For something si healthy it managed to be tasty with a good range of textures. There's a decent back garden here and it's family friendly. Parking is free alongside the station if you submit your licence plate number in a console at the front door. Key point though is this isn't really a proper pub. They had only one ale on tap which I think was Black Sheep. Not recommended for serious beer drinkers.

Not a problem, except that area doesn't get table service. Having to join a queue (which started outside the building) to order when you've booked ahead is very poor. Ordered roast dinners two weeks in a row, and both weeks ended up with no stuffing. We raised it the second time and ended up being brought out two cocktail sausages (?) because they ran out. So, they just thought they'd skip sending out what we paid for and see if we noticed? Although there was no table service in our section, someone was available very quickly to tell us to get our puppy down when he dared to sit up on the bench with me. In a dog friendly pub... in the dog friendly section!? The food honestly wasn't bad, but the rest of the experience was poor. Majority of staff seemed very junior, and there weren't enough of them on shift. The car park is also a mess, with cars regularly parking in the middle, blocking you in - even in spite of the subtle threats of a fine if you don't book your plate at the bar. However, over the last six months or so there has been a massive change, with a lot of local residents choosing to avoid this establishment. The landlord is more concerned with profits, than the well being of local residents and customers, maybe he should stick to barbering than running a pub. He lets in a lot of customers who are barred from other local pubs in the village, unconcerned about the trouble they may cause. He also turns a blind eye to the obvious drug dealing/taking in these premises. The last few times I have been in this pub, there has been fights breaking out, with no door staff on to intervene. Only this Friday as one fight erupted at the rear, other fights started to break out, resulting in one person being randomly head butted and knocked out completely. The only person who seemed to do anything about it was the barman, Gregg, who stopped the fight. As a concerned resident of Gee Cross village, I will no longer be drinking in here, and will also be making complaints to licensing authorities. I would like to point out that this in no way is a review of the restaurant, which has always been superb, but this is a review of the bar.
