I felt truly deceived and humiliated when I went to an urgent appointment because I could barely see and was unable to work since I needed to be able to see my computer monitor. I was told that my surgery would provide intermediate vision in my right eye and a PRK enhancement in my left eye for distance vision, after having previous surgery in 2007. However, during my visit, Dr. Gonzalez told me that they do not perform surgery for intermediate vision and that I should simply use reading glasses to see my computer, suggesting that I could buy them at Walmart or even at the dollar store. I responded by asking whether she really thought I had paid for surgery only to be told afterward that I still needed to use the same glasses for computer work that I had been using before the procedure. Dr. Gonzalez's only response was a shrug of her shoulders. I consider this an extremely disrespectful way to treat a patient who paid for a procedure that she is now claiming they do not perform. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through a similar experience with this so-called doctor. The rest of the staff was truly excellent. Some of the main factors that help me decide on this office was the extremely caring and informative staff. Juan and Rita went out of their way explaining me the entire process step by step. My journey with Lasek vision started over 20 years ago. I had Lasek surgery done in my mid 20's which they were very upfront about my vision changing as I age and advised to hold off. I had LASIK eye surgery on March 6th and by the next day I could see BETTER than I could see before with my contacts and glasses! The surgery only takes a few minutes and my healing process was quick and easy (I felt back to normal by the next morning)! It is now about 2 and a half weeks post laser eye surgery and I have to say I am so happy I did it. Initially I was able to get a consultation the next day from when I called and they were able to explain to me all the details of my eyes. After this initial appointment there mayb be another appointment to follow up for the eye dilation before the procedure, honestly nothing to worry about. Make sure you keep a pair of sunglasses or they can provide one for you if your eyes get dilated. From my initial consultation and qualified for lasik eye surgery I was able to schedule my procedure the next week. Yes lasik eye surgery is expensive it will cost you about 4K depending on your insurance, without insurance its even more. They use the latest technology called wave light contura that gets like thousands of spots in your eye to make sure in the future down the road you don't see flashing lights or halos, as some may experience after a few years of the old basic procedure. The new technology is worth it, its your vision and you want to know it will be taken care of and trusted they know what they are doing. I trust here and I am so glad I did. On the day of the procedure you will need someone to take you and pick you up on that same day. They will over night you the eye drops and you will bring them on the day of the procedure. All instructions and payment discussion will be reviewed that same day. The procedure itself is about 20 minutes depending on each individual vision. Post procedure you will be extremely sensitive to light but they give you a pair of sunglasses to put on once your procedure is done. You are able to see after the procedure but it will be blurry and thats normal. Over all I loved this location and every single person working in it. I do not recommend. My vision has went back to what it was before my surgery. To even have them look at it for a revision, you have to get a 3rd party exam and it takes them about 4 months to review the exam to let you know if you qualify. What a joke and a ripoff. One eye is corrected to 20/40 vision, the other 20/30. Overall big improvement, but far from 20/20 vision. Also had dry eyes for over a year. Dr Fox did my surgery and it seems like he does tons and tons daily, which doesn't allow much time to focus on each individual. I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

PLEASE READ! So I'm the person who wore contacts for 30 years and always said I wanted LASIK but never did it. Waiting that long was my biggest mistake because the experience has been incredible! I really wanted to wait several weeks to post a review to make sure there was no issues with my vision. Amazing procedure!!! The staff was all great and they were very assertive in scheduling a day for my surgery after the free consultation. But I get it because it got me to really consider that a week later I'd be finally getting this done. Definitely not a cheesy sales tactic either. I researched the center pretty extensively. Dr. Kwong was the ophthalmologist and couldn't have been nicer in explaining the procedure and administrating the eye exams. Dr. Laura preformed the actual surgery. It appears she's done thousands of these procedures and was a staff physician while serving as active duty in the military. The surgery itself literally took less than 10 minutes for both eyes. It's "uncomfortable" and an odd feeling but the biggest side effect Day1 was cloudiness and a haze in my eyes. My advice is to schedule around noon so you can go home around 2pm and take a nice long nap but not be asleep for the entire night. It took a few weeks for that "cloudiness" go away completely and it's fairly common. It's like napping with your contacts in. But the day after surgery, after a few drops in my eyes, I had better vision than I had with my contacts all those years!! There was never any pain or swelling. Just a little redness around the pupils. Cost: $4,000+/- for both eyes but worth it for the expertise and how I can see now. 100% recommend LASIK Institute in Planation along with Dr. Laura & Dr Kwong!!!! read more

