I've moved to the Lodge after living at Citronia Towers for over three years mostly because of the good management. Both properties are managed by Siraj, and he has always been fair and trustworthy. Communication has always been easy, and the properties are well maintained. A specific perk is the one bedroom unit still came with two parking spots. In high-volume area surrounded by other apartment buildings, getting two spots for a one bedroom unit is unheard of. I really enjoyed living at both communities. read more

Where to begin. I've been here for YEARS. I'm so glad to have moved out . Management at the time of move in was very kind ,very sweet. Then Siraj took over and man no one could have done it better. His go to was to paint over everything, even mold! He hustles so hard to milk any penny he can from repairs. Although I know he's just a pawn in this companies sick game you'd think a man like him would be more self aware and not give in to how shady this company is . This apartment is NOT Luxury or Towers AT ALL. They have changed their company emails I think to avoid Fraud . First off NOT wheelchair accessible NOT Pet friendly unless you consider piles of grass and dirt a pet park with trash cans and almost ALWAYS empty trash bags. (Meaning owners still let their animals poop on the lawn) NOT kid friendly. Nowhere for kids to even hang out besides the pool. The photos are heavily filtered and photoshopped. Also heard from a tenant who was on L.I.F tell me they FELT as if they were treated differently than other tenants. Appliances were always old and when needed replacement they would be replaced with more used and old items. Seeing everyone post silver fridges confirms they were being discriminated. I wouldn't put it past him since this company only cares about money and top dollar. The pool is probably one of the most dirtiest places. Only gets "cleaned" specific days and even after the "clean" it's just smells like strong chlorine. I've worked in pool cleaning and man that's NOT HOW you clean a pool. Feel like most "workers" or "Maitnence " he hires are from Home Depot Very unprofessional always late to show. He fails to give a specific time and often forgets requests almost continuously. I always had to remind the manager. The gym has been remodeled more than anything on this old place. Remind you this building is from the 60's Please save the time and money the plumbing here SUCKS! The garage gets remodeled for car charging? So that means us renters have to pay more for a car we don't even have. If you want infestations have at it! If you live by shrub do not open your windows you'll let anything in from Spiders, Larva, Fleas, and much more but the good thing is the apartment comes with it's very own Weavels and Earwigs . I'm glad I moved and don't have to deal with such crappy management and corporation definitely have me questioning EVERYTHING. Boycott this corrupt company!! Do not live here! read more

On their website and on Zillow, this property shows that a two bedroom apartment is available. I booked a tour, drove 45 min and was immediately told by the leasing agent that he only had one bedrooms available. This was a total waste of time. I've lived at the Lodge at Porter Ranch for six years now, and it has been an incredible experience. This was my very first apartment, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to start. The management here is exceptional. Siraj genuinely makes you feel heard whenever you have a concern; you're treated like a real person and a neighbor, not just another "random tenant" in a building. While I rarely need maintenance, the few times I've had to put in a request, they have been right on top of it. Using their app for requests is super convenient, and the response time is always quick. The complex itself is very peaceful and well-maintained. The neighborhood feels incredibly safe, and it's just a short distance from the grocery store and plenty of shops. This is a great apartment complex. Siraj is an awesome manager who is quick to respond and fix problems. My favorite thing about this place is the gym. It was recently remodeled and is barely ever in use by anyone. It was easy for me to get into the daily routine of working out full body and cardio. I would recommend living within the complex gates. Some units are not in the gated area. Our apartment was right on chatsworth street which welcomed homeless people to our front door. We could also hear loud noises from people on the street and cars accelerating throughout the night. For our first apartment this place was amazing. I have been living in the complex for 8 years now. The 1st few years with different managers were a bit of an issue until it was taken over by Siraj! He is not a bossy, no do manager instead he treats residents with respect and really keeps the complex nice and neat. The bonus this year was the pool and gym area. I love this neighborhood, recently moved out and miss it so much, thinking of moving back. This building is by far the best in this neighborhood, with well maintained grounds, quite family atmosphere, and walking friendly for just about everything. You want to go to the supermarket, ice cream parlor, or dozen other eateries, just walk for about 3 minutes and you will run into all of these establishments. As for the apartment, I love the lay out, perfectly proportioned. There might be some negatives that would give it a 4 star, but the neighborhood most definitely boosts it back up to a 5 star review. read more

