Clean and aesthetic coffee. The coffee flavor is amazing , you can tell they use high-quality ingredients! I don't usually compliment a coffee shop on its interior, but the decor and ambiance here are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. It's definitely a place I'd come back to. The scent inside is like you're in a luxury hotel lol, feels clean and nice. Ideal place for studying and having work done.
Stopped by the grand opening last week which was a success! This spot offers a variety of coffee, matcha, and unique lattes along with pastries. Service was great and drinks came out super fast! I do wish that the pastries could be warmed up as an option. I tried the Dubai Chocolate cookie which was a little bit on the dry side. It was tasty, but not soft and more firm. Loved the black sesame latte and pistachio latte. The ambiance and aesthetic was chic and would be a great spot to work remotely or stop by for a coffee date. Seats are limited. Would definitely come back to try other lattes.
Menu has been revamped! I like how the Pistachio Latte is not too sweet, but the pistachio flavor got a little lost once it met the coffee. Would love a bit more nutty punch to really make it shine. Staff are warm and smiley, happily offer recommendations, and quickly make drinks. The interior is aesthetic with lots of guests studying. Looks like a promising refresh for the cafe ~ I just need that pistachio to speak up :)
Came here randomly for a quick coffee break. They have a good amount of indoor seating but it was all packed for a Saturday late afternoon. We got the black sesame latte and the einspanner latte. The black sesame was very plain and light in flavor. It didn't have a strong black sesame flavor and tasted more milky. The einspanner was good, very strong matcha taste and very creamy. I would get the matcha again but probably not the black sesame.
First look, the entrance and walking in had nice vibes and the design is aesthetically pleasing and I feel it would be a nice place to enjoy reading a book or chilling with friends. Aesthetic Design & Vibes: 5/5 Service was good, friendly cashier and quick to double check and answer questions. Service: 5/5 I ordered the strawberry matcha, Dubai cookie and banana bread. Strawberry Matcha: 3/5, if you prefer a sweet strawberry matcha this won't be the drink for you. I think the syrup of the strawberry is tangy and if that is your style of matcha then it would work out. Dubai cookie: 5/5 I never had a Dubai Cookie, so I can't compare to other ones, but it's tastes good to me, it's not dry, has a smooth chocolate taste, and I do enjoy the crunch inside. Banana bread: 3.5/5, is on the drier side of banana bread. It doesn't taste bad, just not the best I had.
Cute cafe in the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area. Their drinks are so pretty but I think missed the mark on flavor and intensity. I think it's a good place to lock in on your studies and work though. 4 outlets and strong WiFi. Spacious and not too crowded even on a weekend. Many small tables, both inside and outside. I got the strawberry pistachio matcha and my friends got the double matcha and banana hojicha. My drink was a good blend of flavors but still milk forward. The double matcha only had a whisper of matcha but I guess you can say it was refreshing. The hojicha was smooth and the banana cream was nice. I have a feeling their coffees would be better tho. I had high hopes for the flavor since they took a good minute to make our drinks but it seems like today it's more aesthetic than memorable. Parking: for a weekend, too small of a lot for the many businesses in the plaza, busy brunch place next door. Perhaps a weekday would be better
Beautiful interior. It's what the kids these days would consider aesthetic. I got the Banana Hojicha and the Flame Coffee. I did not know that the Hojicha was green tea so I'm letting you dear customer know. The Banana Hojicha was very plain it just felt like I was drinking banana milk (2/10). The flame coffee was better (5/10) and it tasted a lot of brown sugar. I think I am much more disappointed because it was a longer drive for us. Service was quick because there was no line when we got there around 11 am. Again, maybe I didn't try the right things. Price $7.25- $8 per drink
The Moon Coffee is located in Costa Mesa, next to Fleur de Lys, and in the same plaza as Plums and my favorite Sushi Shunka. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The interior looks very bright and modern. There were a lot of students studying here. They have a kiosk for self ordering. At the time of my visit there was no line so I just ordered with the cashier. I ordered the Black Sesame Latte ($7.50) because it was on the top of the list of their Signature Drinks and also because I enjoy black sesame and was excited to see it on the menu. The drink was made quickly and was presented on the counter a bit pretentiously without the lid. The issue is that they overfilled the cup, which means any attempt I make to put on a lid will make it spill along the edge. Also for the price, the size of the drink is incredible small. I enjoyed the taste of the drink but I was left unsatisfied with such a small cup. I might swing by if I'm already at Sushi Shunka and I need some caffeine to work off the food coma, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
I've only been here twice, once around their grand opening and a second time after they revamped their menu & interior. I've tried their matcha, coffee, pastries and honestly it's just ok, nothing memorable. Their double matcha was pretty disappointing tbh...lacked matcha flavor and too much oat milk so it tasted like vanilla. Their strawberry matcha was a bit better though with fresh strawberry puree! And their sea salt mocha reminded me of starbucks chocolate frappe which my friend really liked! Clean girl aesthetic and work-friendly vibes with ample seating, several outlets, and minimal crowds on a weekday. Beware that they blast the music on speaker so you can feel the vibrations under the seats lol but it didn't really bother me.
Came here Saturday afternoon. The place is cute, cozy with plenty of seating. We got the below Latte - a perfectly made latte, please don't change a thing black sesame latte - so unexpectedly good, not too sweet, would get again. tiramisu latte - great tiramisu flavor, started off really good but did get really sweet later matcha einspanner - another surprisingly yummy well made drink strawberry matcha - least favorite but still actually a good drink. dubai chocolate cookie - not to sweet, very yummy filling. The outer cookie could use a little more of a chocolate taste. Service was friendly and I could tell each drink was carefully and thoughtfully made to perfection. I can't wait to come back for the lattes. I am still thinking about them.
Thé Moon is a unique and good looking cafe to take some time and study in. It has a more elevated atmosphere to it and a decent amount of indoor seating. The menu itself has a good amount of options in different categories, such as milk teas, matcha, and more. They currently have a build your own drink too, which lets you pick your own base and top which I find pretty nice to have as a more customizable option! I went with a BYD and chose a matcha latte as my base and black sesame cream top, and my girlfriend got the pink coconut matcha. In my opinion, the matcha latte itself was a little underwhelming, and it is limited to 12 ounces for about $8 which is a bit small. The pink coconut matcha in comparison was pretty good though! It's just, also small. Taste profile wise though I'd definitely say both are there, and the pink coconut was just a bit better.
Not sure if we ordered the wrong things or if we came on a bad day but the matcha was not good...The vibes of the cafe were super cute and had plenty of seating so it would make a good study spot!! My friend and I got the matcha einspanner and the black sesame matcha latte but both tasted like water and had no matcha flavor. Moreover, the black sesame matcha was comically small for the price of $7.50 :,) I'm not sure why they put that one in a 12oz cup instead of the 16oz like the einspanner but either way I had to toss it because it just wasn't drinkable. This was my first time at The Moon, it was absolutely delicious!!! They were able to make the two flame lattes one with almond milk and oat milk. The service was great and the place is beautiful. 10/10 read more
Came by for drinks after having brunch nearby. Ambiance is pretty cool and their fruity teas are pretty sweet and fruit-forward. Staff was friendly and we got the sense that they really wanted to make sure that the drinks were prepared to our liking. Would likely come back if we were already in the area and the aesthetic is cool. read more