So just 18 hours after having the surgery, I wanted to leave this review because I am pretty blown away. My expectations were to not see very well until two or three days after the surgery but just after a nights rest I can already see as if though I was wearing contacts, there's still some things that are blurry from up close, but I assume this will go away throughout the healing process, but I highly recommend, Dr. Martin Fox and Francisco, who were so helpful throughout the process if you've been thinking about getting LASIK for a long time don't hesitate to at least have a consultation with these guys read more

Was very impressed with them at the time I had surgery done. Inexpensive and efficient. Procedure went well and had great vision for 10 years. Now that my eyes have regressed a little, I went back to get an update from the "lifetime assurance" I purchased. Now am being told that because the location I had this done at has closed, my "lifetime assurance" is no longer good even though the company is still in business at other locations. I finally finished my last Dr. Appointment in October 2018. I have been waiting for the last visit to do my review. After getting the my eyes done with lasik surgery December 2017. I purchased a Groupon special for $1300 on both eyes. Because it was around the holidays I feel it was much busier than usual. There was a lot of people in the waiting room in December. You first had to do the consultation and an eye exam. Then you would schedule for the procedure. I hafta say I was very nervous and scared. But being brave I went for it. It took 8 seconds on each eye. You could get a prescription for a sedative or hold a stuff monkey while on the procedure table. I chose the monkey. I noticed before it was my turn, some patients had parents going with them into the procedure room. After the procedure I saw very blurry and a relative drove me home. It was done on Friday the week before New Years. The effects were eyes burning and I was given drops and a mask to wear to sleep for my eyes. By Monday my eyes were less burning and I went back to work. I continued my eye checkups after and did have a problem with eye pressure and the Dr. prescribed some drops. The Dr. said i could either take the procedure again or wait it out, I getting nervous about the whole procedure again decided to wait it out and good thing I am a patient person, because it went away and my eyes are 20/20 now since my last visit. I now just use re-wetting eye drops through the day. I am so glad I do not have to deal with contacts or glasses. Well sunglasses I'm loving. I've wanted lasik surgery for couple of years now and this was the year that I made up my mind to have this done. I was so nervous but I came here for a free consultation. I asked all of the questions I needed to and the staff here really put me at ease. I met with Jessica who helped explain the difference between lasik and PRK. I found out that I wasn't a candidate for lasik but PRK was a better match for me. It was explained that my cornea was to thin for the procedure so PRK was perfect. with PRK there was no need to slice the cornea but instead the laser is done right on the surface. The day right after surgery I didn't need to wear glasses anymore. I was actually seeing better already. It was still quit blurry but the recovery process was an improvement day after day. There was a bandage (like clear contact) on my eye so that my cornea could heal nicely. I had to go back to get the bandage/ contact remove 1 week later. I must say that I am very impress with the staff and the procedure. They really put me at ease and walked me through my recovery process with follow up appointments. I must say that 1 month into my recovery, I was seeing 20/20 without contact or glasses. My Rx was -7.25 which was really bad. Normally I would need glasses as soon as I wake up and even need them while watching TV. This was the best investment and I'm very happy with the result. Also shout out to Adrian who is at the front desk. He is very professional and very comforting when I was going through this procedure. Best decision I've ever made. I wore thick glasses since I was a child. Having saved a bit for this procedure I had researched a number of places and after considering a few I set an appointment at The Lasik Vision Institute. The day before the procedure I worried myself unnecessarily as I searched for all possible problems and complications. The doctor was personable and professional and we spoke about our times in New Orleans and though slightly nervous we proceeded to the OR waiting area. A buzz lasting only a few seconds was heard through the door then it was my turn. I thought they were still prepping me by the time they finished....it was that fast. An hour later I could see blurry but ok enough to get a ride home and throughout the day my vision became increasingly more clear...it's really cool. The dry eye is real and don't panic yourself during the first month when your vision fluctuates...it's just the dry eye. Experimenting with which artificial tears I used helped a lot. I personally liked the Gen Teals the best but went through about 8 kinds of drops. Follow up has been good, very friendly office staff, though be ready to wait about an hour if you are not the first one there...they do get a bit crowded...good problem for a place to have, a little tricky when planning your day. Overall I would recommend The LASIK Vision Center to anyone who is considering vision correction. BTW: 20/20 both eyes not 9 Mo. Later. The doctor covered all we needed to know such as: results of the test taken, the procedure, what to expect afterwards, and the time and cost of the surgery. This was incredible! I don't know why I hadn't done this way before. Wearing eyeglasses always bothered me and I had an allergy wearing contacts. A very close friend of mine did this a year ago and she kept telling me it was the best decision she ever made so I took that advise