Food and drinks will be delivered. We've been in a couple of times and it can get busy so if you're in a hurry you may wish to grab 'n go. The food was fantastic! A good sized variety of food options are available but the secret is out so sometimes they are sold out of items. They have a take away meal fridge so you can get a meal for home. Honestly so filling and clean but very tasty. I didn't feel too full afterwards and they didn't use any oil so it didn't feel greasy when I ate it. The breakfast tacos were also very good. Similar ingredients like tofu scramble, avocado, bakon. But there was some salsa on there too. Very delicious. I heard the McMuffy, the vegan breakfast sandwich, is pretty popular too. They make everything from scratch. My sister even said it's the best vegan food she's ever had because it wasn't greasy but still have good flavor. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

It's great to have a 100% vegan option at the Queen Vic night markets, which for years have been very heavy on the meat. Not to mention, the food here is YUM. Right now they have 5 things on the menu, all vegan: - Middle Eastern Open Wrap - Japanese Udon Noodles - Yellow Lentil and Coconut Curry - Laksa Noodle Soup - Sesame Crusted Tofu I've had the Middle Eastern Open Wrap and the Laksa Noodle Soup. My friend had the Yellow Lentil and Coconut Curry. All very tasty. The Middle Eastern Open Wrap was my favourite -- it's probably one of the best falafel wraps I've had in a long time, and it seemed like a real step up from the junky kind you get at kebab shops. This one actually tasted somewhat "gourmet," if you know what I mean. Real thought was put into the flavours and the sauce, which was delicious. The laksa was OK -- a bit messy to eat if you can't find a seat and you have to stand around awkwardly holding the bowl in one hand and trying to navigate with your chopsticks/spoon in the other. (I'm bad with chopsticks anyway and nearly stabbed myself in the eye at one point.) This food stall is located next to the Sri Lankan food stall, away from the main row of food stalls, so you kinda have to hunt for it. It's further south than the main row of food stalls, if that makes sense -- kind of in the middle of the building, with more of the non-food stuff. On the plus side, that means the queue is much shorter than at other food stalls! Prices are right in line with every other food stall at the Queen Vic Night Market -- i.e., a couple of dollars overpriced, but you're paying for the atmosphere of the place. Really great food stall. In my eyes, Wholefoods is the original op shop couches, student filled restaurant…read more Ok, that might be because, as a Monash student, this was my first experience of said place (being, as it was, at the uni) but it's been around for a whole lot longer than many of those cafes in Brunswick and Fitzroy. Wholefoods serves lunches (mostly vegan with some gluten free options), and also has a cafe for the times outside of lunchtime when you need sustenance. The cafe makes fairtrade, organic coffee, sells toasties, cake and other snacky goodies. The staff, with a few full-time exceptions, are volunteers from the student body. The kids work a shift in exchange for a free meal. When the food is as delicious and filling as it is here, that's certainly a shift worth taking. In the last 6 months, Wholefoods has been busy sprucing itself up. Gone are the mismatched cups, the board crammed full of options. Now it's quite snazzy and there is an increase in prices to match. Of course, compared to any restaurant (especially a vegan one) in the real world it's still obscenely cheap, but among the students living on spare change it's causing a bit of uproar. Worth stopping in if you're in the area.

It is run by volunteers which is surprising because the food and coffee is of a high quality unlike some other places which are volunteer run and the staff are just learning the ropes. The food at realfoods is delicious, and my regular favourite is whatever they have on the stove tops. Usually a flavour filled quinoa and Dahl of some kind. They also offer an assortment of wraps and salad options. As I mentioned the coffee here is great and they also offer interesting concoctions such as a tumeric latte - not a popular choice among my friends haha All in all, I recommend this place if you are on campus and looking for a healthy lunch with friendly service :) It can get quite busy during peak times but well worth it. You also have the option to join the Facebook group and gain some sort of discount with every purchase.

When you walk in, you'll see a cheerful yet snug cafe. Not a lot of space. Ask to be seated out back in the courtyard instead (unless it's raining). The courtyard is a narrow, sunny space with lovely flowers and a smattering of tables and chairs, including a pint-sized table and chairs for small children (which my boyfriend naturally had to try sitting at. Good thing he didn't break it.) Staff here is super friendly albeit a little slow (not their fault -- I think they're understaffed on the weekends, when a bunch of city-dwellers hit the town from Melbs.) Vegan and gluten-free options are clearly marked on the menu. I had the tempeh and tofu burgers -- one of each, because they're more like sliders. They're $8 each, so two made for a more complete meal that still didn't break the budget. I enjoyed both the tofu and tempeh, but the tempeh one was my favourite. The burgers came with tahini, avocado, and greens. The tahini added a very nice taste and texture, but I didn't care for the actual buns. The bread wasn't nice. My boyfriend had the Mexican beans dish and enjoyed it. I tried it but wasn't blown away -- I think my meal was better. His was smothered in cheese and sour cream (no vegan option) so maybe that's why -- the parts I tasted were kind of bland. I'm not a fan of restaurants dousing things in cheese and sour cream rather than trying to make their dishes taste yummy and creative on their own. (You start noticing these kinds of things when you go vegan and can't douse your meals in cheese and sour cream anymore!) He also ordered an almond-milk latte, which he enjoyed. What they do is great, and if you're visiting, you can't go wrong. As a regular, things will get a bit boring after a month or so. However, if you haven't been there before, you're mad to avoid it - their offerings are amazing, particularly if you're vegetarian.