Parking was a nightmare, particularly on Sunday afternoon - didn't think it'd be that bad. Interior and decor is nice, but service wasn't the best - took forever for us to get our drinks, and they kept calling out the wrong names... I wasn't impressed with the drinks either... both tasted very bland/flavorless. I got the Coconut Cloud Matcha, and I could barely taste the matcha. Personally think the Flame Latte could've been a lot sweeter as well. read more

The matcha Einspanner was on the 8/10 side of sweetness, but the staff accommodated with an unsweetened matcha latte that was 1/10 sweetness Overall the matcha isn't anything to write home for, but the space is nice to study and the wifi is pretty fast! This place checks off all the boxes when it comes to aesthetic boba tea shops with quality drinks. It's in a small shopping strip with lots of shops and food places so parking can be an issue. The inside is spacious and modern with cute decor. It would be a great place for catching up with girl friends. Their drink options are more unique, not your typical milk and fruit teas. The girl at the counter said her favorite was the Golden Moon ($6.49) so I went with that and added Honey Moon Pearls ($0.65). It has passionfruit and mango cold pressed juice with either jasmine green tea, kungfu black tea or Taiwanese oolong tea. I chose green tea and it was a very refreshing drink. I could really taste the passionfruit juice. Their Honey Moon Pearls aka boba were soft with the right amount of chew. They're slightly smaller than the normal boba size that I'm used to but still good. I only wish they put more boba in their drinks. Besides tea drinks, they also serve milk tea soft serve with a variety of toppings. I'm looking forward to trying those in the summer time. read more

