When I approached the staff they told me that I could be compensated with a head massage (which i did not receive in my actual 'hour long' massage) I refused as I was already dressed and slightly frustrated to which they completely ignored me and my further questions. NOT only did I have to pay for the full hour but I had also noticed that my masseuse was also swapped half way through, too which I noticed the quality of the massage dramatically changed and not for the good.

Perfect pressure and I'm instantly sent to my own utopia as I conclude this pamper session to be just what the doctor ordered and the best 40 bucks I've spent in a long time. We've been to Surinda's about 8 times combined...each massage has been completely different from the last (although we ask for the same thing). There's no consistency or standard among the "therapists". Surinda's is close to home, so we have been popping in when we're desperate, but beyond that...a true Thai massage it is not. When I say not a true Thai massage...I'm qualified to judge, trust. You should know that typically in a proper Thai massage, you would be provided loose cotton shorts and halter tie top (women) and not rubbed down with oil like a turkey on Thanksgiving. Your therapist wouldn't apply friction to your body with the same fervor a boyscout attempting to light piece of kindle. You wouldnt have elbows dug deep into your spine, other bony processes or crack of your naked bum. You'd be on a mat on the floor being stretched and begging for muscle mercy, in that therapeutic a good kind of way (really!)...not on a table with your therapist perched precariously above you, teetering her 90lb body on the edge (please god dont fall!). Your therapist wouldnt keep wandering in and out of the room to greet other clients, answer the phone or get a luke-warm towel to wipe off all that grease she just smothered you in. I had one really good massage here, with a girl named Pa who has since left, hence an extra star for her. The place is definitely cleaner and less skeevy than some of the dodgier Thai massage places Ive seen, but still not up to par to charge $90 for a one hour deep tissue massage. Id still go for a foot massage if my dogs are barking...but will be on the hunt for the real deal. Havent tried any of the "beauty" or skincare treatments and prrrrobably won't.

We got a discounted deal from a group-buying website: a 90-minute relaxation package worth $140 for $59 per person which included- 1. A 60-minute Thai massage; 2. A soothing 15-minute foot bath and scrub that uses your foot's reflex point to stimulate blood circulation; 3. A15-minute Thai herbal sauna The massage was hypnotic; I was so relaxed, I almost fell asleep! The sauna is in an authentic Thai-style hut and the herb really gets under the pores of your skin, leaving it supple and smooth. The staff were very attentive but also knew when to leave us alone so we could catch up on girly goss. The tea at reception was a nice touch and they even organized a table in the corner for our nibbles, cheese and fruit platters, and champagne.

Small venue means only curtains separate the rooms, so when the massage is good and someone snores, you hear it. If the sound doesn't bother you it's still a very good massage. While the massage itself felt wonderful, they don't use aromatic oils or lotions - they basically use tiger bomb- hope the medicine-like smell doesn't bother you. I broke out in hives later that night, and I think it may have been the oversized pants they had me wear during my massage. Personally I prefer just going naked, but that wasn't an option here. It was only $65 for 1 hour, so that was pretty cool. But I would pay more for silence & clear skin... I will not be returning. Random side note: The tea they serve is awesome. My shoulders and neck have become as stiff as a board from sitting at my desk for hours every day. However, 30 minutes later I can now actually rotate my head and shoulders again. If you've never experienced a 'real' Chinese remedial massage before, it is very different to the more common Thai massages which are great but seem to do more for one's mental well-being. Chinese massages are more about dealing with core problems and getting your body sorted out like getting the knots out of your neck and back. My massage therapist had hand strength that was phenomenal bringing a new definition of a fine line between pleasure and pain! There are many positives about Healing Hands. Most importantly, the massage was great and effective. Other positives; extremely reasonable prices which become even better after you get back a health fund rebate, easy parking, friendly staff who can communicate in good English. I'm going back again next week for session 2. I read that they also offer a variety of other therapies like cupping and foot reflexology which I'd be interested in trying down the track. If you are looking for a luxurious spa environment, this is not the place for you. Healing Hands is clean, comfortable and minimalistic inside. The location is tucked in a bit so quite easy to miss if passing by. You would come here to get your body sorted out without the bells and whistles and they did this very well for me (so far).
