This is a really dang cool spot for events I am sure of it. Its huge, with tons of space both indoors and outdoors. Truly a former grain mill converted to a winery and event center with quite a unique, rustic, but modern, western feel to it. I did not find the place super busy on the late afternoon evening I arrived but a yoga class was about to start soon in the adjacent room next to the main bar and check-out counters. I thought that was pretty cool that they do group yoga and wine tasting in that space. The tap/keg system they have here for wine is way cool! For the wine fanatic like me vs beer, I like seeing the priority to the wine for once but don't downplay beer here either, they have several taps of local beer also, quite a few actually. They have 4 tap wines to pick from, house sangria, 2 reds, and a white. I tried all of them and enjoyed them thoroughly. I also got a "growler" or wine bottle rather I can keep and come back to fill up for a discounted price. The bottle is just $15 the first time and then its yours to keep. I went with the red Cab as my choice which is made from 100% California grapes. I took a stroll around the grounds and found myself a seat outside in the sun and just chillaxed for a while, enjoying my wine and taking in the calm of the place. By this time 8-10 others had come in and found seats outside in the covered gazebo spaces, they have here to do the same. Heather, the GM, and her two women staffers were awesome people. Professional and social, kind and helpful. Made me feel very welcome there. I get the vibe most of their guests feel the same way be it first-timers like me or regulars. They do have a small plates menu for food orders as well so that is something to consider when your here if you need more than just some really good wine or beer to put down. Either way, you won't be disappointed with a stop at this place.

The silo sitting areas are so cool! Enjoyed on a chilly winter night! Had a cookies & cream beer that mixed incredibly with orange soda! Must go to!!

Finally made it to this gem after living here a year. This is an excellent place to sit and relax. They have everything from beer to wine and frozen drinks. Atmosphere was amazing and we were greeted as soon as we walked in by the outside bartender. He gave us the run down on how everything worked. They even have snack food you can order. We will definitely go back soon!

    Neat place!

What a great place! Take one of Abilene's old buildings, modernize it, throw in a bunch of greenery and fountains, live music, and a fantastic patio and you have The Mill. Officially a wine bar, they run lots of specials, have a food truck on site, and you can rent it for your event. The silo shaded areas are just too neat. Thursday night is steak night, which we thought was "ok". I don't drink, but Glenda throughly enjoyed several glasses of Sangria. It sure puts her in a good mood! Definitely come check out The Mill. You'll enjoy yourself!

Really cute place to have a chill night. They have a nice selection of wine and beer along with some food items.

Been here a few time for steak Thursday. Also been here with the Big Country 100 men who care, and The Mill has been great to us. Steak night is great, get here early if you want to sit in the silos. They have some great local craft beers and I guess some wine (we are not wine drinkers)

No dogs allowed is not a very friendly wine tasting venue. Especially if they have outdoor seating. Never got to taste the wines. We're in an RV traveling around the country doing wineries. Where the toy poodles aren't welcome neither are we. Another great winery in Abilene. Wine taste outside on a Creek with the pups. NOTE* THIS PICTURE WAS NOT AT THIS WINERY

    Porch area. Too many flies.

Came for steak night on Thursday evening. The place is lovely. Had to sit outside since inside was closed. Food was decent although slightly overpriced. The meat and chicken were cooked well. The sides have a lot of room for improvement. Would come back to try other dishes and when money isn't tight or not on a budget.

Second visit. Love the outdoor seating even on a hot day. Enjoyed the win and the wine-a-Rita's! Have not ordered food but look forward to returning.

This isn't Abilene, anymore. You're walking into a great atmosphere. Outdoor seating area, large dancing floor, event spaces, Wine on tap (yes!), beers on tap, food, deserts by Sweets du Jour (also, yes!), and cigars. The decor is perfectly rustic and western. This place is set for success. Book your weddings here, or just come and enjoy a glass of sangria in the large patio area.

It's one of those wood…read moreslat, metal sign restaurants that have no character besides being in a generic shopping center that pretends to be fancier than it is, so it just ends up looking like a cold soulless shell. The interior is that frigid, lifeless faux fancy industrial aesthetic that chills your senses and has no character of its own. The menu is what you expect. Nothing special or original just benign takes on traditional fare, like Blackened Ribeyes. We were In Abilene because my family gathered to watch my nephew's football debut at Hardin-Simmons University. My wife ordered the Caesar Salad and Truffle fries. The salad was limp, and the dressing was tangy like it was mixed with Dijon mustard Her Truffle Fries had an okay flavor. The dipping sauces were good but nothing great but the nail in the coffin was the fries were cold. Not cold as in sitting in the warmer cold, we're talking OUT ON THE COUNTER FOR 10 MINUTES OR MORE COLD!! I got the Waygu Smash burger. The burger patties, pickles, and everything inside were good but it was served on a fancy bun that was also cold. Not sitting on the counter for 10 minutes cold, we're talking RIGHT OUT OF THE FRIDGE COLD. Fancy buns should be lightly toasted to make the dense bread bearable. It totally failed my bun to juiciness ratio, and to top it off my fries were also COLD. My daughter got the Ahi Tuna Ponzo. I didn't taste it because I was busy eating my cold bun, cold fries. Plus my wife's Dijon Caesar Salad because she despises mustard. But she seemed to like it, that's why this review is three stars instead of two. She said it was "Slightly nutty and the vinaigrette is sharp and fresh without being overwhelming the tuna is seasoned nicely and it's a fatty cut not fishy at all." Listen, you could say "if it's cold send it back. Make them fix it." But the truth is that it doesn't matter. They sent out two batches of cold truffle fries (my brother in law also ordered some), my cold fries, a fancy bun that was right out of the fridge, and Caesar dressing spiked with Dijon mustard. Sending it back just would have made the experience worse, like being in a chilly hell where all the heat has been stolen so all food is served COLD.

The beef quality was superb--thick-cut, tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned without overpowering its natural flavor. While the edges were cooked slightly beyond medium due to the uneven cut, that's a very minor critique. The grilled asparagus was delicious, and the green chile hominy was absolutely amazing. We took the onions and cucumbers off our salad due to dietary issues and that left us with lettuce, mushrooms, and dressing. Our burger was the best part. It was cooked well, and the bun was soft. The strawberry shortcake was disappointing. The fruit was stewed and the biscuits were hard with just room temp heavy cream to offset the temperature of the fruit. For ambiance, it was nothing to write home about. Very busy and very loud, but it was a Saturday evening so that was to be expected. What I didn't expect was the lack of air conditioning in July. It was over 100 degrees that day, and it was cooler outside. Unacceptable for Texas in July when you're seating tables 3' from each other. Our server was good. She was attentive, and kept our water glasses filled. We may try again once the weather cools down.