I love my new place at Lodge at Porter ranch! The entire process from start to finish was easy and smooth. This was my first time applying for an apartment and Jack made it so simple. Upon move in, Siraj was friendly and very good at communicating everything that I needed to know and even answered questions I had after moving in. I am a very easy going person and never complain... BUT this place is sh*thole. I have been trying to contact the current manager for months about a dispute on charges after moving out of there.. I was put into a unit that was INFESTED w mold and discovered it after a month of living there. And I feel bad for the current tenants in that unit because guess what.. The head maintenance guy just PAINTS OVER THE MOLD. THE old manager did not want to let us change units nor come and send someone to fix the problem nor let us terminate our lease without a crazy amount of charges! Let alone the fact that I was pregnant at the time so we decided to get the hell out of that place!! SO in conclusion they have charged us CRAZY amount of charges for staying in a unit for a couple of months THAT WAS INHABITABLE. And I have contacted them recently about dropping the charges and NOPE nothing. I still have pictures of how disgusting that place was and WILL post them soon. read more

RUN!!! DO NOT RENT HERE!! This is one of the WORST buildings I've ever lived in. I moved here 02/04/17. I just moved out 02/03/19. This place is just an overpriced ghetto. Ya, they keep the property looking nice and you won't realize the problems until you move in and experience this hell on a daily basis. I don't even know where to start. So let's start with the giant tube they installed in the closet. Not only did they break the closet bars, and dirty up the closet, they ended up charging me for painting the closet for damage they did. This tube (I think it's for sewage) takes up so much space in the already tiny closet, the ONLY storage in the entire apartment. this tube was awarded the name "the luxury tube" because this place claims to be "luxury living" ... In my two years living there, we had three apartment managers. The first was lazy and let everything go. The second, completely inexperienced to manage a 150 unit building. The third, Lorna, is a nasty nasty woman. She contacted me to yell at me accusing me of having a big dog. I assured her that I didn't have a big dog. She texted me apologizing and then continued to be one of the meanest people I've ever experienced. Perhaps because she was wrong or perhaps she hates LGBTQ people, like my roommate. I finally had enough of this place & her bitchy attitude. Lets move on, in my two years living here, the pedestrian gates were always broken, the parking garage gates were always broken, cars were broken into and stolen, the security used to sleep in the pool area instead of patrolling the building, there were BED BUGS, raids, grafitti, rape, homeless people wondering the building and sleeping in the laundry rooms, washer machines that were always broken, you had to learn a special dance to avoid stepping in the dog shit all over the building, the elevator was once broke for two months, elderly people were trapped upstairs & one fell down the stairs and soooo many roaches of all kinds!! You may love living here if you like the weekly water shut off.. always leaking pipes.. and they are too incompetent to to turn the hot water back on once they shut the water off. This was always fun.. Thursdays seemed to be water shut off day, you'd think that we shoulda saved a ton on the utility but nope! That just kept getting more & more expensive .. nothing like being in the middle of a shower with shampoo in your hair when the water is suddenly shut off with zero notice!! This place is not affordable, nor is it pleasant to live in. It is not "luxury" in any kind of way. Just keep looking, I promise you will thank me that you did. This place is not worth the stress that it takes to live here. It's literally a revolving door of tenants. Barely anyone stays more than a year or two. They lied when I moved in and said their tenants have been there for years, that they like to keep everyone happy.. then the dumpsters would fill up with furniture. So many empty apartments, you never know who's living around you. I gave these people $1100 in deposits, they gave me back $250 and lied about why. They couldn't charge me for the old dirty carpet or the old floor so they illegally charged me half the paint bill which they aren't allowed to do and when I asked about, silence so deafening it could drive you mad. They do not care about their tenants. That was made obvious multiple times over again. There are plenty of much nicer places in this part of town that don't have all the issues. This is a overpriced slum. Keep walking. read more

