The only small adjustment I'd make next time is asking for a little less red onion, as it was a bit overpowering for my taste. That said, the overall flavor combination was still excellent. I also loved that the sandwich came with chips and salsa instead of fries. It felt lighter and honestly more satisfying than the usual sides you get at other places. The chocolate shake was tasty, and the service really stood out. Everyone was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful. So delicious!! I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich vegan style with vegan cheese and vegannaise, cooked in liquid aminos. Ben, Carlos, and America were very helpful in assisting me to select an entree. This location has a very open and inviting decor. Lots of greenery and six beautiful ceiling fans. If you don't mind ordering at a counter, this is a great spot for a quick meal made with quality ingredients and creativity. Massive menu featuring vegetarian, chicken, beef and seafood. Love that many salads can be ordered as 1/2 or full size. The service is good. Although you order at the counter, the food is brought to your table. The NC Power Bowl ($17) has a generous amount of grilled chicken on top of brown rice and spinach. Cheese, guacamole, and tomatoes add lots of flavor. The tuna sandwich is very good. On 9-grain bread with blue corn chips and zesty salsa. The Kids Half Tuna is perfect for light eaters ($7.50). Dessert is good too so save room for a slice of Boston Cream Cake (the best), carrot cake, cheesecake or flourless chocolate cake ($5.95). They also have cookies, lemon bars and ice cream. I came here with my sister as we wanted something to eat after the movies. I always go to there other location in TO but have never been to the one here. When you walk in, you place your order and they bring it to your table. They had a dessert selection to choose from as well but they don't have anything gf so I passed on all the cakes. They have a lot of options on there menu so I ended up with the veggie verde tacos I believe is what they are called, I would ask them to ease on the mini salad they add to your tacos. They came out hot and ready and packed full of veggies, I actually ate the second taco with a fork since my tortilla fell apart. With how much veggies you get in these tacos it could be three instead of two. And the chips would have been good, but more than half of them were all soggy. My sister got a salad and she loved it, I think it was called the power salad. I'll have to try more options on the veggie menu, they all looked really good and I like how the food is all fresh and made to order. Also this location you leave your plates on the table when you're done. They don't have the station where you would put it away yourself. read more

Up until the last few months, I would've rated this place a 4, maybe even a 5, but sadly this is yet another place that I liked which has been taken over by new management and completely ruined. Their food used to be really good, but now it's just mediocre at best and MASSIVELY overpriced. The portions are also tiny, as well. Why would someone venture all the way out to Moorpark from Los Angeles, you might wonder? I will tell you: Apricot Lane Farms (more on this in another review) and The Natural Cafe! We were visiting the world famous Apricot Lane Farms and looking online for a place nearby to have a late lunch. I saw The Natural Cafe listed -- the name alone appealed to this vegetarian/vegan of 40+ years -- and glanced through the menu. OK, great, looks good, pleasant place, in that area. Done. Well, we were shocked, and surprised in the best kind of way. Now, let me say that I know a couple of years ago (probably due to Covid) a small number of people had less than stellar experiences. (Did you notice the management immediately responded politely, even to rude and insulting reviews?). But, The Natural has come through the crisis and restored its over-welmingly superior ratings. Our experience was exceptional and we will go out to Moorpark now, regularly, just to eat here. We went as a group and so there are too many dishes to list. Take a look at the online menu, which is extensive. Just like the best coffee shops and diners back East (largely in NYC), the menu seems impossible but this Cafe nailed every single dish we ordered. They were superb. Take a look at my pictures. The sandwiches were on thick, fresh, delicious whole grain bread. All the vegetables and fruits were fresh and vibrant (Moorpark is a fruit basket itself and worth a trip as a lovely, verdant, fertile area, a micro-niche in the middle of arid SoCal) and their flavors matched how they appeared. The pasta was delicious, the hummus authentic and freshly made; there is a condiments "bar" that I have only seen in South America or Europe; the staff are always smiling and literally the dishes arrived at our spotless table within minutes of ordering. Everyone was thanking us constantly. The environment is all '90s and appropriately so as the chain (there are six to enjoy) was established in 1993. I loved the wood, worn with love but clean and well maintained, adding a rustic quality to what could be a sterile space. There is original artwork on the walls from Sean Kirkpatrick Fine Art, giving an additional personal and cozy theme to The Natural Cafe. Fans overhead swirled festively and kept us cool and refreshed the entire time. There is shaded parking outside and tables with umbrellas had we wanted to eat our lunch al fresco on a perfect 80 degree Moorpark day. I could rave on, but, given that I consider myself picky and demanding, the fact that I instantly appreciated the quality of this place is all I need to know I will continue to love it every time we go ... and that will be often, from now on. The employees are friendly. Water, utensils, and condiments are self serve and easy to find. I like the layout and idk why but the ceiling fans are what I remember most when I'm out. They're nice to look at. It would be wonderful if we could have more gluten friendly options but there are a few things I can eat like the salads, tacos, rice dishes, and smoothies. I love the Natural Café and everything that it offers with its delicious "health wise" food. I live in Simi and we were so disappointed when the Natural Café closed here. The Moorpark Café staff are very friendly and the food did not disappoint. I had the vegetable bowl and it was absolutely delicious! My friend had the Tempeh burger and she loved it. Got a chance to place an order with Kendall today I couldn't believe how easy it was we had an eggplant sandwich I had a gobbler burger(turkey) and there were two other meals that I couldn't even dream of knowing well to pronounce but they were all delicious my gobbler burger came exactly as I wanted when I went to pick it up he was ready so it wasn't cold perfect. The flavor of the goblin burger was like one of those things were one by just kept welcoming the next they were incredibly friendly we enjoyed washing it down with some good old fashion kombucha... Although I have no idea what all the fashion kombucha is because I only became aware of it two years ago so we're just going to go with that. But I will say this they were very friendly the service was very good and I'll go back there again. I've always loved coming here for the food and all the vegetarian options but this last visit was just not it. I ordered the nachos grande and veggie tacos. I've ordered both of these items in the past and they've been great but this time was disappointing. The nachos grande was mostly chips, barely any cheese, rice or beans. The rice was burnt and overcooked. Some of the chips were burnt. There was a crapload of onions and olives. There have never been olives in the nachos before. The veggie tacos were skimpy on the veggies, overly peppered, and barely had any cheese on them. Another note: It took me 5 times of calling before someone actually answered the phone. I usually love this cafe. We love the chili and corn bread amongst many other dishes. We ordered the chili today and upon serving we noticed the corn bread was smothered in a cheese, huh? First of all I've had this multiple times and it has never been topped off with cheese. The menu reads cornbread and a honey butter. We spoke to the manager and he said it's been that way over a year, wrong. My bf dislikes cheese tremendously and also was in disbelief. The staff handled it wrong. The manager handled it wrong and apparently the owners handled it wrong.
