Total of 7. On arrival there seemed to be plenty of staff, adults not kids to serve food, some music was playing somewhere in the background. Plenty of room between tables and plenty of tables to seating areas. Table booked for 12.30 & the place was steadily filling up around us. We where presented with the Sunday lunch menus, which were clean & easy to read. A drinks order was taken, which included tea/Coffee/Soft drinks & alcohol, this arrived pretty quickly. Next the food order of mainly Beef was ordered but 1 had lamb & 1 pork. This again arrived on large oval plates with a Yorkshire pudding, mash, roast spuds & gravy already on. 2 large platters of Vegetables, extra gravy boat, large mushy peas bowl. This was followed by a few deserts for some of Banoffe cheese cake, apple/Rhubarb Crumble. Looked home made. Table cleared quickly on completion of each course. The food was out of this world, my husband had scampi and I had lasagne, both were off the 2 for £10 menu and the portions were huge. Real chips too :) A major point for us is a good landlord, and the landlord and landlady here are superb, extremely friendly and really bent over backwards to make sure that we had a good experience, especially when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary. We will be back regularly now and can't recommend highly enough. Just hope the bad reviews caused by the previous owners don't put people off.

He is sadly no longer with us, but after a stay on the hottest days last summer, I know staff worked long and hard to keep everything cool. Also, after lockdowns, when kennels everywhere were full, and I didn't know when exactly I needed to travel, due to a family emergency, Ryan offered to find my dog a place whenever I needed, and followed through. It was one less thing for me to worry about, and I was very touched by their kindness. So I really can't speak more highly of everyone here.

Not hugely flavorful and the sauce was quite runny while the pasta was a bit too soft. To be fair, I am used to American style, which I've observed can be quire different than how the British prepare mac n cheese, so that could be a factor in my rating. For mains we had a fish and chips - the fish was a bit too dry for my liking and the chips were under cooked but the mushy peas were good; 10 oz rib eye steak - it was wolfed down in minutes it was cooked to perfection; cajun chicken burger - chicken was tender and nicely flavoured and the sweet potato chips were not soggy at all; pork belly with mustard mash - I felt that this was the winning dish (again, sorry my picture looks crap) the pork had the right amount of fat and the lean parts were tender. When I noticed that crackling was missing, the waiter brought a whole side dish of it and they were GOOD! All crisp and no annoying chew! I was honestly too full to eat dessert but our friends ordered a sticky toffee pudding and a hot chocolate brownie smothered in chocolate sauce. They came piping hot and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Both were generously portioned and were tasty according to my friends. Definitely come and try out their food.
