Except for some minor stripping. But that's okay because tassels count for something, right? Anyway, yes the show was actually pretty good. It features some acrobatics, dancing, fire hula hoops, you name it. I was impressed given that the actual stage was quite small. The actors used the mezzanine quite extensively. I think of it as a very light cirque du soleil that is slightly bawdy. But I repeat, it is not a gentleman's club. In fact, the audience was either couples or groups of women. The seating is kind of weird upstairs. The room is circular so you may happen to view the show from behind the actors, which is what we did. It was still good but there were certain scenes that took place behind pillars, and it was a bit harder to view those scenes. I bought tickets for only 15 pounds (that's around $22 USD as of this writing) so it was not a bad deal.

The exterior to the place looks fairly shabby but upon entering and climbing the stairs you'll find a nice space consisting of two differently themed rooms each housing it's own bar and beds. As the evening progresses the place fills up with a mixture of trendy shoreditch kids and London professionals but the place still retains a very relaxed atmophere. My main problem with this place is the music, it's bloody awful, consisting of fairly dire funky house and commercial dance. Entrance also feels a little steep at £10, considering this place is definitly more of a bar than a club. I can't escape the feeling that Bedroom Bar will probably be a flash in the pan. Their are a thousand better places nearby to choose from and the only thing packing in the punters right now is the novelty of getting wasted on a bed. Decent but not worth getting out of bed for. When we went, the menu was themed by the Heroes & Villains personas of iconic English figures like Paul McCartney, Richard Branson, etc. Featuring art on each page of the menu, of course. Every cocktail was great and very unique. One I got came with a cracker filled with goat cheese as a garnish. They are way more intricate than what you'd expect from the menu. Drinks were average for London. At some point in the night the door staff started work and made me uncomfortable by staring at me every time i moved around the venue. At times they followed me (I'm in my 50s so not a threat). By 8pm there were 4 members of staff and although I was 1 of 2 people waiting for a drink, only 1 of them was serving. 3 of them were having a lovely chat in the front bar. I made a comment to my mate and the barmaid went and told them. I then had a different barman from earlier walkover and rudely dropped the card reader in front of me on the bar to pay before serving me my drink. Didn't say please or thank you. Rude as hell. At the end of the evening I witnessed a guy with a disability having a disagreement with the door staff who showed no empathy to his well-being. The promoter in the rear was really friendly all night and the bands were all chatty. What started off as an exciting evening soon made me keen to leave. It wasn't busy with locals so maybe this is a reflection as to why. When I left after the venue, an older door supervisor was on the front entrance and was really friendly, exactly how I believe all staff should be. I'm mixed as to going back as it might have been a coincidence that the evening bar staff and inside door staff all being rude, but I won't make a point of returning over going somewhere different.

Sure it's no pretty picture but it has character, the pub has a large open standing area with bar in the middle. What's great is that they have a lovely, large rooftop area with plenty of seating available on large benches. There's also a BBQ serving up traditional jerk chicken and other street food type foods. We were offered a £1 off voucher for our jerk but sadly on this occasion we weren't eating here. I'd definitely come back to try it though! Deciding that a recent wedding anniversary was excuse, we met at the bar one evening in August at the legendary Claridge's Hotel. Yes, the drinks were outrageously expensive -28 pounds and up for martinis and most other drinks, but they were perfectly prepared. The bar snacks, cheeses and oysters and fancy pizzas and so forth, also were not exactly a bargain. (Our bill for four with snacks and drinks was around US$600.) We were all seated in a kind of corner table near the main bar. Claridge's of course is not at all fancy. Everything is understated, with lots of marble, with heavy emphasis on photographs and momentos of British Royalty. We spent more than we should, by far, but we greatly enjoyed our evening.
