Wine list was not overly ambitious and showed very careful selection and included a couple of bargains such as a Calif. central coast Cab Sav with a little age. The chips were amazing which was brilliant for my partner as all holiday she has seen everyone around her eat lovely food while all she could eat was the most basic things. We did not enjoy the food, I thought it pricey for the kind of food you'd get in a pub.

Naturally, not wanting bad bellies, my mum and aunt refused. The barman then walked away and did not speak to us again during the whole time. We received no apology at all and were not offered anything else or even a partial refund. Not a word was said to us even as we left. This was our only meal out for our holiday here and we were really looking forward to it. We were mostly disappointed that we did not even receive an apology and there was no compassion at all. My best recommendation to all would be to AVOID this pub. However if you are happy with a bit of gone-off food and no compassion or understanding from the staff, this may be the pub for you! (Or perhaps not). I'm sure that this lack of compassion will be followed up via a comment from management, especially given the other comments given back on other customers' reviews.

It is certainly not the place to go for quick, cheap nosh-up. This is the other end of the scale, with all dishes being painstakingly put together and presented. The serving staff have expert knowledge of all things being served, showing chef-like passion themselves for the dishes and food on offer. You do get the fancy, rather large plates with what appears to be a small portion of the food delicately arranged in the middle, with dribs and drabs of the relevant sauces around the outside. However, the quality is superb, and the portions are actually rather good. This is certainly not to everyone's taste, but if you are looking for fine dining with excellent quality food (and you have a lot of money) this is the place to go without doubt.