and I went to do the free consultation. The staff is incredible and they answered all these questions you may have. Melanie was very kind since the moment I walked in, she explained everything and introduced me to Dr Kwong who did my first evaluation, she is so kind and sweet, I think is very important that you develop that confidence so you can feel you are in good hands. Then I met Dr Fox, the one that did the procedure. He took the time and explained how the process was going to be. I was a little nervous and asked many questions but he never hesitated to answer all of them. The procedure itself doesn't even take 15 minutes, you just have to relax and trust them. Throughout the process, Dr Fox will tell you step by step what he's doing so you feel safe. The last thing is the countdown when they are actually correcting your vision, you will see a green light while they countdown: 10, 9, 8, 7... once the countdown is over, brace yourself to see in HD! You go home, take a nap (you may feel your eyes are burning which is totally normal, but it only last for a couple of hours) when you wake up, make sure to follow the instructions for the drops, pills etc. Next day: a little foggy vision which is normal but you will start seeing the HUGE difference. Believe me when I say: It's worth it. If this review could be rated honestly, it would result in "no stars". After inquiring for further information on their website, I immediately received a phone call from the call center to arrange a visit. At that time, as well as on the original request for info, I stated my situation would probably not fall within their "norm" as I had experienced prior surgery. I received no fewer than four follow up messages reminding me of my confirmed appointment time. I arrived early and waited more than 20 minutes in the lobby to be personally addressed. I was meet by an assistant who measured my current prescription and took retinal photos to determine my eligibility for the surgery. When asked, I informed the assistant I would not be applying for a financed loan through their office, as I expected and already budgeted for self-pay. It was like a wall of ice dropped and I became "persona non grata" for refusing their financial loan offer. I was then escorted to another waiting hallway where I watched at least five adult patients recovering from earlier surgery, sitting in a darkened room with cartoons on the television. It reminded me of a "pill mill" for vision. After waiting again, I was escorted into the HALLWAY and informed I was not a viable candidate. I asked if I could briefly speak to a doctor to inquire about other medical alternatives. I was told "no" and escorted back to the main lobby and pointed to the exit. What a shame - with such a well-oiled marketing program they could have spent five minutes with me and received glowing reviews and a multitude of referrals via my blog. Instead I was rushed out beginning with my declining of any financing (with low interest rates!) and blatantly refused any moment of speaking to a medical professional. Sad but true read more

I had been wanting to do this for a very long time but was always scared to actually go forward. Finally I decided to at least go for a consult and this place had looked promising from the reviews... To make a very long story short, the pros about this place: 1) everyone was very polite & nice 2) the eye test during my consult seemed to be very through. BUT I'm afraid that's the only reason why i have 3 stars. Cons: 1) Coming full circle at the end of the testing , you sit in an office and go over pricing, questions etc. During that time I felt like I was asking more questions as apposed to the professional in the field letting me know all the bullet points on what to expect, how to prepare & basically what to expect before & after. I didn't get ANY of the important info I needed before deciding to do surgery on my eyes!!! 2) I'm now 6 months out and I am still having complications with my vision as well as pain and discomfort. And every time I go in for a check up I'm told everything is fine when clearly I'm telling them it's not.. Of coarse it's too late now but I wish i had never done the surgery. Please please please do your research before coming here and committing. A consultation is supposed to be thorough and helpful, which this place did not do. They did one test where my eyes fixated on a house in a machine and they told me I qualified. They never dilated my eyes or took time to know about any diseases I had. It's a money mill and they could care less about your safety or care. It's cheaper then other places for a reason. I would not recommend anybody get their lasik done here and I encourage you to look at reviews. There are plenty of reviews online stating that people had issues with getting follow ups or touch ups, which is part of their lifetime warranty. AMAZING EXPERIENCE, DR. FOX WAS AMAZING, STAFF WERE AMAZING, AND VERY AFFORDABLE. I honestly dislike wearing glasses and I've been considering Lasik for few years now but was afraid of the risk. I tried contacts but my eyes would get extremely dry to the point I would have headaches and have to quickly remove them. So I took my chances and schedule a consultation at the Lasik Vision Institute on September 14, 2019 and had my procedure done on September 20, 2019. The procedure was quick 10-15 minutes long by Dr. Fox. Dr. Fox and the staff made me feel at ease and comfortable. They spoke to me throughout the whole procedure and explained every step. I felt absolutely no pain just a little pressure. Once the procedure was completed I can literally see the difference. I went home took a nap and was surprised how well my vision improved. Following morning I had my follow up appointment and my vision was 20/20. It's been 6 weeks now and I can see 20/20 and only experienced dry eyes the first couple weeks which is common after Lasik.
