Came here for a music event In The Heartland Music of MSB. It was a ticketed event. We got a table with a limited view. That's what was left by the time I found out about it. There were also bar seats. But cost was better with the table for 3 of us. There was also standing room. But I wasn't standing that long. The last time I was here it was smaller. They bought the place next door and made the bar lots bigger. So a show like this was possible. Still have lots of TVs with game's on, neon signs and other signs advertising drinks. It's a bar. Seats range from low tables to high tops and bar seats. They suggested we get there early because of the crowd that was going to be there, so we did. But honestly we could have come about an hour later and been fine. So we ordered some dinner and drinks. We got the watermelon sangrias. It was good but supposed to be garnished with watermelon and it was t. Disappointed. I love watermelon. We got wings and some apps, the pizza bites and potato skins. We got the wings first and the apps shortly after. I got the cajun ranch. Good but not enough cajun. Crispy and pretty meaty. The pizza rolls could have been hotter. And the potato skins were good. Overall, food was OK. Decent bar food and I am being picky. Oh and they have cider on tap. Yeah! The score is really for the event. If I would update the food and such it would be a bit lower. The server was good. He had a lot of tables and was working hard. Props to him. Prices are average. Lots of specials and things going on. It's like it's named. Local bar. Event/show was great! Service is awful. Been multiple times and service is consistently terrible. Order came wrong and then waited for 20 minutes for correct order. Then got attitude when requested bill and boxes - as my party had finished eating. I will say that their wings are great! But it's not worth the terrible music and bad service. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this is a bar that really cares about their customers. I had a negative experience at a concert here due to someone else's actions. I ended up having to leave the crowd to get away from someone who was making the situation unsafe for me and some others. One of the bartenders, Phoebe, noticed me standing in the back, a little panicked. She listened and immediately started taking action. The owner had the person creating an unsafe environment removed and Phoebe checked in and made sure I was feeling safe and enjoying the rest of my night there. I am so happy with how the staff handled the situation, and will be back. Now it's been 2 hours and none of the quesadillas we ordered has arrived. So disappointed as the food is usually good but this is one of the worst experiences at a bar/ restaurant. I have ever had. We went to see E5C4P3 the Journey Tribute Band, tickets were sold through Eventbrite. We got there about an hour before the opening band went on, smooth process getting in, tables were pre-assigned, food was good and service great! Sooo The Local in Strongsville blocked me from their page because I vocalized my opinion about their reservation policy and that it's absurd. When LIVE bands play, you have to reserve your table for 7pm and you have to show up at 7pm or you lose your table. The bands usually start at 9pm - midnight. When we want to go, we have to show up at 7pm and twiddle our thumbs for 2 hours until the band plays at 9pm. We are there to see THE BANDS PLAY...NOT waste our time for 2 hours prior. The last time I was there BY MYSELF (a year ago) I showed up at 7pm to keep our table BY MYSELF until my friends showed up at 9pm. I WILL NOT do that again. I WILL NOT waste my time again. They said I am the problem that live bands have because it costs money to pay the band. How am I supporting the band when I am sitting there NOT ordering anything until 9pm? At 9pm we order food and drinks when the bands start. We are there to support my friends who are in bands and eat, drink and tip the bands. That is our purpose of being there is FOR THE BANDS. Those who know me, going to see LIVE bands perform is a FAVORITE thing to do for me. The Local lost a customer. I am NOT giving them my money. They are assholes. Assholes do not receive my money or support. Reserving a table for about 8:15pm-8:30pm is reasonable and a reasonable wait time for the band to start. NOT 2 hours of wasted time. If you comment on any of their posts, make sure you agree with everything and have no opinion of your own or they will block you. read more

Went there for the first time tonight everyone and any everything was great. Ordered the Reuben quesadilla. We took one slice each and realized there was a mushroom in it. I'm allergic to mushroom just enough to give a rush but I told the bartender who told the manager and asked if they could just take it off the tab who who told me that they're policy was that they legally would have to call an EMT? I'm not paying $2,000 for a rash that's uncomfortable when I'm not consenting to an ambulance when all we wanted was it off the bill and taken away. The majority of food was there besides 2 slices . I asked for nothing free other than that taken off the bill. He said "the best I can do is give you a free round" didn't want another drink so I took water. I'm not paying 2 grand for an ambulance when you could take the $10 off the bill of food that we didn't eat? Thought that was awful and will not be back. read more

