My friend took me here yesterday for the first time. I have been hanging out in the area for the past two years and I did not know this place even existed (sad story, I know!).
We got there around 2pm so we had the pleasure of sitting in the room pretty much by ourselves. We were given two options eat inside or in the terrace. We decided to sit inside because of the bees but the outside dining area was just beautiful, surrounded by green and flowers.
The inside part is mostly wood with big roof tiles on sight, tables are nicely organized and prepared. Everything is extremely clean.
They brought the menus and after about 15 minutes (drinks were already served) they took our order.
I got the Free Range Chicken (came with veggies) and my friend got the Smocked Haddock as the main dish and Pork something as an appetizer (I believe it was some sort of fried pork fat), this was not listed on the menu.
The waiter tells us that it will take about 20 minutes for them to bring out the food bc everything is made on the spot.
20 minutes later we got our food and OH MY GOD it was phenomenal.
I can only speak for my own plate bc I did not get to taste the haddock.
The chicken was extremely juicy and it came with the most delicious veggies ever. Grilled courgettes, broccoli and zucchini.
Absolutely amazing.
Not satisfied I decided to order dessert and once again it turned out to be delicious.
Double chocolate brownie.
It was brought to the table in the fanciest way I have ever seen a brownie! and it was mouth watering. I took my sweet time eating it because it really was worth savoring!
Best food experience in England in a while.
I would suggest anyone to go!
I know they get fairly booked so I would recommend to reserve a table when you go!
Thank you so much to the staff and the owner I believe, amazing late lunch experience! read more
