My story I thought was simple . I Visited Last Piece to make a booking first week in January for May 30th I made the booking asking if I should make deposit at the time of making the booking. Joe the manager, who was very helpful and friendly said no deposit now is required but closer to the date The functions coordinator will call us next week . No call until mid February no apologies were made. She asked my daughter to email confirming details . My daughter sent email as soon as she got off the phone No reply was ever received. Antoinella called my daughter today and could not remember the previous discussion she had with her 3 weeks ago and didn't even know her name also she advised we have two other groups interested in the same date so you need to make a deposit today or tomorrow. I called Antoinella as it thought it would be easier dealing with me than my daughter since I was the one paying. She was rude and showed no empathy to me not being able to pay today or tomorrow even though I was given the incorrect information. I found her very intimidating and aggressive. So I asked to speak to the owner Adrian. Well things went from bad to worse and his exact words to me were We don't need people like you in my restaurant we have enough business let's cancel your booking. Wow I asked if it's ok then if I leave a google review He said go for it I will just delete ! Really can you do that let's see ..... Great spot tucked away in Mulgrave. The service is excellent and friendly. It's nice to sit down for a coffee or meal and have smile and check on customers. Indoor / outdoor seating with parking out front but as it is located in the Ricoh Centre, sometimes the parking lot is full; however, parking on the street is available. read more

This is the site of the old Stadium Cafe. It has changed owners and changed names, but still the amazing location at the old Waverley Park, which is still home to the Mighty Hawks. And still the slightly high prices for the food that is served, but I guess that's due in part to its location. They roast their own coffee, which has a nice smooth blend. Most of the time I've had a good latte there, but the last time it was too weak and too much milk. I'll be making sure next time I ask for a strong one. I've only had breakfast here and it's been good. And on any given day you may just see some of the Hawks players hanging out here. ************** ok I just went to lunch here yesterday and it was fantastic. I had the calamari and it was cooked to perfection, light and tender. Came on a bed of rocket with cucumber and tomato. Coffee were good, but again, order them strong if you like it that way. We sat at the back of the restaurant which overlooks the oval and it's just lovely. It can be noisy here when full as there is nothing to absorb the sound. read more

If you want a decent coffee without having to leave the South Eastern suburbs - this is where you wanna come. I was living with my BF in Mulgrave for a few months and went to this cafe every morning to get my coffee (yes, I'm a caffiene junkie). I miss it so much ever since we moved. Now we make a trip there on weekends for a yummy brunch, laid back atmosphere, friendly baristas and of course, good coffee :) It's one of my favourite brekky/brunch joints in Melbourne. I have also been there for a drink on the odd evening and it is quite charming in the evenings too. P.S. When you go, just be prepared to wait for your food - after all, you're in the suburbs. You saved yourself a 40 min drive by not going to the city so just sit tight and wait an extra 20 mins! ;-) read more

Great menu but the items I ordered really poorly executed. Feel like the chef who came up with this menu hasn't checked in on how it's made in a while. Matcha latte was more milk than matcha. Mac n Cheese Rosti was completely lacking cheese. Very bland. "Crispy" Cauliflower Parmesan fritters, again, where's the cheese. These are not fritters - they are croquettes or patties that are a little crispy on the outside. 'Crispy fritters' is not the right name. They reminded me of fish cakes from a trashy bistro. Awesome menu guys, a little more qc would go a long way if you want to serve people looking for quality food rather than just churning through families. read more

Had the big breakfast it was ok nothing special. This place is more for young up starts, and regulars that get treated with better service. There were two of us and I asked if we could sit in one of the two free booths he said no there reserved for more than two people, fair enough, but not long after ordering two young men walked in a sat straight in the booth and the same waiter said nothing instead giving them high fives. Spoke too soon. Messed up our order, had to ask 3 times over half an hour if the rest of our food was ready (told to wait 10 minutes), when we got the rest of our order it was burnt and cold; by this time the rest of the food we ordered was cold. I then discovered this food was also burnt. Not to mention their "chips with aioli sauce" comes with 30ml of sauce. Not happy. We were given a free drink as compensation, but too much went wrong for us to go back. read more

I just got back from breakfast. Took my parents there for a special brekky and it was a disaster. Food was cold. service was ok. Waiters were nice. But no vegetarian/vegan options. And to get a brekky of just toast and small veggie items was over $25. We complained and the 'manager' was so rude and obnoxious about our complaint that we just left instead. Verbally aggressive and nasty to boot. Feels he doesn't have to listen to his customers-nor does he seem to care if he has customers. Well he certainly doesn't have me or anyone I know. I will tell everyone I know to never go there and if I got the opportunity I'd take out a billboard to that effect! Disgusted. read more
