During Covid they ghosted all their customers, even those with pre-paid reservations and day care packages. Full on disappeared without communication. They reopened at a new location and we attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt- but between booking and arriving no one reached out to tell us a piece of documentation was missing from our vet and we had to leave with our dog and figure out same day care plans for her. So all around complete lack of communication in our experience. Will have to find a new place. read more

All three of our healthy, vaccinated dogs (9 yo f English setter, 2 yo M English setter and a 4 yo M Great Dane) got very sick during their stay and our Great Dane died from complications of whatever he picked up there a week following. I have attempted to discuss what happened with them, only to be told that the owner is out of town and will contact me on August 27. Therefore, given the urgency of getting dogs tested for whatever was spreading around that place, if you boarded at The Lodge for Pampered Pets recently, they were closed for cleaning from August 14-20th due to an outbreak of what they believe to be canine cough, but may be something else. This information was sent out via email on July 29 for some clients, but not to us. In fact, they sent us an email confirming our reservation from August 3-8 that made no reference to an outbreak at the facility, just in the "area", and made no mention of the closure in less than a week after our dogs were there. We received information about the closure on the 12th along with a statement from a vet stating that it isn't a serious disease. The point is that they knew there was an outbreak before July 29, made the decision that it was serious and they needed to shut down and clean, and yet didn't close their facility until august 14th. Additionally, they didn't mention the closure or reasoning to people boarding in the weeks following the decision to close and the closure. read more

I made a reservation for our dog (first time customer) and had to cancel a week before. They would not refund my 45.00 deposit, I was told refunds are only given if canceled 10 days before. I am very disappointed in this decision and will be looking elsewhere for future boarding. I don't know of any other boarding facilities that require a deposit. It seems there are several negative reviews for this facility. read more

No longer trustworthy. We have been loyal customers for over a decade. New building, new owner, no longer competent to watch my companions. A kennel that can't handle a highly energetic labrador puppy is not a good sign patrons! Beware! We have two dogs. Our elderly dog that doesn't need much attention did fine, but our energetic puppy was asked not to return. That's a red flag to me! I'll add that he left with a bleeding tip to his tail. I've never seen him chew on his tail until he came home from a visit here. I can't speculate how or why this happened, but I don't want to leave either of them here again. I'm not happy with this place! My dog came home with a pressure sore diagnosed by our vet because she was not let out of her kennel !!! She was only there for 5 days!!! When I called to report this I never even got a courtesy call from the owner! Don't take your dogs here!!! read more

The lodge is the only place I will leave my fur babies with. The piece of mind that comes with knowing your pets are well taken care of and safe is priceless. My 2 love going and playing in The beautiful facility and the daily Facebook pictures they post show how happy they are. It's like a vacation for them too. Best kennel hands down. read more

We were very apprehensive about boarding our dog Rocky, a ten year old Puggle has only. Even. Boarded a few very few times and usually only over night. Heard about how this place went to Check it out with Rocky and we all fell in love. Extremely roomy kennels, heated and air conditioned. They have an air exchanger that totally changes the air at least three times a day! They will pamper your pet to pieces. They get to go out and (your choice) with or without other dogs. They go out at least 6 times a day or more. The floors are warmed and comfortable even for us to walk on. Cats are in their element, from what we saw. Rocky had such a good time that when we came to pick him up, he did his happy dance. For a few minutes then went right back to the gal that we were talking to, looked at us as if to,say, ok. See you later and turned to her! Of course he was really glad when we put him in the car, but this place takes fantastic care of your pets and really cares for them! Very very reasonable, they also have ,a groomer, we requested a bath nail trim and a shave. He was so spiffed up and looked so cute it's not funny, They are located in Metamora and have a huge outdoor fenced area, that the pups can play in. We will definitely be using them again and have been telling everyone about them. They also have doggy day care! Terrific. So glad we found it. The staff is terrific and it shows that they all love animals! If you are looking for a place, This is it!!! read more

We were a little nervous boarding our dog for vacation, as we have never had to do it in the previous 10 years we've had her. We couldn't have had a better experience. Everyone was very friendly. Harvey was in very good spirits when we picked her up and even fresh and clean from her bath the day she was leaving. We will definitely is The Lodge for Pampered Pets again. read more

