Great customer service, pleasant bunch of guys to bounce a "key" question off. Recently I was looking for an out of production Skeleton type key for a cabinet. Wouldn't ya know, they had a bag of old rusty keys & we found a perfect match. Down side, $10 for one rust crusted key. They told me to soak it in a cup of Coke Cola for 2 days & scrub it clean. Paul and Dave are great guys. Disclaimer: we've had a few drinks with these guys from time to time, but our relationship is strictly business. Their competition consists of an outfit in Hartford that charged me (in a moment of indecision) *twice* what they charge for re-keying a lock, another firm that makes me wait, and will *never* come out to a remote site for less than $200. Of course, you deserve what you get if you have keys copied at Home Depot or the like -- one or more of the copies isn't going to work and one has to go back again (and sometimes a third time). Among professional locksmiths, there is this place, and then the rest. This outfit is top-notch. They're professional and offer full-service at prices that are low. We must qualify; we're aware that most people don't very often use a locksmith. We've not used this service for automotive key service (although I can tell you I'd trust them to do that; they offer the service). But we *do* own three rental properties and two commercial properties, and are *constantly* using locksmith services. If you don't have your own grinding/cutting rig, use these people. Use 'em. (In fact, even if you don't need them right away, just go to their store and you're bound to find *some* sort of key holder, labeling device, or security gizmo that you just can't do without!). They make us feel safer -- let them know what you need, and perhaps they will make you feel safer, too. read more

I went this morning for help opening an older fireproof box that would not unlock with the key. They dealt with the situation promptly, and in a very short time diagnosed the issue and opened the box! I was sooo relieved that I could get to my important papers!! If you are looking for a locksmith, look no further. This business is top rate. I was stuck at a hotel by the airport, had a flight out the next day, and didn't have a key for my mobility scooter. These guys are awesome. Knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. I have an apartment building in Hartford and used a so called Discount locksmith to rekey & master key the building. After 5 trips and countless hours they still didn't complete the job. The master key would only work on certain units. I have been going to the Locksmith Center for a long time. Lately I have found them to be expensive and I don't like dealing with Paul, he has an attitude that is not customer friendly. I think he forgets who the customer is and always acts like he is being put out when I deal with him. I had some locks re-keyed 3 weeks ago and dealt with Paul and he was very unfriendly that I have decide that I am going to use Ct Safe and Lock. I don't know anyone that comes across more like he dislikes his job more than Paul. He is just not a happy person and doesn't make you want to come back. Many of my friends used them in the past and have found the same issue, Price and their attitude it terrible. They also no longer use them. read more

One time, the airport parking valet lost our car key and they replaced it for much less than what the dealer would have soaked us for. After a Nissan Dealer told me that my remote key fob was no good. Oh and waiting one and half hours. I took it to The Locksmith Center and Paul checked and reprogramed it and it was good.
