If you're looking for a fun night out in the desert, The Nest never disappoints. We had family in town and it was our first choice. We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. What a fun place to go to after a concert! We were in town and The Nest is a MUST place to visit when in town. We waited close to 25 minutes (the only drag) but once we were in the party started. The drinks were nice great and the DJ awesome! He was playing a saxophone as he pumped the crowed up. There was a big crowd full of happy people dancing and enjoying the vibe. I've written a number of reviews here on Yelp over the years as for the one star, those things happen. I have never written one in anger until now. I wanted to let some time pass, get through the holiday season and in an effort think some on how I might have made awful better. Having just moved I did not want to cook this Thanksgiving. I made reservations at "The Nest" a few weeks ahead of Thanksgiving I had read a number of reviews here on Yelp. I knew going in they had a lively bar scene with live music. We walk in exactly on time. It's so loud it's hard to speak with the hostess. (I'm a Boomer, a child of the 60's no stranger to, nor bothered by loud music) The dining area is separate from the bar so it should be no problem to be seated in a spot that allowed for dinner conversation. I asked the hostess if they did have a spot that was on the quieter side, she said no problem if we could wait a bit. Here is where things went off the rails. We were led to a table that was in a corner and directly under a speaker with the live music as loud as the bar area. Just to make it 'fun' about a 1/4 of the table against the wall had a slope of about 10 or so degrees. There was an older, thick flat screen on the wall so the person across from me kept hitting her head on it. But let's go to the important part the food. Each of us ordered the Thanksgiving Special, turkey dinner. Which was not only the worst turkey dinner I'ver even had but was the absolute worst meal I've ever been served ever, anywhere... including but not limited to fast food. I am left to assume my asking if we could be seated in a quieter spot pissed off the entire restaurant staff from hostess to kitchen staff Starting with the turkey itself, it was a small pile of shredded dark meat, two of us had shards of bone. Mashed potatoes? It was a small ice cream scoop amount (think school cafeteria service) of hard, cold instant like mix. A table spoon worth of some sort of liquid passing for 'gravy'. The rest was of equal 'quality' Two of us left the majority of the food on the plate. Oh and the pie.... Yeah about the same as the rest. I'm not even going to bother about the level of 'service,' I'll just say it was slightly better than food, cold and only indifferent. And now the part that just left us in awe of the whole thing. The section we were seated in was nearly empty by the time we were done, trying get find a member of the staff to bring us the damn check so we could just get out of there. And here comes a couple in their 20's having a domestic dispute, fortunately that calmed down and they left the area. And then here walks through the dining area a clown.... Yes you read that right a clown, in full clown makeup and outfit. An actual clown. No rhyme nor reason, just sauntering through. And as if this was normal and not at all bizarre. There is some sort of 'selfie' device in a corner. And along come two 'ladies' clearly intoxicated, to pose in front of it acting the fools only alcohol can induce and this obnoxious 'show' went on far too long. Just to add insult to injury the check finally comes with a mandatory 20% "large party" (of four?) gratuity. To be fair since it was a holiday would have left at least that amount normally. I appreciate those who work holidays, giving up family time to serve others. I've worked my share of holidays. I was ashamed and embarrassed, about the whole mess. read more

Happy Hour Only The Nest is always a good place to kick back for some happy hour at 3:00. And during the summertime they extend their happy hour till 7pm. Select drinks are ten dollars a piece, including wells drinks and lemon drops. Plus there a selection of happy hour food items, including eggplant parmigiana, Caesar salad and wedge. I was informed that the hamburger is no longer on the happy hour menu. Customers were disappointed to hear this. At 3:00pm on a summer weekday, we owned the bar but after 4, the bar started to get packed. I imagine by 5pm this bar would be swinging. Great bartender that everyone seem to know! Great personality! I have been patronizing The Nest for over 3 decades. I hadn't been in for a while. I used to love it but last night there was an obvious decline in its mojo. I actually remember when Doti was kind. The menu is now quite overpriced. The portions are small. The NOISE level is beyond belief. The last three times I've been there I was literally pushed out of the way by Owner Doti. She never SMILES and never says " Excuse me ". Zero respect for owners who forget that they are in the HOSPITALITY Business. Thankless. Ungracious. Unkind. Game OVER for me and many of my colleagues. Ambiance is key! Great DJ so many good songs! We were new here wanted to celebrate my birthday, this was the BEST choice! Lively, great vibes! It's a bit loud, but it's worth it! I visited this restaurant while I was visiting Palm Springs. I wanted to experience the nightclub so we opted to dine here. The ambiance is upscale and the menu was a little pricey. It was quite loud as well. I didn't feel the cost of the food compared to the taste of the food or quality that I received. I paid approximately $30 for a Chicken Caesar salad. I really wasn't impressed. The drink that I had wasn't bad at all. The service was just okay. We kind of had to flag the waitress down to request our check. The nightclub was super fun. There was a variety of ages there. I'm speaking from 21 to 80 or so and everyone was having a great time. The music took you through different eras. They even had a live singer. Such a great time to experience with your friends/family. If it wasn't for the experience at the restaurant, my review would have received more stars. read more