The staff is so friendly, the kennels are clean and VERY accommodating to the size of dog. I use The Lodge for Pampered Pets for day care also. My dog can not wait to get out of the car, and into another day at the Lodge and playing with other dogs! It's been a great experience at this kennel. Check them out! We had taken our dog dexter there a couple of years ago and though it was fine, but this time not so much. It started right when we dropped him off. There was a man who i assumed was the owner yelling at a girl in the front reception area right in front of us, belittling her in a very derogotory manor, it was very uncomfortable right off the get go. We were checked in, handed an ipad told to scroll down to the bottom and sign our name. We asked if we could see dexter before we left to say goodbye. We got a pretty strong eyeroll back and then she took us out back to see him. That was strike two. We returned from our vaction the next saturday, our plane was delayed so we got in 2 hours late. We called to check and see how late they were open, we were told if we got there after 6 there would be a $10 charge so we decided to haul everyone out there, 5 people all of our luggage, and a wheelchair bungy strapped to the trunk for our son that is handicapped to get dexter. We arrived there at 5:45 went in paid and were on our way. On the way home my wife said that the bill seemed more that what we were expecting it to be so we added it up ourselves. They had already charged us another $$28 for Sunday. So let me take a minute to wrap my brain around their reasoning. It would be cheaper to pick up you dog/cat a day later than to pick them up after 6. We were never told a time to pick them up when we left. On the phone when we landed at the airport we were never told that it was already charged till the next day, that would have been a handy piece of info to have at the time instead of adding a 70lb dog to an already crowded car to commute the 40 min back home. We called the girl back, left a mesaage for the manager to call back. She said she works tomorrow and will call you. I waited all day Sunday for her to call and she did not. So, at 5 minutes to 6 when they close at 6 I finally called her. She informed me that all the rules were on the iPad that we were told to scroll down to the bottom of sign. And so there you have it. We will never be returning to this place to board our dog. If the owners reading at my first and last name are on it and she could always call and make this right but I really am not going to be holding my breath. I am not sure if they have changed ownership since the last time we had him boarded there but it had definitely gone downhill. read more

We love bringing our doggie here. The staff is great and we have peace of mind knowing our dog is well taking care of. We are going on Vacation in March, and we will be taking our kitten too. They have great prices, great accommodations, great staff, and best off all you can have your furry friend bathed before you come get them. Particularly loved how they would post pics on Facebook daily so that we could see our dog, Elly May, playing while we were away! I am shocked by the good reviews. This place has been a terrible experience for me. Left my dog there for an overnight in April and didn't have a good feeling about any of it! The staff were very rushed to take him back and get me out of there. Upon pickup, I was charged for 2 days, even though he was dropped in the late afternoon and picked up in the morning. They didn't use his bedding or allow his toys, which I was told would be no problem when touring. I gave them all his updated records, vet info, and the names and phone numbers of both owners. Decided to try again, even though my gut said no, because all the reviews on here were so good. Booked for June. Now I have received multiple calls from them about vet records, all of which they have. (obviously, since he just stayed there) The staff have been rude on the phone and have no clue that I've already had this discussion with other staff; VERY apparent the right hand has no idea what the left is doing. This place is one big mess. I will trust myself and NEVER take my pets back to this place. If they can't keep their records straight and don't follow through with the care that was promised, how can I trust them to monitor my pet when I am not there?!? I am disgusted and disappointed, to say the least! ZERO STARS, ZERO RECOMMENDATION! read more

Our dog Tucker, a 4 year old Golden Retriever has only been boarded with one kennel, which is the Lodge for Pampered Pets. He absolutely loves the place (which means we do as well), he races in (very energetic) greets every one and prances around as if he in finally home. Thankfully he reacts the same way when we pick him up. The kennels themselves are very roomy, always clean, and all the dogs get plenty of exercise. Never have had to worry about him while we were away. Would recommend highly to anyone that loves their pet and wants the best for him/her. read more

We have been taking our dogs to The Lodge for Pampered Pets for quite a few years. They are more than just a kennel, they truly love and care for our dogs as if they were their own. The staff goes out of their way for any special needs or requests. We also like that our dogs get playtime outside in a fenced in area.
