When I visit my mom once a month, my family meets for brunch on Sundays. This time we decided to meet at The Mill Kitchen in Roswell. My meal was good and I had a lot of food!! I'm not one for taking breakfast food to go when there is food left on my plate but I would have if I didn't have to drive 2 hours to get back home. I ordered GF toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, potato hash and grits. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. It took a minute to get our food but other than that I have no complaints. I loved that they had a great variety of hot teas and that we were seated in the sun room which was really nice. I'm not an "eat outdoors" kinda gal (although they do have that option) but it was nice to enjoy the sunlight and scenery and still be inside away from the bugs and pollen. read more

The Mill is a perfect spot for brunch. They have a great menu variety and everything we ordered tasted incredible. We had the chilaquiles and the Mill burger. The burger might be one of the best we've had with the pimento cheese and bacon marmalade on a double patty. Got to enjoy a lunch here in the private room on the upstairs floor. This was absolutely so cute and fantastic. The elevator went straight up to this floor and opened up just to our party room, which was great. It was also great to see that there was a bar available and open, and the staff was so incredibly gracious during this entire lunch. It was a family launch of approximately 50 to 60 people celebrating the wedding the day prior. The food options were delicious. The portions were definitely fair and everybody enjoyed their food, regardless of whether they got the steak, the fried chicken or even the salmon. The dessert was incredible too. I believe it was some type of a chocolate ganache cake, and this was incredibly rich and delicious. My girlfriend and I were in the area and wanted to try a new restaurant to us. I saw some reviews about The Mill Kitchen and suggested we meetup there. We chose to sit on the patio since the weather was mild and we enjoyed prop-watching. Our server was kind and suggested we start with the fried green tomatoes and they were really tasty. We also ordered the pork chop and I so happy it was cooked perfectly and so juicy. I also think the potato salad and asparagus served with it was a great pairing. Came here with a party of 6 for my best friend's birthday dinner. I was really excited about this menu. I almost never peek at the menu if I have never been to a restaurant. I peeked. My wife got a tagliatelle pasta that was a combination of cacio e pepe and blue crab meat. Looked delicious but my wife said it lacked flavor. I had the exact opposite experience. I couldn't resist the description of the dish I ordered. Let's just say I talked about kimchi potatoes and pea tendrils most of the appetizer course. Here is the full description: Kimchi roasted potatoes, garlic spinach, cucumber, bourbonyaki vinaigrette, wasabi-lime aioli, pea tendrils. I am almost never surprised by much but the combinations made no sense to me, so of course I ordered it. This was a FANSTASTIC dish! Everything crusted seared tuna with (yes) kimchi potatoes with braised greens with a sauce that was bursting with acid. Epic flavor combinations and so incredibly unique. 10 stars for this dish. Our server, Gianna, was incredibly knowledgeable about the evening's offerings, including the menu and the best cocktails. I savored the delicious meatballs and shrimp pasta, which Gianna explained was made in-house. As I ate, I imagined a satin ribbon (pasta) adorning my plate. Our waiter helped me with a wine pairing to go with trout. They have heaters in the tent which actually got a little too hot. We visited on a Friday night, and parking was strictly valet. I asked the attendant to confirm, and he did. Unless there's a secret entrance in the back (which we weren't told about), we had to park in the rear lot and walk all the way around to the front entrance. I wouldn't have minded on a nice spring day, but this was winter with an ice storm approaching, so not ideal. Once inside and seated, we were handed quite a stack: a weekend dinner specials sheet, a Roswell Restaurant Week menu, a bourbon list, a cocktail menu, and the regular dinner menu. It was a bit overwhelming, and I had to ask the server to come back later so we could actually look everything over. We started with the blackened brie, a "bubbly" flight for my wife, and an Old Fashioned for me. The brie was very good, especially the bread it was served with. We later learned the bread comes from a nearby bakery, which we'll definitely be checking out. For entrées, I ordered the pork chop and my wife had the blackened salmon. Both dishes were well prepared and enjoyable. Service overall was good. My main issue was the noise level. It started out pleasant, but by the end of the meal it had become difficult to carry on a normal conversation. Overall, while the food and service were good, the restaurant felt a bit pricey for what it offers. In my opinion, prices would feel more appropriate if they were about 10-15% lower. read more

