We love my son's teacher but are tempted to leave after seeing how they treat others. I usually see it in the evening with one of the staff that is new to management when it comes to the yelling at multiple teachers. The only reason I am staying at this point is because we paid for summer camp and my son loves his B group teachers. The only way I will be staying past summer is if the management starts treating their staff like people and caring for them instead of yelling at them for going the extra mile and helping their peers out, which I have noticed quite a bit. On top of it all, the place is messy! I have seen vents full of dust, teachers sweeping but the floors looking like they need mopped for once, and others just pushing through their day without cleaning up the food off the floor. Gross! I know I may not have the same experience as everyone else, however I know my experience needed to be placed so others know what they are walking into. Especially after talking with other parents who have seen the issues as well!

He has learned so much while he has been there, I do not consider this a daycare but truly a school. Primrose uses an app called Tadpoles, this is an all digital system, so no paper filling out, everything you put in (last diaper change, last meal etc) goes into your phone app and directly to the school. The reports and messages from the school comes to your phone as well, they even send pictures as well, which is nice to see how your child is doing during the day. They also offer another app as well that is your child's class music you can download to your phone as well and listen to anytime! Primrose sticks to a schedule of meal times, activities etc, which is great. Though right now, we are still living on the other side of town and sometimes cut the breakfast time a little close. But, if we are running late, we can call and they will ensure my little one gets breakfast. The admin staff are great, they knew my name right after I took the tour and continue to be very accommodating and nice when we call, no matter the reason. The curriculum for the kids is great, on the app, I see everything my child has learned that day, they also send home things you can further assist your child in learning that fits into the weekly learning plan. I would recommend this school for anyone who is considering a great school for their child. Though the wait time can be longer, put in your name as things change and your child may be able to get in before the usual waiting period.

The director of the school, Becky Kidwell, is very sweet and accomidating. She often stops in the classrooms to get to know the chlidren and their families. The staff is very warm and is devoted to helping prepare the children for school. The curriculum has an academic focus and the children learn to write their names, bring items from home to share for each letter of the alphabet, enjoy singing with the music teacher once a week and benefit from a very nice outdoor playground and an inside gym room with equipment, parachuttes, balls, and scooters. The school does not do field trips, which differentiates it from the other local preschool at St. Luke's. Like all schools, some teachers in this school are favored over others, and the teacher responsible for the 5-year-old preschool class is one of the best teachers I've ever met. She is warm, keeps her kids in line, ensures they are ready for kindergarten, and truly cares about the welfare of the children. The school offers two-day, three-day, and 5-day programs and all of its classes are half day (9-11:30 or 12:30-3). The rates are very affordable. Registration for the following year opens to the public opens in February every year and some years, spots in the school fill up quickly-especially for the morning programs. On registration day, parents often line up at 6am. While the school was founded by and is housed at Stonybrook United Methodist Church, they do not teach religion in the classes and the preschool is a seperate entity from the church. The school hosts a Halloween Parade of Costumes, a Thanksgiving Feast, Valentine's Day and Christmas parties, which all classes participate in. My only complaint with the school is that it does not offer curb-side check in for children. This is a minor detail but, for me, it meant that I had to park my van and lug my 3-year-old and her 1-year-old twin sisters in and out of the crowded hallways with all the other parents for pick ups and drop offs-no easy feat. Our experience with this preschool for all three of my children has been excellent.

They unfortunately believed in "if she's hungry, she'll eat" philosophy which unfortunately was not the case with my baby. She has been exclusively breastfed and genuinely struggles to eat from a bottle. The sucking action is way different between breasts and a bottle. She took bottle from a couple people there. But they wanted her to learn to take it from anyone. So they STARVED my baby from 8-5 everyday for a couple weeks and asked the teachers she was comfortable with to STOP giving her the bottle! They also tried sleep training her with CIO method while she was hungry and starving. They also force fed her one time with one teacher locking her in her arms while the other was squirting milk into her mouth. They said this THEMSELVES as though they were taming a wild animal, that too when we grew very concerned that her weight dropped drastically. The school said she's one of the most stubborn babies they have ever seen and that they cannot care for her anymore. She's a BABY! And you say you have decades of experience! Apparently my daughter thought she's the boss and everything had to happen her way. The director complained that my baby spilled food on one of the teachers and the poor teacher had to call home and have her relative bring change of clothes for her. Excuse me? You work with babies and they are messy! You should know that by now! They are still learning their hands and legs coordination at that age and that's why they need someone to feed them and can't feed themselves. NOT my baby's fault that she spilled something! The school definitely don't work on building trust with the baby and working their way into a baby's life. They only believe in meeting physiological needs as though they are running a circus! Glad we are out of there.

