diagnostic fee. On Monday I received a text message from James indicating good news your hard drive can be fixed and it should cost anywhere from $250-$280. I went to his store the laptop experts he said the program is still running and he's not sure if it can be retrieved. He said that it's possible but he doesn't know for sure. I asked him if he could see the data on the hard drive and he says no the programs not done yet, so I wouldn't be able to tell if it could be retrieved or not, I was kind of thrown off because he sent me a text message with the above information. Miscommunication from the very start with this company I would not recommend this company. These are my own words. I feel I got ripped off and taken advantage of... James said he would fix short circuit on my laptop motherboard and replace my charger . He fixed the short But I needed 135 watt charger. When I showed up he tried to give me is 60 watt!! My computer said I'm using an uncompatible charger and he said that was fine!? I said this will cause me problems in future and I'm not ok with it. So he takes is charger back and takes his charger$ 10 off. I was charged $270 to solder the short and use a Air can to clean out laptop. Plus $45 for diagnostics which didn't go towards the repair $315 total And left with no charger. Rip off. Bad business read more

I needed a new 4 Pin Molex to SATA Power Cable since mine (black ESATA plastic cover) broke. I didn't want to go far away and order online so I tried the local stores. None of them (e.g., PCS HQ a few doors down in the same building) would give me one except The Laptop Experts. A guy came out right away after entering the lobby. I showed him my old broken one. He went into the backroom and had a spare one to sell. I looked and agreed to buy it. Quick and easy to get a simple part from a store. Thank you! I will return if I need another one badly. They fixed my HP laptop that was about a year old that failed to turn on apparently after an update. Fee seemed a bit steep but they fixed it within 24-hours so I'm happy. The technician was patient and knowledgeable when explaining the issue. read more

I dropped my Apple Pro Mac Book for repair. I waited almost 3 weeks for a call and was quoted $700. I didn't read the bottom of the receipt, where it had a 30 day policy. If you don't pickup your item within 30 days they aren't responsible. I never got a follow up call and after the 30 days, they somehow had it recycled. It has an additional comment that if it's stored, there is a storage fee. I asked the storage fee and he was so smug and said I think it was recycled. It may be at my house or here in storage. I'm not sure. He later found it and now wants $200, to put it back together. I wish I would've read the reviews. This guy is a swindler and shady. He has a horrible attitude, after he gets your business. How did a $100 fee, turn into a $1200 loss. He's a cheat and liar. read more

My work laptop screen cracked from the inside (without external scratches) but only made half of the screen visible and functioning. I brought it to the Laptop Experts and James was very kind and patient to explain the process of needing to inspect the issue, order a new screen, and then replace it. I called to get my external drive formatted, and the quote was $30-$40. When I picked it up, he charged me $70. When I said the phone quote was $30-$40, he said that he was talking about the diagnostics. So basically I got totally screwed by him. I will NOT be going back ever. I recommend that if you do go there, get it all in writing PRIOR to leaving it with him. And MAKE him call you if it is going to be more. read more

Great service and fantastic price! I was nearing the end of a big project when my screen partially disappeared. I was in a panic as I needed my computer to finish this high priority job. The Laptop Experts local, so I brought my computer to them. I explained my dilemma to James Shin. He immediately told me there could be one of four things wrong. After leaving a small deposit, I parted with my computer. James called about 30 minutes later, and explained the problem with my computer, gave me a final price and asked if I wanted him to finish the repair. Of course, I agreed! I brought my laptop in because the video was not showing up when I was zooming. James looked at the computer for about 10 minutes. I paid $45 for that, and then he said he would need to spend more time on it. About 3 hours later I picked up my laptop and paid another $75. James said there were some software issues that he had to download but now it was fixed. Here it is 3 weeks later and it was doing the exact same thing. My daughter saw the problem and pointed out she had the same problem, as she had a similar HP laptop. She showed me that there is an aperture opening and closing of the camera right at the top of the screen. Voila, as soon as we opened the aperture, the video camera was working. There was no software issue, just opening the aperture was all that was necessary. Apparently when I open my laptop I accidently had closed the aperture. When I returned my laptop to James and showed him what the problem was he denied that was the problem and insisted it was a software problem. However, the key that shows he was untruthful is that he NEVER showed the aperture opening and closing to me. He did not test the aperture by opening or closing when I brought it in. He was very defensive and not really reasonable about what he had done. I asked specifically what he had done and he said he would have to look at his notes. I would not bring my laptop here as James is NOT honest or trustworthy. He is a nice guy but really out to make money any way he can!! SAD! read more

I brought my MacBook because it was running extremely slow and I read all the great reviews here. I was charged $275 and I didn't see a huge change when I first received it back - it was mediocre at best. I couldn't take it back in immediately because the hours that they're open are the same hours I work. A couple of months later it was exactly the same as when I first took it in to get fixed. When I finally took it back in he wanted to charge me an additional $300 to fix it AGAIN! What was the point of paying that in the first place?! I told him that wasn't right and he just shrugged. Came in here with a laptop with a terrible over-heating problem, to the point that it was nearly unusuable. James gave me a projected cost up front, and said my computer would be ready in 1-2 days. In less than 24 hours, I received a call letting me know my computer was ready to go. I must say, I was very impressed with the service offered here! They fixed my loose heatsink, which was causing the problem, and cleaned out the entire inside of my laptop, dispersing any possible dust build up. Additionally, he installed new Anti-virus software for me (mine was outdated), and purged five viruses from my computer (I know, I'm terrible)! James explained in very clear detail what the problems with my computer were, how they were addressed, and how I could prevent them going forward. As someone who isn't the most tech-savvy when it comes to this sort of thing, I found this extremely helpful. I have ran several games and programs on my not-so-new but quite improved laptop, and so far it has performed stunningly! I will edit this post if that changes, but I have high hopes at the moment. After spilling cranberry juice on my 2016 Mac laptop, my boyfriend took it in to these guys for repair. The keys would stick and not type well, the lights underneath the keys wouldn't light up, and the system itself worked rather slow. After the initial check, they told us that they'd order a new keyboard and clean the damage inside. When I took it into the apple store, they took 2 weeks just to tell me that the motherboard needed replacing. The Laptop Expert guys took only 2 days to keep us updated, and they found nothing wrong with the motherboard. If i would've had it replaced it would've cost $800 at apple for something that didn't need fixing. Had my laptop back after 5 days and it only took a while because it was during a weekend. After getting it back, only a few lights worked and we took it back in for inspection. We found out only 2 days later that a component to the light was damaged and would've cost $500. They gave us the option to go through with replacement or not but we turned it down. I'm happy they took the time to look at it into detail, whereas, apple would've made me pay more than $800 for not only the motherboard but the keyboard as well. Apple didn't even offer to clean it or replace the keyboard. Anyway, these guys were honest and tried looking at my laptops flaws in depth.