We ate here during the holidays for the decor and had amazing service. While my girls enjoyed the decorations, it ranked lower on my list of comparable places we'd been to during the season. I had a chicken Caesar salad and while quite basic there wasn't anything particularly delicious or different about it. My girls had kids meals and they didn't really care for their meals either. Went there this week. I have been several times, but never for lunch. Dinners have always been satisfying. I'd also attended a wonderful rehearsal done of the year for about 30 people and it was wonderful. Lunch, not so much. This photo is of the Mill Cobb I ordered less the tomatoes. Four little squares of avocado, maybe an eighth of an ounce of bacon and very small. My guest got her entrée salad before the soup. She had to ask for the soup and eat it at the same time. I had the blackened salmon and the Pineapple Express drink. The salmon was so good, it felt like the flavors were exploding! It was so delicious! The Pineapple Express was also great. The menu said griddled Texas toast but mine came with barely toasted, very soft thin sandwich bread. The bread was on top of way over dressed greens that were inedible because of the heavy and too acidic amount of dressing. My sister had the Caesar salad with salmon and she loved it though. Opted for the Mill for Christmas Eve dinner. The place has a good vibe. Old farm house that has been converted to a restaurant complete with multiple rooms. The service is superb. Our waiter was efficient, informed, timely and accurate with a smile. We had a limited menu for the holiday which had a variety of choices. The baked brie appetizer with raspberry compote was delicious. Nice big drink menu as well to satisfy every pallet. Unfortunately the kitchen seemed to be struggling a bit. My guest had blackened salmon which was overcooked and dry. I had the filet which was cooked ok but a really subpar piece of meat. The brussel sprouts were grossly overcooked and I didn't care for the black and blue mac and cheese at all. Overall it wasn't a great evening, but not horrible. This is a very cute place. It's huge & would be great for parties if you have $50+ per person. There were fresh flowers & candlelight. The bread & butter was very good or maybe I was just hungry. The side caesar salad was delicious. The salmon with spinach and substitute some mashed potatoes-all very good to K. K said the salmon was really juicy and he loved the sauce. The salmon and sauce is not my favorite, but I don't usually like salmon. The crab cakes are a ton of crab and goodness and seasoned real nice. The brussel sprouts were good (I would add a tiny bit of salt) and crunchy how I like. I gave my cooked apples from it to K. My mashed potatoes had a very unique taste like a hint of applesauce or something. The tartar sauce was very good. The food came out in a decent amount of time and our server, David, was awesome and friendly. David said to come back for brunch, so maybe on a non-holiday when the prices would be decent. read more

I've had this place on my radar since we moved to Roswell because I had passed by it a few times and it looked nice. We finally made it here for lunch last Saturday afternoon. Hubby and I ordered and shared a bottle of wine, the blackened brie, the deviled eggs, and the burger. The brie was good and I loved the candied pecans that came with it but I'm not convinced it's worth the hefty price tag for what is essentially a rather small appetizer. I was not a fan of the deviled eggs. I just didn't like the flavor at all and would not order it again. The burger was better. It was cooked perfectly and had good flavor to it. Overall, it was a decent meal and service was also decent. I wouldn't swear it off and may give it another chance at some point but to be honest, there was not enough wow factor to justify the price (our bill was just over $100 before tip, including a $42 bottle of wine). I don't mind paying a premium for a worthy dining experience but it sucks to pay a premium for average. Average food and average service should be accompanied by average prices. I didn't hate it but didn't love it either, so we likely won't be back anytime soon as there are far too many great options in the area for us to settle. The inside is very nice and the outside covered area includes fans which provides an excellent dining experience. The table service is always great with an amazing waitstaff, especially the waitress Trudy who is very attentive, extremely welcoming, and helpful. This experience was a bit disappointing only because of having an extended wait despite having a reservation, however the bar area is a great place to wait with excellent service. The food is always very solid. There are a couple excellent items but everything that me and those with me have had, have been great. I'm still a little confused about the vibe of The Mill. When we walked in, it was very loud and people were gathered in the bar area like it was more of a bar food type of location. That's totally fine with me, but then once seated in another section, it was still incredibly loud and I realized the food prices are more like a $$$ type place. So it just didn't match. There was some kind of foul smell the Friday night I went. Seemed to be a plumbing issue because my party realized at one point the employees cleared sprayed something to try to mask the smell. The spray did help so I was grateful for that. For dinner, I had the braised short rib and it was quite good. My mom had the soup of the day which was potato and I thought that was great. I really enjoyed our night out here! We made a reservation for 7pm on a Friday evening. We started with the deviled eggs and they were wonderful. I ordered some kind of fall/winter sangria and loved it as we snacked on apps. For my meal I got the short rib. It came with green beans which were cooked so perfectly. We sat out on the dog-friendly patio which had a great vibe. It was a Saturday night, beautiful fall weather, and not terribly crowded. Fans, a fireplace, comfortable seating. Inside was gorgeous and well themed. Some street noise, as expected, but music was the perfect level. We tried several local IPAs and went with the waiter recommended Cashmere as well as "The Owner's Old Fashioned" made with a Maker's Mark selected bourbon. Andrew, our waiter, hit it out of the ballpark with his service and every recommendation, including the Rootbeer Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs. Every flavor and texture was perfectly balanced & complimented each other. This was the best dish we had on our trip, and easily the best short rib we have ever had. 10/10. For dessert Andrew recommended the house made carrot cake, which I couldn't have due to an allergy but my fiance loved. The apple crumble cake was delicious. read more

This is such a great place. We chose to sit inside due to the thunder. We had a nice corner table in the bar area. It wasn't super busy yet so the service was really fast. Our waitress, Tierney, was excellent. The scallops were plump and seared to perfection. The risotto had nice chunks of lobster. The deviled eggs were smokey with a little zip. My wife had the shrimp and grits. She cleared her bowl. The shrimp were large. I also had a grey goose and grapefruit which was well balanced. It is a little pricey but the food is very good.
