Sadly I didn't get there in time to have lunch and was too early for dinner, so I had to settle for a cake and coffee. The coffee was ok, nothing to write home about but it was well made and not burnt or anything, which is already quite a pleasant surprise compared to what I was expecting. The chocolate cake was absolutely delicious! One of the tastiest slices of chocolate cake I've had for a long time! It has a lovely beach view, an interesting building and nice friendly staff who offer service with a genuine smile :) I'd give this place 5 stars just for the slice of cake but I really wanted lunch! Some of the stuff on the menu looked delicious, so I'm saving the 5th star for when I get the chance to go back :)

For the view alone this place deserves 5*! It's beautiful!…read moreEspecially on a sunny day. The building is a bit bizarre inside and out but hey Iv been a few times - only for breakfast on a saturday They don't take bookings but if you arrive at 10am there's space. It fills up very fast though The waiters are all very friendly Dad gets full English every time and says is very good and all local meats are good quality! Mum struggles as is gluten and dairy free. No soya milk and no gluten free bread but waiters and chef are very accommodating and will supplement bits and bobs and she still enjoys it every time Every time I have been iv had the buttermilk pancakes which are just awesome! Unfortunately they just come with jam and syrup which I think is a bit odd. First time I asked for it with fresh berries which as they had some were able to do however next visits they didnt. I ordered bacon (which was so good) and had that which was yuuum but also tried it with the local jam and it was actually really good! Will always be up for a morning trip to the beach and breakfast especially if the parents are paying! Only criticism is menu could be more varied but it is in a small town in West Sussex. Well priced compared with London prices!

What an awesome tea room! Literally on the Thames!…read more 7 of us booked a table for brunch and were not disappointed! This is quite a big barge and seats about 20 people comfortably, offering a great range of cream teas, sandwiches, breakfasts and drinks. A little quaint, traditional barge tea shop. The cups and saucers are just fabulous and the coffee mugs are varied - all adding to the variety and experience of this wonderful place. The tea is served in leaf form so you have your own strainer, which is really cool! I opted for a full breakfast today which was just right! Unfortunately they had ran out of bacon but I got an extra sausage for that! Locally sourced food which was cooked perfectly from the kitchen you can see at the end of the barge. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, offering their advice and explaining the food options as well. The service was excellent and relaxed. The most important part of finishing the meal is the separation of the bill, especially in a group. However they offered to spilt this and each of us pay separately, this worked great! Overall, this is place is highly recommended for anytime of the day, relaxing on the Thames, in wonderful surroundings, watching the swans swim by.

This is like a step back in time but with all the comforts of modern day luxury. We stayed one night in a deluxe suite which was HUGE, and had the best ensuite bathroom I have ever seen. Not even the Cafe Royal in London comes close. That night we had drinks in the garden courtyard, followed by the most exquisite meal we have ever had. We LOVE our food - but this was a gastronomical experience we will never forget. It is a degustation - you will feel like you have to be rolled out of there. The portions are small but there are more than 10 courses, each one getting progressively better and more beautiful. It's expensive - save it for a special occasion. The chef is a master. Also if you get a chance, the little tea room in the village is PERFECTION. We had afternoon tea there with scones, home made strawberry jam and clotted cream. Go for a walk to wear the food coma off. The grounds are like something out of a picture book. There's a terrace on the outside of the wall for sunset viewing. If I could afford it, I would get married here. At least dreams are free.

Our room was very nice with an extra large bath tub, which was ve nice after traveling overnight from the U.S. the grounds had a lot of neat things to look at, and of course there was Bob the peacock and his friends. We also had dinner which was so delicious. The staff was so nice and attentive from the moment we got there until we left the following morning. I wish we could have stayed two nights, as we missed the golf course and I believe it was a croquet field but I'm not positive. I would definitely recommend this place and I would stay here again if I was ever in the area! Thanks again for such a memorable stay, and my apologies for taking so long to review your beautiful place!
