In the middle of nowhere, I was hungry and stopped at this place. Got a pepperoni pizza, that was nothing but salt and grease. By far worst pizza I have ever tasted. Service was pretty good, other than that, it's an older building like everything else in the area. I will not be coming back.

True hidden gem and extremely unassuming place. The pizza was balanced, thin, crunchy, and with the right amount of chewiness. Fresh flavors and would 100% recommend. Must stop if passing through.

The margherita pizza is our gold standard when judging a new spot, and The Lost Frenchmen nails it. A simple but saucy red pie, fresh mozzarella and basil, and an undercarriage that holds up when pulled from the rest -- no floppy slices here. Pair the margherita with a local beer and you've got the perfect reward after coming off the Lost Coast Trail. It'll fix what ales you.

    Pizza was great!

Strawberry salad and pizza were fantastic!! Loved eating outside on the patio. The carrot cake for desert made it perfect. Would eat here again.

The tar pizza was refreshing and delicious.

We were on a road trip through the Redwoods and decided to stop at The Lost Frenchman after hearing how dog-friendly their patio is. We are so glad we did! The owners greeted us like old friends - baby balanced on one hip - and immediately brought fresh water for our dogs. The staff was super attentive and made our group feel at home. We shared a grilled artichoke appetizer, a cheese plate and a delicious wood-fired Tar pizza, all made with fresh, organic ingredients. The whole vibe was warm, relaxed, and completely dog-friendly. We left happy, full, and can't wait to return to this charming spot!

You'll be surprised by the quality of the food, freshness of ingredient, real brick oven, beautiful art by world famous artist, stylish menu, at such a remote and rural area! The owner and workers are proud of what they offer to the community or tourist from everywhere. One of the best authentic perfect pizza I've had. From someone who has been to Italy and many metropolitan cities around the world. This is the kind of business I will go out of my way to support.

My eyes popped out of my head when I saw biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs on the menu. Wholesome fresh ingredients, much organic, and local sources. And house-made sausage! My taste buds were salivating. Love ME ME ME biscuits and gravy gravvvvvvy! Let's see how it stacks up with Portland foodie-town biscuits and gravy. Thick pool of gravy with big chunks of peppery Italian sausage. Two fresh crunchy outside and butter buttery tasting moist inside biscuits. It's hot. It smells so tempting. And it is delicious. Trust me. Chow out! This is a homemade farmboy style breakfast. You need a big fill up before you go work in the fields on grandpa's farm like I did when I was a boy. Grandma made the best biscuits and gravy. So did my Tarhill North Carolina aunt. Breakfast here takes me back to those good old days piggin out on good wholesome grub. as good as any restaurant breakfast I've had in Portland! The biscuits and gravy really sticks to your ribs! Yum! Tara - all smiles and friendly - the kitchen chef this morning and owner cooked up my breakfast today. She's awesome! You'll love what she's doing here on the menu. I love the vibe! My wife and I had the pizza here on our road trip through in January. And now coming back through and made this a destination we have to stop at. Oh, we're coming back for the pizza tonight because it is that delish thin crust with any ingredients you can imagine under the sun. Yum! Get ya some!

Wonderful food, good service, excellent family-owned restaurant. We've had pizza, pulled pork, and paninis here; all of them were great.

Wood fired pizza, you can't find pizza like this anywhere anymore. A hole in the wall, well worth the drive

So this place is pretty good. Portion sizes are solid, the beer is good, the presentation is…read more.. presentable, and the vibes are epic AF. I feel like there are just enough haters leaving ridiculously negative reviews that completely lack the geographic awareness required to understand why anyone comes to a place called the MF Lost Coast. For starters, there are only like 3-6 places to go, period, let alone a restaurant where you can grab dinner and drinks. Why, you ask, my kind denizen of anti-reviews? Because you're on a stretch of far Northern California coastline that's practically cut off from mainstream civilization. There's one road in and out, and the closest town is at least an hour away, let alone a proper grocery store. No drug stores. No Uber Eats. And, most blasphemous of all, no Costco. Or, if you prefer your single-serving organic vegetables wrapped in plastic, no Trader Jizzles. So yeah... for reasons, no one fucking lives here. I, for one, love this place. Is it perfect? No. Is it a deal? Absolutely not. But is it the best place within an hour to kick up your feet after a long day outdoorsing? Hell fucking yes. And if you actually want places like this to survive on a remote finger of the Northern California coast for years to come, maybe tell your single-serving, artisanal, Trader Blows organic attitude to get lost... somewhere else.