This place is lovely, lots of seating areas. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. It wasn't too sweet but the girl who took my ordered offered to remake the drink or add more sweetener to the drink if needed- which was a nice touch. The Strawberry Pistachio Matcha was really good! I did minus a star because they forgot the strawberry garnish on top of my order and I didn't notice until after I finished and noticed other people had it on theirs. Otherwise, service was fast and lots of seating space in the store itself. read more
Staff was super friendly. I got a hojicha tea and it was really good! I feel like I want to explore the menu a little more. They had a bunch of drinks that looked good to try, but I was craving what I got so next time. Also, they have soft serve!!! It was really good. The ambiance is open, bright, and clean. Love the vibrate colors and elegant decorations and furniture inside this boba spot! Super friendly staff! My son is always here all the time, so I finally came to try this place in person. Plenty of tables around, the boba drinks are super tasty, not too sweet at all. My favorite drink of all time has to be the strawberry matcha. The only con about this plaza, parking is horrible, I drove around maybe 4 times just to find a spot. The crowd is real. read more

Creative name, creative drinks in a town that could use more of what it represents. The Moon or "T Moon" creates an inside world where boba does meet luxury. The Moon sits a plaza that resides other restaurants and even the fabled Crumbl store so expect parking to be limited! However, you are greeted with not only a study worthy, outlet friendly and well lit cafe spot but the service that thrives on social media and customer service and suggestons as well too! With many drinks on that suggestion list, one thing is for sure. It's definitely priced a little more average than what you would find in Irvine, Costa Mesa and of course, Garden Grove. That goes especially taste wise, but it is a different area after all. But that didn't stop me from trying the Blush Cloud and Tiramisu Mocha! The Blush Cloud is a sight for those who love their strawberry milk and creamy fix. Delivering a not super sweet and indulging fruity taste that includes real strawberries! The Tiramisu Mocha is also a fantastic taste paired with mini boba pearls, leaving a rich chocolate taste that leaves you wanting more! Let alone a combination so well put together! Considering the area, it is the most fruitful and option packed place you'll find for boba! read more
Got their "The moon jasmine" and it's actually really good !! I like that they use soy because I am lactose intolerant, but overall 10/10 from me ! I'll definitely be back to order again, they also have a lot of different matcha drinks, and use ceremonial grade matcha. But I'll definitely be back and it's in a very convenient plaza. I ordered the golden moon with boba and coconut jelly, and it was refreshing but more on the sweeter side (4/5). They have kiosks for ordering and also staff if you want to pay in cash like I did. First off this spot is not really an authentic boba spot. It is an exact example of something that looks like itll taste really good but doesnt. Super aesthetic inside with tons of decor but none of the drinks delivered. When we ordered they had someone at the front who didnt speak much english which is okay we just took extra time. We ordered the matcha green tea with mini boba and the moon mountain option they had. Both drinks made quickly and both tasted very watered down and just as if you're drinking milk. There is no prominent tea flavor at all. Pretty sweet drinks for being at 50% as well. We took a few sips and they were tossed. Kind of a waste of time energy and money coming here. When we picked up our drinks we weren't offered a cupholder or any additional friendly service that was provided to other groups despite buying like 5 drinks. The group behind us was tended to very attentively and it felt like the workers were being rude to us on purpose. They also have a specific dress code going on, everyone's wearing super short dresses and heavily tanned bronzed makeup. Would not be back here at all. read more

This spot has amazing and delicious teas. I love how well balanced the flavors are together and they never seem to overpower each other. This spot is a lovely spot to hang with friends or just to study. The workers are quick and nice about the order. If you enjoy jasmine or oolong tea, this spot hits it. While for the matcha, it was not as strong to my liking, but still very creamy and delicious! Next time, I must try their ice cream. read more