She started in the youngest room and moved up to the next room just before we moved to Montreal, QC. After 3 1/2 years in Canada, we returned to Columbus and I contacted Brooksedge again - as well as reviewed several other locations again, in order to see how Brooksedge compared now to other daycares in the area. This time we were looking at taking two girls to the center, a 2yo and a 4yo. I was excited to hear that the center's Director, Amy, was still in charge. She is there nearly everyday when I arrive to drop the girls off and many days when I'm leaving too! The kids all seem to know her and she is obviously very involved in the daily routines. Their pricing includes a morning snack/breakfast around 8:00/8:30AM, lunch, and afternoon snack. For the littler ones, the tuition also includes wipes! I visited a Goddard School nearby and was shocked that their standard tuition didn't include lunch - I would've been packing one for each kid everyday, but paying the same price as Brooksedge. The center is tucked in-between a small strip of shops and a residential neighborhood. I don't think the exterior is incredibly impressive, but the interior is fantastic! The classrooms are open and colorful. They have floor to ceiling windows in most rooms to let in lots of light, and they cover them with curtains at naptime. The back hallway of the center is painted with a beautiful ocean mural. Everything is always clean, but without feeling sterile. I'm finding that the girls are trying and loving new foods, improving their writing and communication skills and having a LOT of fun. Honestly, I don't think they'd have as much fun if they were home with me all day! I always said that I wanted to find a place that was what I would do if I started a daycare and they've exceeded all of my expectations both times our kids have been enrolled. In fact, I'm learning from them too! They're a true partner in raising our kids. I don't worry that I'm away from my girls while I work. Brooksedge is doing a great job teaching them other valuable lessons during their time away from me about peer socialization, respect and trust in other adults as authority figures, and independence. Also, I find that our girls try new things (like new food) that they wouldn't try with me. Some mornings when I drop them off, the oldest tells me to "hurry up and go to work" because they are busy at "school" now. Many of the teachers have been with the school for several years - we saw some familiar faces when we returned. The teachers are fantastic! And let's be honest, they've assisted in raising a LOT more children then I'll ever raise on my own. They have some great tips for common challenges at each age level and by partnering with them, I'm learning to be a more efficient and effective parent. Parents pay a staggering amount for daycare, but with a center this great, I feel like I should be paying more.

The teachers at the school are very professional and so friendly. My daughter just loves them all and talks about them a lot. That hasn't changed over the years as my daughter progressed from class to class. She has loved every teacher, and perhaps just as importantly, the teachers love the kids like their own. I frequently tell my wife we are blessed that we are able to afford to send our daughter to Goddard. Before selecting Goddard all those years ago, we evaluated many schools. We heard about Goddard's positive reputation and when we had a tour of the local school, it was a done deal. It was just a great fit. Of course, as great as Goddard is, it is not perfect. About the only downsides I can think of are some schools we looked at provided diapers, wipes, and hot lunches as part of the tuition. Goddard does not do those things, but remains competitive on tuition. The only other thing I can think of is Goddard charges an annual enrollment fee for each child even if they have already been enrolled and attending for years. I am not sure why that is or if that is an industry standard practice, but I thought it would be fair to mention these things. If you are looking for a great child care facility providing top-quality education and child care, look no further than Goddard. Your child will love it!

Let's start by assuming this review will be up for a max of 4 days given the ownership here isn't…read moreactually present at the school but they really care about what people are saying about their school. I'm aware this is long but if you want the full story this is it. I've had my kids at this Goddard location since February 2017. After the almost 7 years there have been three different owners, the most current coming in November 2021. So we will keep it relevant. I'll start by saying we love the teachers here. Ms. Tessa, Ms. Alexa and Ms. Shayla are some of the kindest and nurturing people you will find in the field. They are the reason this place is getting 2 stars. Personally I think they are saints. When the new ownership took over they came in swift with a message to families about how they were here to bring a fresh change excited to be present and know all the families. In 25 months I saw them here 3 times - the week they took ownership, the kindergarten graduation when the director was sick so they had to sub in for her last minute, and one random day this past Fall. They also love sending info about their organic snacks. I loved dropped my daughter off one morning and seeing an 8 ounce cup of yogurt to be split amongst the 24 kids in the room. When I questioned this they added a note at the bottom of the snack email that their snacks adhere to dietary guideline sizes. 1/3 ounce of yogurt for a 4 year old definitely sounds correct, right? The old owners said tuition would never go up as your kid got older. The new ownership didn't mention any change in cost in their big introduction. A few months later we were told costs were being raised to give the teachers a raise. Fair. When my daughter was moved to an older classroom a few months early (we were told by directors she was ready and needed more of a challenge, but the teachers said there were too many kinds in the class and by JFS standards someone had to be moved) we signed a contract stating our tuition was staying the same. We got a surprise bill 6 weeks later with another increase and no explanation. When I questioned it I was told it was their error but it was increasing again. I had learned earlier about a 10% discount families received working at certain places (including hospitals). I've worked at a hospital for 11 years and was never told this. When I asked for the discount I was told I was a "new" family and couldn't be grandfathered in. I was also told the Lewis Center location with the same owners gives a 10% military discount but I wasn't allowed that either. I asked to speak to the ownership and I was given the run around, but finally got them on the phone. They didn't want to give me direct answers. I asked for a breakdown of classroom cost and was told it was at the bottom of my contact, but that was only MY cost, because no one here pays the same amount. I've talked to several families with a child in the same room, no other kids, no other differences, and the monthly tuition varies by a few hundred dollars. Mind you we've been here longer than the other families so you would assume we would get a decent price, but we actually pay the most. When I asked about cost and discounts they said their prices will raise with inflation and they can't give any more information. When I asked why I was never told this they said I was an "old" family with past ownership/ So I'm not sure if we are an old or new family, I guess it depends on how they can get the most money out of you. When I suggested they let "old" families know about their inflation raise rules they said they would "think about it." When I asked specifically where the increase goes they said teacher pay and a new app. I am all about teachers getting raises. Like I said they are saints. However I've had several teachers tell me they haven't gotten a raise. I don't know if it's true, but that's what I've been told. Tuition went up in August and I was told they were hoping to have the app in January. I was told I couldn't know what the app was called because they hadn't bought it yet. Then I was told it didn't matter because it was a social emotional learning app and I wouldn't understand. I guess my masters degree in child and adolescent mental health and 14 years as a child therapist would not prepare me for using a daycare app. To summarize: 1. Your kids will have great teachers, learn and be safe. 2. The cost you pay will not be the same as others at the school. It will increase frequently and by the rate of inflation. And apparently it goes to an app that 5 months later they still aren't using. 3. If you love to be insulted by ownership that isn't present despite their colorful emails about community because they love their Lewis Center so much they can't bother to show their face in Reynoldsburg, this is the place for you.