Lodge Porter Ranch has been home for over 3 years and have nothing but pleasant things to say about this place. Siraj the building manager does a fabulous job in keeping the building safe and well-maintained. Siraj goes above and beyond to solve any issue that arises very very quickly. He always finds ways to make each one of it's tenants feel at home. Always with a smiling face, welcome personality and a positive attitude. My grandma has lived in this apartment building since 1994. The new management is by far THE BEST they have ever had. Siraj, Yarshanne, and the staff in the leasing office are incredible! Any time my grandma needs anything they are always on top of it. Last week my grandma was walking into the building with groceries and Siraj saw her having a hard time and she told me that he carried her groceries upstairs to her door. (Thank you so much for that!) They recently changed her flooring and did a bunch of awesome renovations to her unit. She's so happy! Thank you so much Siraj and the staff at The Lodge for your help, kindness, and dedication to making sure my grandma's unit is always up to par and for always being quick to fix anything she needs. I recently moved out of my place and I needed to find a place for my family and I asap and I looked at multiple places and was being bounced around. I have been a tenant at The Lodge at Porter Ranch for 8+ years, located in a convenient location near the Granada Hills Village shopping center and grocery store everything in walking distance. Building is beautifully maintained with a newly renovated gym and also pet friendly. We have had many managers come and go and the previous manager was rude, condescending and possessed no integrity. So happy he's no longer managing this property. We were really considering moving once our lease was up to avoid having to deal with the previous manager. I felt a great sense of relief when I learned that Siraj who was previously the assistant became the property manager. We therefore decided to renew our lease. Siraj and his staff are so amazing! Siraj treats you like a human being he greets you by your first name. He's kind considerate, empathetic and wonderful goes above and beyond to address any issues or questions. Always keeps his tenants informed at all times, you can't teach these skills or qualities best customer service. The superintendent Dave is top-notch he always responds quickly and is efficient with his work. Dave possess great customer service skills. Siraj and his staff make an exceptional team they truly care about their residents and this community. I've lived in Northridge "The Lodge in Porter Ranch" for 4+ years. The staff has change almost as many times. The water shut offs have regular occurrences, granted the building is aging, although the rents are current generation. The location for shopping is great, the traffic during the school year is much less desirable, the lack of security has been improved with video cameras everywhere and the responsiveness of security is somewhere but not really relevant. I've never seen any vehicle, that has been parked overnight in the "no parking" area, ever towed, security patrol just is irrelevant. Cleanliness of some of the people that live there is as though they are too good to throw their own trash where it belongs, except near the trash can on the ground. Respect level is low, as neighbors hardly know each other. Nor look out for each other. Greetings are congenital and polite, however meaningless. I had only found 2 individuals that I could create a relationship with, one moved the other is in maintenance. The gardeners or leaf blowers blow the garages, while your car is parked, leaving it with dirt covering it from head to toe. Regardless, they should blow off the car that they just covered with dirt. Very inconsiderate. Washing machines jam, get broken and get repaired regularly, however, they are not always secure, one group of washers, the door had been broken for all the years I've been there. And the people like to leave the closest outside door accessible to anyone. People can enter with out a key. People without proper gate keys wait for the parking gate to open and waltz in. Drivers exit the drives as they are the only tenants. The gates at time are dislodged and left open all night. I'm moving, not because of staff or location, but because the constant increase in rent and no return of increased value. Perhaps this review will wake up the Corporation that sits at home cashing our checks to wake up, and then again maybe not. read more