I have been seeing this place all over my media. When I saw their post stating that they would be giving free drinks for students, I picked up my things and drove immediately over! When we arrived, there was a huge line. We were in line for maybe 5-10 minutes before someone came out and told us that they ran out of everything besides hot drinks. I was so sad, but they actually sent us a deal for a free drink on our next visit. That was so unexpectedly kind of them! We ended up getting 3 drinks: Strawberry Mochi: This was very hyped up and I was excited to try this one. I personally would not go back for it, as it was a bit bland for my taste and I was not a fan of the mochi. It was not as chewy as I expected it to be. I totally get how this could be a popular drink since it is different than the usuals, but I would not elect to get this again. Strawberry Matcha: This was a solid strawberry matcha! I like how they use puree and not just strawberry flavoring. It definitely elevates the drink over a lot of other places I have gotten strawberry matchas at. Tiramisu Latte: This was very heavily coffee flavored, but you can still taste the tiramisu in it. I personally don't go for coffees but I could drink the cream on top all day. Overall, I am very impressed with this place and can't wait to go back and try more drinks. Every drink looks delicious there so I will slowly make my way through their menu. As for now, the two times I came, pretty much all the seats were taken up. There are a number of seats and outlets. Everything is beautifully decorated and most of all CLEAN! Nice, instagram-worthy tea spot with plenty of options across the spectrum of teas, and they even offer some coffee drinks and soft serve. My boyfriend ordered the Tropical Cloud which was a mango slushy drink and I ordered the wintermelon tea. I'm looking forward to coming back to try more drinks. As a perk, this spot is in a strip mall with some cute boutiques, so you can grab a drink and then do some shopping. read more

Came here on a weekday to try their drinks! It was located really close to Sidecar and so I decided to make my way over here - there's a fair amount of parking here but I didn't find any issues when I came. The employee asked if this was my first time and if i needed help, but I kinda already had my eyes set on their taro cloud drink. They mentioned that 100% isn't as sweet as other places, and so regular sugar it was! Taro cloud was fresh milk with taro slush with cloud foam. It kinda brings a nostalgic taro flavor to it that I couldn't place, but I did enjoy the taro flavor of it. I think full sweet was just a tad too sweet but it definitely isn't as sweet as other places. Waiting didn't take too long as I saw them preparing my drink. There are a few tables here and it kinda looks a bit nicer inside. read more

Decent matcha, they put 4 grams but its not strong enough for me so did need an extra 2 grams to pay for. Wish places just put enough matcha so i didnt have to pay for it but once i got it i really enjoyed the matcha taste notes. More creamier of a matcha with the matcha cream foam I got so had more of a latte style forward taste than your ordinary strong matcha latte but it was a good balance. What i didnt appreciate is their canelle dessert is one for $5.50 which is outrageous for how tiny it is but its not just the price that upset me its the customer service as i asked the manager few times if there was a 2 for something deal he can do for me as a first time customer and he was focused on taking another customers order and just refused until the very end he gave few cents off so i was quite offended bc I would think for any small business customer retention and satisfaction should be everything ESPwhen a customer is asking you for a special first time discount several times to your face and you just ignore and focus on other customers... like you should go out of your way so that customer wants to return. read more

We went back to this boba tea place hoping that the first time we went, the bad boba drinks were just a fluke, but low and behold, it was even worse than the first time we tried it. Granted, the boba tea shop is lovely and the decor is top notch and elegant, but that's the only good thing about this boba shop. The Moon Kungfu and the Jasmine matcha tea drinks basically taste like a cup of milk or creamer with a small splash of tea. There's no rich tea flavor and honestly, it's just too milky tasting. I wouldn't want to drink this tea even if it was for free. Also, this time we tasted a sample of the boba before deciding not to put adding boba to the drinks because again, it was really bad. They were tiny little mushy balls that congealed together. Honestly, I was really hoping that the boba drinks would be good this time around because the cafe is so lovely inside and there also needs to be a solid boba spot on 17th street, but alas, this place isn't it. read more