I have been coming here since it was Bilo's, and always thought it was some of the best bar food in the area. Well. That has clearly changed with the new ownership that took over last week. Our table of 7, first they brought out one dish at a time, taking about 20-30 minutes to bring all food out once they started bringing food out. Where the first person was completely finished by the time the last person even got their food. Also they forgot some items, and had the audacity to charge us for them after completely forgetting about it and admitting they forgot. Then there's the fact half of everyone's food was cold. And the owner, yes the owner's defense of this was that "well they were hot at one point." And thought that was a justifiable defense. Wow...... The attached photos is their current "temporary" menu. If you are familiar with Bilo's and The Local's usual menus you will know this is a SIGNIFIACNT removal of a lot of items. Small menus are usually done by restaurants to ensure quick serving of food. But with this we still waited almost an hour for the food and then as you read above, the service once we got it was mediocre at best. And awful most of the other times. I will be here again to give them a redo, so I will update my review if they improve. In the meantime, go to Bennett's. read more

They recently added an outdoor patio right out front with garage doors that open up, so this will be a cool place to enjoy when the weather is warm. Food ok, typical bar food nothing to write home about. My biggest issue is I ordered the Strawberry Mule. Advertised as mule of the month, $9. I had ordered food & 3 strawberry mules. Was charged for 4 and was charged $40. When questioned they said I must have had 4 drinks & that they charge additional on weekends when they have a band. Not one place on the menu does it say charges more when a band is there. It's their word against mine. So just be careful with your bill. We visited on Monday, 10/2/23. The Name that tune game was fun! Our food was HORRIBLE!! We waited a very long time for our order to come out; and when it did everything was overdone! I ordered the fish sandwich which was burned horribly! We thought the fish was the burger; that's how dark it was. Terrible service with attitude hit and miss with the food normally not good on band night you probably won't get what you want or you won't get anything at all. Many better places around. We've been regulars there for two or three years now problem is the owner doesn't seem to govern his employees whatsoever these girls run around they're acting like the only place if you go there don't expect to get a drink anytime soon and when you ask for one you're gonna get yelled at. We stayed at the bar for about 15 minutes watching everybody re-order drinks and a new couple walked in didn't even sit down and they were approached and asked what they wanted sitting right next to us and when I said something the girl refused to serve me bunch of liberals maybe I will never go there again. We arrived around 6 pm. only to find the place empty, yet no place to sit or able to order food because every table was marked RESERVED. EVERY table was almost empty for almost 2 hours at prime dinner hour. I can't believe they wouldn't even let me slide an empty chair up to the bar so we could at least eat and have a drink. I would never think of returning unless this policy is changed! It is beyond ridiculous! Most people are going to just walk out if you can't sit down and eat! Just popped in for a quick dinner with a beer and I really liked the place. The setup is great with an oval bar at the center, high top tables around it, and some more private booths outside of those. They also have darts, pool, bowling, and golden tee. It seems to be a sports bar in general, but not entirely, which I like. I had one Irish Setter Red Ale by Thirsty Dog and a French Dip sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic! Great bread, delicious prime rib, yummy onions, tasty cheese, and a kick butt au jus for dipping. My buddy and I will definitely go back when we're in the area. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon with the Mrs to catch a bit of the Tribe game. Haley was our server/bartender and did a good job. They have 6 drafts in tap, including one of the only Budweiser taps in Strongsville. They also have Keno and about 16 TVs, which could stand to be upgraded a bit. We ordered the French Dip and a Local burger with sautéed shrooms, onions and Swiss. The burger came out on a toasted bun which was nice, and cooked perfectly, though a tad dry. The French Dip was outstanding. They were out of tater tots, so we had fresh cut fries. These were a bit skinnier than usual, which made them perfect. All the food was crazy hot.
