When I came for the first time, I was loving it, but my second visit last week left me a bit disappointed. Yeah it's a brilliant club - I fell in love with it then they played the theme tune to Fresh Prince of Bell Air. ahh .... Saying that, they played 'football's coming home' at least 4 times throughout the night - I couldn't help but count. It got a bit annoying. They had brilliant drinks offers though, I got 4 shots and a vodka + mixer for £6, so I was pleased (and tipsy). The club itself was a bit messy and the floor was sticky, but it's a nightclub afterall. The men were particularly sleazy - I was invited back to numerous house parties, but that's not the clubs fault. I would definitely come back here, I loved my first night and was maybe too sober for the second night, but the best things come in three's, right?

A student-only club owned by Lancaster University Student Union. This means you can only get in if…read moreyour a student. Another thing is that the drinks are cheap and your basic student drinks. The music is generally mediocre, and the atmosphere is dead on most nights nowadays, but is booming on certain nights. Friday Fury and certain live gigs, bring the crowds from the uni, and make it a fun, albeit stuffy place. The no-drinks on the dance floor rule is heavily enforced by burly bouncers, and they are very quick to chuck people out. So that part is never fun. Can be up to £4 to get in, unless you come when the doors are open and the place is empty. Bar service is the slowest in Lancaster, and you can spend forever queuing and being pushed around when trying to order a drink on a busy night. So pick your night carefully, and have fun. Because at least you don't have old balding single guys staring at you all night.

Its had a good scrub out in recent years and is much better than it once was, but it is still abit of a dive. Recently a monthly music club night has been started, run by mighty boof promotions. This has really improved the credibility of the place by drawing in the indie crowd. The groundfloor has a bar and seating. The first floor is 60s,70s and 80s and chart type music - it has seating and a dancefloor. The upper floor is either rave or indie depending on the night and is frequented by the younger crowd.

I'm only as perturbed as I am under the illusion that finding a place that was once owned by Johnny Depp means I'm now married to him. Okay, so this particular Viper Rooms wasn't owned by Johnny Depp but it shares the same name. That is close enough for me. Now will it live up to expectations? Well actually yes it does. It's housed in a Grade II listed building and inside they've spared little expense. We're talking four bars surrounded by multiple rooms and a mad mix up of music as well. You'll get anything from disco to Hip Hop. It is beautiful, it really is. A special mention goes out the centre piece chandelier and quite awesome (not to mention comfortable) leather sofas throughout. To get you in the mood and your disco shoes raring the drinks menu will blow you away. It beats some clubs I've been to with a huge selection of cocktails, wines, fizz and beer. This is grade A stuff. It may be a little mainstream for some people's tastes but just go with the flow and enjoy the venue if nothing else.

The setting of the place is very modern and stylish, with granite bricks, African style ornamental pieces, glass and great lighting. The bar is well stocked to serve and mix a variety of cocktails, all quite tasty and affordable, the shot mixtures are definitely the nicest though. The music can be a bit hit and miss - last time I went they seemed to be stuck on an RnB/mainstream Hiphop loop which doesn't appeal to me at all, nowadays I think it's more varied. Concrete is one of those 'moment' places, it's a place people go if everyone else seems to be going (this was especially relevant when it just opened when I was at uni and all the students went just because 'everyone else will be there') and during these times you can be queuing outside for a long time - longest for me was an hour, and I only waited that long as my housemate at the time was the Student Union president and wanted support, otherwise I would have moved to another bar. Other times, Concrete can be so empty it lacks atmosphere - hit and miss - can be great, can be boring, just make sure you go with a few friends.

Which is proberbly true. The music varies from cheese like High School Musical, to Pop/Indie to Dance. So you can please most in your group for a short while. The drinks are relatively cheap, and the DJ is an old perv. And i've been told that its usual for girls to be felt up by random guys atleast once a night. But all that aside, its a good place for alot of student drunk fun! I would recommend it as the ONLY place to go on a Wednesday night.

Was delighted by the fun and friendly atmosphere in here and we really enjoyed ourselves. This place is really electric and everyone was having a great night. There was a GAGA tribute act on and we were blown away by the similarities, must confess I was convinced it was the real thing haha, or gaga.... Really friendly Team and we found the prices pretty reasonable too, would defo recommend and will surely be going again)
