After speaking with a number of my neighbors (I was so old school in my pre-Yelp days), I decided to see Dr Jill Mikkelson in the Waunakee office of Bakke Chiropractic. And I'm so glad I did. After just a couple of visits, I went from looking like an eighty year hunchback to my usual chipper self. As a first time patient, Dr. Mikkelson did a great of diagnosing the problem and explaining the proposed treatment. She also discussed posture improvements and adjustments to my home office set-up to prevent the neck problems from re-occurring. The office staff is very friendly and efficient. Making the appointment was a snap and the insurance paperwork was handled without a problem. Should I need to make a future visit to the chiropractor, I won't hesitate to return to Dr. Mikkelson.

She made a great start on loosening up some areas that are consistently tight, and I can already feel the difference. Prior to your massage, the therapist will chat briefly with you about your goals for the session. They also offer water and a small snack plate (sliced apple and carrot, cracker, and chocolate) which you can enjoy before or after your massage, which is a really nice touch. Following the massage, they'll let you know what areas of tension they noticed, and give suggestions for things you can do at home to help relieve them. Their scheduling system is a little unusual - you don't make an appointment for a certain length of massage. Rather you choose wellness session or full body treatment- each of which has a time range. It's not clear how the therapist decides on the length of the session, although you are able to let them know if you need to be done in a certain amount of time. Also, although they have evening and weekend hours, those seem to be booked well in advance, so if you don't have daytime availability it may be difficult to get in. Street parking is easy to find, but is 2 hours during the day, which might be a problem with longer sessions. Overall this is a really nice place for a massage, and I definitely recommend Geri!
