I heard that there was a new casual, counter service eatery in Palladio Town Center in Folsom. I was a bit hesitant to go when I heard the name of the joint was called "The Melt". Being lactose intolerant, I thought for sure there would hardly be anything on the menu I would want or can eat. I was wrong! They got Melt Burgers ( including Impossible Melts) $8-10, Melted Classics (sandwiches) $8-10, Mac n Cheesy entrees, Chicken sandwiches, Fries, Tomato soup, Salads, and Shakes. Sure the recurring menu theme is cheese, real dairy based cheese. But it is optional. You can order minus the cheese, except for the Mac n Cheesy items. I ordered the steak & cheese sandwich minus the cheese and jalapeño peppers. The sandwich came out exactly as ordered. But the angus beef that they used looked and tasted like gyro meat. It was slivered thin slices like you would find in a gyro. It was tasty, just not what I expected. The buttered grilled bread it was served on was delicious as were the grilled onions and red peppers. The fries were served salted, hot n crispy with a dusting of a green colored seasoning. Not sure what that was, it did not have a very distinctive taste. I enjoyed the fries, green mystery seasoning and all. I am throwing that mention out there since you might have little ones that are finicky eaters. Hubs ordered the Original Melt Burger. It is an 1/3 pound patty of chopped angus and Wagyu beef patty topped with melted cheddar cheese sauce and jalapeño pickle mix served on an artisan burger bun. Since it is a chopped beef patty, it had a different texture than a ground beef patty. Different but still yummy. Each burger and sandwich was served with a pickle spear. I got super excited about the fountain sodas. The sodas are made with cane sugar and not HFCS. But their ketchup has HFCS. Parking at the Palladio can be challenging at times, but found a spot right across from the entrance. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. The outside seating area is big and spacious and has a lot of beautiful plants around it. Came in with my wife. The cashier Rhea guided us through the menu and we both ordered the "original" melt burger and fries, along with some iced tea. The French fries were spiced well, not sure what the spice on them was but tasted great. Not overpowering at all. Food is reasonably priced and represents a good value. Beautiful minimalist interior with Folsom decor in one wall. The menu is simple so I was able to decide on my order fast. My tastebuds were pleasantly surprised that the burger had a little kick to it due to the chopped jalapeño and pickle! I love the real shredded Parmesan cheese on the garlic Parmesan fries! The service is top tier, the employees are always making sure you feel welcome. As a fellow palladio worker I love chitchatting with the staff. They are all very approachable and friendly. Absolutely love this place! The food and service are amazing. Ladaja was so friendly, welcoming, charismatic and helpful. She brought a menu to us so it was easier to read than than looking up at the big overhead menus. Note: you can order through a touchscreen kiosk or up front with a worker (like at Panera). She made some great suggestions (it helped that we had similar tastes). I got the Garlic Chicken Bacon Mac and Queso de Mayo Melt (added raw onion; you can also add lettuce and tomato for free). I liked the melt sando better, which I was surprised about because I'm more of a mac person. The sando just had better, more rounded flavor. I had originally planned on getting the Mac sando, but decided on the Queso since I was getting a bacon Mac. But, the mac was still good. Definitely tasted the garlic, chicken, and the bacon. I just wish the cheese sauce was thicker..it was a bit watery to me. I would highly recommend both (as long as you like the ingredients in them) as they were both delicious and I would order them again. The location is on the corner. They have seating indoors and outdoors and a large garage door opening, which is great for good weather. Not much seating when it's limited to indoors though (less than 10 tables). It gives industrial vibes. I wish this place was closer cus I can't wait to come back. I want to try a burger and some fries next time! The burger was so juicy and wonderfully cheesy. The fries were very well seasoned. My husband doesn't like cheese (I dragged him along anyway) and they were able to easily accommodate him by making his spicy mission meltburger without cheese. He enjoyed it and said the jalapeños were just right. We both had a cherry soda which we were surprised was VERY cherry. We balanced out our second rounds by mixing it with cola. The decor was very fun. I loved the Folsom sign with the bridge. The weather was really nice and I thought the huge open door concept was great. If you're a fan of the artificial strawberry flavor, you'll enjoy the shake. The service was not up to par when I visited. We had to go back and ask for some extra toppings.