A new boba & tea shop has recently opened in Costa Mesa! The Moon serves high-quality tea & coffee drinks and this is their first location in the US after branching out from Canada. Service is friendly and you are warmly greeted when you walk in. They have a variety of drinks to choose from and they all use quality ingredients and teas. I've been here several times and I've ordered the their matcha drinks along with their Hawaiian light. They have all been refreshing with a good amount of tea flavor and you can taste the freshness in each drink. The interior is clean and bright when you walk in with plenty of tables available to work or study and the staff can answer any questions you might have on their drinks and can offer recommendations if you need it. Parking is available in the lot in the plaza! If you are in the area and want a coffee or tea drink, come check out The Moon! Highly recommended! read more
The newest specialty tea shop!! Apparently this brand came from Canada which is their first store! I'm so happy this place opened in oc :) The tea here is pretty goood with all the toppings they recommend. I tried the strawberry latte which was my top pick! The fruit teas and milk teas are also so good here :) they get their ingredients fresh and it isn't too sweet either. Definitely good quality drinks here! Service is also 10/10. ORDER earl grey milk tea (4/5) i was told the drinks here aren't as sweet as other places so i opted for full sweetness. the milk tea was perfectly sweet, but too milky for my liking. i asked to get more tea added, but even then it was still a tad too milky. the earl grey milk tea paired well with the honey boba, which was flavorful and perfectly chewy. i also tried the oolong milk tea, which was also a little too milky for my liking. I finally got the chance to try Thé Moon Tea House. I was really interested in trying it because of how cute and elegant the shop is overall. The unique drink names and soft serve options further intrigued me. I ordered the White Matcha Einspanner Drink and the Soft Moon Lotus Cookie Soft Serve. The White Matcha Einspanner was just okay. It wasn't as amazing as I expected compared to other matcha drinks I've tried. It leaned more toward the bitter side, whereas I was hoping for a hint of sweetness. The Soft Moon Lotus Cookie was also just okay for me. I was really excited to try it since it was made with milk tea flavored soft serve. Unfortunately, the milk tea flavor was overwhelming, and I honestly would have preferred a basic vanilla soft serve instead. The texture wasn't creamy and felt watery. I did appreciate the cookie crumbs and the whole Biscoff cookie as toppings otherwise, it would have been difficult to enjoy the soft serve on its own. Overall, there is plenty of seating, and the shop itself is really pretty. However, the staff could be more friendly and welcoming, especially on their social media platforms. They still haven't responded to my catering inquiry from several months ago through email, phone, or Instagram. If I'm in the area, I'd be open to trying another drink to give it another shot, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more
For the ambiance alone, this place gets five stars honestly. When you walk in, the place is beautifully furnished, there are plenty of seats and tables, each table has an outlet near it, and there's pretty lighting too. The decor is gorgeous, and it's great for sitting and catching up with friends or getting work done. The wifi was also fast and reliable. The drinks I tried: The Pink Drink (chamomile tea with rose and lychee). I asked if the tea could be switched for green tea, but they said this drink can't be customized. I wasn't able to adjust the sweetness for this either. With that being said, the chamomile taste is nearly nonexistent (for me, this is a win). It's not too sweet but is incredibly refreshing and aesthetically pleasing! There was an actual lychee in here too, which was a nice bonus. The lychee and rose flavors were prominent, with no flavor overpowering the other. This was probably my favorite drink, and I love that I've found a place that does a caffeine-free drink I really like. Next time, I'd probably add lychee jelly to this. The Moon Kungfu (I got 75% sweetness with mini boba). The mini boba pearls were cute and chewy. You could drink them with a regular straw, which was interesting as I've never had boba with a regular straw before. The tea itself was nice, this was on par with the average milk tea that you get at good boba places. I really enjoyed this and would recommend, especially if you're unsure what to get. Portions were great, the drinks are quite big and prices are around the same as other boba places (maybe even a little less if you take size of cups into account). The workers were super nice as well! They welcomed us, answered our questions, and even remade a drink for my friend because she wasn't a fan. Truly, phenomenal. Side note, I like that you can order at the cashier or at the little kiosk on the side. Drinks were ready very quickly. read more

Came here during their soft opening to try out this new spot! This place has a parking lot so parking is nice and convenient. The cafe is also quite spacious and clean and very aesthetic inside. Staff was friendly but operating a bit slowly as they're trying to figure things out. They had a top 10 menu that primarily highlighted their tea rather than their coffee so I ended up choosing the jasmine matcha green milk tea which was #2 on the list. It was surprisingly creamy and the matcha wasn't too powdery or artificial tasting. I thought it was good but nothing super special and out of the ordinary. Happy Soft Opening to this NEW gem! I read their Grand Opening is on 12/4 with so many prizes & giveaways! They're also continuing the celebration from 12/5-12/7 with BOGO free drinks! Parking: Free parking lot. They're located in a medium sized plaza, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: The interior is sooo cute! Very modern and clean! There's a decent amount of seating. Perfect spot for a study session, boba/coffee date, or casual hangout. There are restrooms for customer use. Service: Malaya was the cashier that assisted us. She was quick & efficient and even recommended me the Flame Latte based on my preferences. Drinks: 1) Flame Latte - My favorite! It wasn't too sweet, perfect amount of sugar, and the foam was really light. 2) Hawaiian Light - This was absolutely refreshing! I don't recall choosing between Jasmine green, black tea, or oolong, so I'm assuming it's green? Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it! 3) The Moon Shizuoka Matcha - The matcha was okay .. the only thing I really tasted was the milk. The matcha flavor was definitely "subtle" and "hinted with sweetness" as described. Pricing: Prices are fair and average $$. We would definitely come back to try their other drinks! read more