Honestly, the worst place I've lived in. The staff here talks to you like they will solve all your problems, but they do nothing about it. They don't know how to communicate with their tenants when it's time to resolve an issue. It's always a "he said she said" when one of the staff members tells you something, the other one comes around and says the contrary. Whenever I try to call the office, there is never a response. It feels like they have a beeper instead of a phone number, because I never get someone to answer the phone!! This place ALWAYS has PLUMBING ISSUES !!! The units here only have cosmetic fixes and cover up the REAL issues. They're a catfish for apartment living. Not "luxurious" whatsoever. Always shutting the water as well. read more

1) As long as Lorna is the manager there, this is not a livable place! From our very first interaction she's been rude. Every phone call she will answer with attitude, before even knowing who and what you're calling about. Even when my family members called they got the same attitude from her. It just got to the point where I was very uncomfortable going home knowing I can't go to the manager with any concerns because she's so defensive. They never updated my rent bill on time so I never knew exactly how much to pay with the utilities. I ended up getting a bill with about 3 months of accumulated unpaid utilities that they expected me to pay all at once! They need to be on top of their shit. 2) Great location but don't be fooled this is not a luxurious apartment complex. It's ghetto and dirty. The units are over priced for what you're getting. 3) If you or your guest is in a wheelchair, good luck. Not that wheelchair friendly, very inconvenient. 4) There's always something wrong with something. There's just too much maintenance going on at the moment. You're basically signing a lease to a building that's under construction. I can probably go on and on but you get the gist... read more

Lived in Apartment 238 for only 1 YEAR! July 2019-Sept2020. From the start, it was issue after issue. The air conditioner flooded the place on day 1! Everything looks great from the outside but they refuse to fix the actual piping issues. We had multiple maintenance complaints that always took weeks sometimes months to fix, this was all pre covid. - We had to call emergency maintenance SIX times in one year (all pipe related). The pipes are horrible! the toilet would flood into the shower and a professional plumber would have to be called. We would not be able to use the bathroom for over 24 hours. The plumber told us that this would continue to happen every 2-3months because the pipes were old and they refuse to fix the issue just cover-up. -The water is either always cold or always hot. Never normal, You can't use the AC for too long or it will start leaking. - They have a plastic sheet on just about every roof, that is their way to prevent rain leaks, we had one back in March and they covered it will a plastic sheet, that's it. As soon as it starts getting a bit windy all the plastic is flying all over the property and balconies. Be prepared to always clean the plastic. - Roaches all over the property and because our window wouldn't close that they never fixed, they get inside. We also saw numerous raccoons on the balconies below or in the overflowing trash bins. The stairway is always dirty and smells horrible due to the constant leaking pipes. -Be careful moving here, they will say everything you want to hear when moving especially from Siraj. Once you move out expect not to get a deposit back. - A one-year lease only because we refuse to stay here any longer and they took more than 80% of the deposit. How? who knows they refuse to provide anything in writing explaining even though we have a recorded video on our final walkthrough explaining the final paperwork and charges. Two months later I am still waiting for a refund for the prorated rate they charge when we were focus to leave a whole day and a half earlier when moving. I don't believe we will get refunded which I spoke to Jack and he offered an Amazon gift card not cash for their mistake. At this point, we are just waiting for our small court claim to process. Anyone considering this place, think twice the outside looks ok and the balcony space is good, but a month in the issues will start, and for what you pay it is not worth it. Recently a packaged was sent to me to this address (my previous address) I called multiple times within the week and left messages. Finally they picked up and told them about the package and management says there isn't any package with my name on it there. I asked if they can check and she said she did. I've lived at property a total of 11 years and recently upgraded to a 3 bedroom. Process was smooth and without issues. New management is very attentive and handles issues pretty quickly (i.e. fixed hot water on Thanksgiving). Regardless, historically, water issues have been an issue with the property. Neighbors over the years tended to be private but friendly. Granada Hills Charter is the home high school which was our big draw. Electric is provided by LADWP so hardly any power issues. There is a shopping center right across street so super convenient for groceries, food, coffee, housewares, etc. Also close to 118 on ramp. read more
