Laid back bar with four 7ft tables and many tables, and Happy Hour specials, a decent amount of seating for a local neighborhood bay and grill. Very nice bartenders, forgot names but made a really good orange crush and skinny margarita. They have excellent KILLER wings and knocked them outta the park. They were the best! I am serious....(these chain places like BWW for example are not done well and need to learn from Monkey Bar's chef/cook,) Valley table I think are well maintained compared to other bars and they run straight, even slow rolling it or less than pocket speed. This is one of me and my husband's favorite spots to hang with friends. We always have such a good time playing pool and the table games they have there. My husband always enjoys eating their quesadillas. I really enjoy their cauliflower pizza myself. Service has always been great every time I've been there. We have fond memories of the Monkey Bar. We visited a few years ago and had a great experience - recently, not so much. The two male bartenders were not at all friendly. We ordered pizza slices and I wish I had taken a picture of them. While they looked nice on top, the bottom was very dark, almost burnt. You could not pick up the slice as it was soggy and super thin. The crust had ZERO flavor (maybe add a bit of salt). We each had a couple of drinks that were some of the weakest pours ever. It almost seemed like the bartenders were deliberately trying to get us to leave with their crappy pours. It worked. Never again! Those we used to share our great first experience here will now hear how they should avoid this place. read more

Unrelated, but can you believe they're out of Landshark and my go-to tequila I can only find at this bar!? It's still our go-to spot but I hope with the new GM they don't fall behind on inventory. We've been to Monkey Bar many times now even though we don't live in the area. Visiting on so many occasions has allowed me to form the opinion that no two visits are the same. It's been crazy shoulder-to-shoulder crowded, totally empty, and everywhere in between. Thanks to COVID-19 they are currently social distancing with limited capacity but still open, yay! They have pool tables and other various games available (even during coronavirus times.) My favorite attribute is that they have Casamigos in addition to Patron, Jose Cuervo, and the usuals. The food we've ordered has been good, too. There seem to be A LOT of regulars who all know each other and the employees ... which is really nice yet can be a little uncomfortable if you're from out of town and don't know anyone else. read more

Came in with a big group on Wednesday night. The bar was a lot of fun! Got a slice of pizza and it was very good along with the drinks. Quick service and friendly bartenders. I am a local and come in to the Monkey Bar from time to time because they advertise with a sign outside a free drink everyday at 6 pm. I got here early and ordered food and drinks. 6 pm came around and I asked for the little monkey they give you for a free drink. I was told they would be giving them out "later" because they were a little busy at the moment...ok I get that I can't be patient. They began to slow down, and I asked the bartender again for my free drink token. They then informed me that they were too busy, even though the sign was outside advertising the free drink, they chose to not honor it. Came to see a friend's band play. Sat at a table with my wife. Had to get our own drinks, $8 for a draft and a glass of water. Server never came to our table, never offered a menu. This place really is a dump. Very poorly run, totally understaffed as well. I went to see dueling pianos, which draws a crowd. Found a nice seat and waited for service, and waited, and waited. So went to the bar, and FINALLY got the attention of the bar tender. They spend so much time fiddle-f*cking around with their iPad cash registers, a real bartender could serve 2 more drinks in that time. I had probably the worst margarita I've ever tasted. I actually watched the bartender open the mixer bottle and sniff it.. Shrugged her shoulders, replaced the cap and served it. Incredible beyond words. So, now food. It seems they have a menu, but you have to work hard to find one. Now its 5 minutes to show time, and I see some food being served. It actually looks pretty good. FINALLY got a menu from a bus boy. Then waved a waitress over, and ask for a Zorba's pizza. "Oh, there is a long wait for pizza". How long I ask? "No idea". Sooooo, went next door to Bunky's. Was seated immediately at the high top by the bar. Place was totally packed. Had my drink in 3 minutes, took my order, and food served in a short time. Now that is a well run place. 30 minutes later, went BACK to Monkey and watched the show, which was fantastic. This place needs a new manager, and it could be a star. At this point, I'd not go back. My family was down in Melbourne for thanksgiving week because we lost my dad and also lost a very good friend who happened to wrap her husband's 911 around a telephone pole 2 weeks after we lost my dad so needless to say it was a weird holiday week. One of the positive things was finding out through her husband that The Monkey Bar was one of her favorite places. As soon as I could I ventured out and checked this place out and was very happy with what I found. The walk in through the "hallway" with the benches and artwork are a nice touch. The ambiance for Christmas was really cool. The bartender I think... Tasha??.. the white girl on the small right side bar was very attentive and suggestive in the food options. I went with the mahi taco, tuna taco and bbq taco (apparently I showed up on taco night special) because my next time you could not get this trio. But my God were these some delicious tacos! The attention to presentation was just as good as the food. I took an uber home and my mom asked me to get her some mahi mahi tacos after I told her about my experience. So a few days later before we headed back to Atlanta I picked up 6 tacos and she was impressed! We have bought 3 shirts so far and can't wait to go back! read more

The first time we went the owner was tending bar and he suggested we come back because he was the only one cooking and he was not that good. THAT!!!!, is the type of honesty I respect. So, we had our drinks and decided to come back another night. Upon our return, we were treated to what I can only say was a textbook performance in food service. The service staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They kept a witty repartee going with us as well as the other patrons. After perusing the menu I elected to try the "Not Your Typical Burger." This Burger was hand patted and grilled perfectly. They toasted the bun. Again, this shows a caring desire to provide quality food. The burger is topped with romaine lettuce and a slab of goat cheese. Let me tell you this burger is great. The drinks are strong, the care is there. Big Boy says give it a try. read more

I have been here many times and I like it here. The place is fairly big and spread out. I usually come here on some wednesdays during the day as the pool tables are free and the place is not too crowded. The food here is pretty good and pizza is very good. The bartenders are very good here. You can request a tablet to play the buzztime trivia game while at the bar and that is a big plus. They have a shuffleboard table here which is pretty cool and unique for the area. The mens bathroom is pretty raw, ugly and not well drawn out. A good place to hang out, play some pool or video games, trivia or watch TV. I recommend this place. read more
