stopped by here after our 14 mile walk along the coast. this place is advertised as a pub but wants to be a restaurant.
my husband went up to the bar to order drinks and food while my dog and i waited at a table near the door (as we don't like to disturb anyone just in case they're afraid of dogs). my dog was sleeping, simply knackered after the days activity. after several minutes of waiting, a server walks by to let me know they don't allow dogs. not a problem, my mistake. as i'm gathering our things, she also stops me to let me know that we're not allowed outside the pub either. -this was great delivery.
i called to my husband to let him know to cancel the order. -there are plenty of other food and drink options. the bartender and server exchanged words since the bartender wasn't clear on why a dog isn't allowed outside the pub. and since we already placed our order, she let us know it was ok to sit outside. when the server came out, she practically threw the plate at us and muttered as she walked off, "condiments by the dj booth."
quite honestly, i would've been fine to not be a patron at this restaurant. delivery was poor, clearly not looking to raise the profile of the restaurant or provide customer service. kudos to the bartender for asking questions and challenging the server. she had far more business sense than the rest of the crew. read more
