I really enjoyed this place. Finally there is a wine bar in Henderson. I loved how looking at the list of wines, they weren't your typical wines that you see on every restaurant menu. So it was pretty hard to choose which glass I wanted. We decided to try the Riesling Trocken and the Sancerre. Both were great choices. It definitely wasn't your typical sweet Riesling. We ordered the meat and cheese board and it was the perfect amount for 2 people stopping by for a quick bite while shopping. This is a great place to stop by while shopping or to catch up with friends while enjoying great wine. The front window appears to be a very large door, something similar to what I've seen at restaurants and wine bars in Southern California! I'm not sure if the front window actually opens though???? But I like it! When we walked in I thought; "How Nice"! Bright and modern decor! Young professional crowd! Well that's all I noticed, because I didn't stay. It was very loud inside, and very crowded. Unfortunately, you must put your name on a paper wait list just to sit at the bar. This is how I found out... We walked in and wrote my name on the wait list. At the same time, I noticed one available bar chair at the bar. I walked over, pulled it out and looked over at my girlfriend. Before I could call out her name, the bartender pounced. Seriously... Lol! He said that the chair was not available and that I had to place my name on the wait list. I apologized and explained that I was accustomed to having drinks at the bar while waiting to be called for a table. Instead of asking for my order, he asked me to walk over to the paper wait list and write my name on it. Since, we already did that, we stood against the wall waiting. The hostess told us that we could have a glass of wine, while standing against the wall. She didn't ask for our order though???? Hmmm. Wow!!! the bartender didn't ask if I wanted to place an order while I stood against the wall waiting to be seated. The server/hostess didn't ask for our order while we were waiting???? Thirty seconds later, we saw another couple walk in and spot the open bar chair! The male walked over to the bar chair, pulled out the chair for the female and then she sat down. I didn't see the bartender chase them away?????? Obviously, we exited and went to a very nice restaurant in Green Valley Ranch to enjoy wine and dinner! I love wine bars, so 2 stars for the idea and taking the first step: opening the wine bar! Please work on the customer service owners. Loved the vibe here at this place. Located in the Green Valley District, this wine bar is a perfect addition to the area and probably more busy than most of the retail stores here. What I like about this wine bar is the cool simplicity of the place, the modern relaxed environment and you can either sit at one of the tables for a group, or you can sit at the bar. If your group is small enough, I recommend the bar. Here you can talk to the bartenders and to the sommeliers to find out the best wines to try. If you love wine, but cannot keep up with all the types and styles, this is the place to go. This place is just what The District needed! Quaint wine bar with food options to nibble on. The wine list is decently sized with by the glass and bottle options, along with cocktails. The food menu has sandwiches, salads, and beautiful charcuterie boards. The beverage director, Rafael, is a Certified Sommelier and REALLY knows his wine. He was extremely helpful and informative and will steer you in the right direction no matter your level of wine knowledge. The place is quaint, with bar seating, and a handful of full tables for larger groups on a "patio" which is covered but has open air access to outside. Some parking in front of the establishment, and plenty of parking behind it. The women's restrooms is even adorable, with mints, lotions, toothpicks, and womanly products if needed. It's a nice stop for a delicious glass of wine while shopping or the perfect "local" place to go with friends for happy house or evening drinks. read more

I can't believe I had missed this little wine/cocktail bar during my visits to The District. I found it while looking for a place to have a charcuterie board and wine with my date. Only having been open 7 months as per our server, this small bar has a great wine and cocktail list as well as small food menu. The staff was absolutely friendly and accommodating with answers to questions about their wine/cocktail menu and even offered a small taste to make sure we were happy. We ordered the charcuterie board and let the chef decide the contents for us and they did not disappoint. Various seating options: bar, regular tables near bar, front half of the establishment has this open/airy feel to the district with regular tables and a lower bar top that serves as a bar feel with great people watching outside. I've now tried all of their wine flights which are a decent. Their cocktails look beautiful and sound tasty so I can't wait to try them. Last time I visited I had the Havana panini which was delicious but could've used another minute or two in the panini press to really melt the cheese :) Would love if they offered more flights or a rotation of wines in their flights for those of us frequenting often and wanting variety but overall, awesome place! read more

I last reviewed The Local about 2 years ago and wow, this place still rocks! We wandered back in here on an early Saturday night. Luckily we found 3 spots at the bar and right away was greeted. Not long after that we had a bottle of wine and cocktails. We also ordered a charcuterie board this time and rather than choose our meats/cheeses the bartender surprised us. His choices were amazing! I would highly recommend letting the server/bartender surprise you. We don't have any allergies or preferences so we are definitely easy to pick for. Overall coming here two years ago when it was fairly new and trying it out again was great to see nothing has changed. Still great services, delicious food, plenty of wine to choose from and a fun atmosphere. So happy this place is still around! read more

I usually go to the Pinot and palettes a few doors down then stop by here either before or after few glasses of wine and a little snack. They have meat and cheese platters where you can choose between 4-8 meats and cheeses served with honey, fig jam, pickles, and olives. I also tried a caprese salad which was refreshing as well. My favorite drink was the strawberry fields, it was a sweet moscato based cocktail with intense strawberry flavors. I also love that they do flights, my favorite is the new world white but they have amazing red and white options. A lot of great options for wine altogether. The Local. This place is nicely decorated, has an inviting environment and is in a great spot. However, there is an uncomfortable factor with one of the employees.....the little bartender guy. Woah, this guy has zero people skills, and when you approach the bar he greets you as if you're crossing his bridge. Yes yes, I said it, he's a troll. Bartender was not wearing a mask at all during the entire duration of my time spent here. When asked why he isn't wearing one he said he "forgets". How can you forget to wear a mask when everyone coming into your establishment is wearing one? Also covid has been a thing for almost a year now. As a fellow bartender I'm disgusted by this selfish behavior. You're touching everything from garnish to glass and we are in the middle of a pandemic. If you don't want to simply wear a mask while working , then simply do not work. Take your politics out of public health and doing your job. He put his mask on briefly when I called him out, but as soon as I left he took it back off.