We came for dinner and started with mocktails. We had our drive home ahead of us and found an early bird three course special. I'm a fan of eggplant parm and The Nest did not disappoint. They delivered. From the drinks, service, and meal I was pleasantly surprised and will be back. Our server recommended a blue cheese wedge salad chopped and suggested the mousse over the carrot cake. Great service overall and nice ambiance. We had a lot of fun but only downside was this obnoxious little boy who kept trying to get our attention by annoying us. Is he in kindergarten or something? We tried to keep our distance but we noticed him trying to photobomb our selfies and dancing behind us, practically mocking us. He even tried to get his friends to go along with his immature behavior but luckily nobody thought he was being funny or cute and didn't join in the bullying. He finally left us alone once we stood near the security guard. Ladies, enjoy but always beware....there still are creeps with double chins and beer bellies out there, ready to harass you for the sake of their ego. Stay safe! read more

We really wanted to like this place, since recommended by the bartender at Vickeys. Given the prices they certainly set the bar high. Unfortunately, the food didn't seem to get the memo. The pork chop was impressively dry, almost like it had been on a personal mission to remove all moisture. What stood out even more than being overcooked was the complete lack of seasoning, honestly more impressive than the dryness itself. The ribeye followed suit tough, overcooked, and somehow just as under-seasoned. We ordered a burger that was so dry I sent it back, which I rarely do. The replacement somehow managed to be even drier, which honestly felt like an achievement at that point. To top it off, the automatic 20% gratuity really took the pressure off the service. There wasn't much urgency or concern, which makes sense when the tip is already guaranteed. All in all, it's a place where the prices are memorable...unfortunately more than the food. read more

Other reviews made me wonder just what we would find. Happy to say we were pleased. Acceptable service on a busy night. The food was first rate. I had the chopped wedge salad, it was delicious. I know others questioned that it wasn't a "wedge of lettuce" but it does say chopped wedge. I also had the goulash. Tender melt in your mouth, the veggies were done perfectly, a little char, crisp and a good mix. I could have used a little more mashed potatoes, only because I eat my warm fresh dinner roll too quickly and wanted to get every drop of the sauce on the goulash. We will go again read more

Totally agree with the Yelp description of "lively local spot." I definitely recommend making a reservation because it appears to be a very popular spot for dinner, grabbing drinks and late night fun (there was a line to get in when we left dinner around 10pm). From the outside it looks rather unassuming but once you enter it is a contemporary atmosphere with mood lighting, lots of liveliness and entertainment singing popular songs. I was also surprised at how many areas it had - the main bar/dance-floor right as you enter, main dining room and another room in the far back. We came for dinner so we were seated in the main dining area in a booth along the wall which provided a prime people-watching view. A quick observation was the variety of diners, from children to golfers to people celebrating birthdays. Many people joined in on "dinner karaoke" singing along with the local entertainment as well as singing happy birthday. A clown also was wandering the restaurant, no idea why but that was entertaining. On to the food and service. I must say they are a well oiled machine, the staff works very well together in providing great service. Our drinks came out so quickly and our water cups were never empty. They had some pretty good specials this night and I ordered one of them - scallop pasta in a lemon sauce. We also ordered the classic petite filet which came with a hearty serving of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Also an added bonus is the salad or soup option that comes with entrees. I will say the food was rather tasty and can see why many people dine here. Additionally, was pleasantly surprised that their house wine was Daou (love it!). Lastly, You could literally stay here all night. After dinner you could move to the bar area, meet people, enjoy the entertainment and dance. The Happy Hour Wedge salad clearly came from a bag of lettuce not a wedge. It was tasteless watered down and limp. The calamari was half calamari with the other half deep fried artichokes and olives to save on cost. A good HH is about value not a cheap plate of food. The wait staff were decent. I'm honestly at a loss by how so many people left five star reviews from this restaurant. It was far away one of the worst meals I've ever eaten with service to match. We went for a birthday celebration and it started off fine. Our table is ready and the drink order was prompt. We ordered a couple appetizers and those came. And that was pretty much the last we saw of our server until I went to the owner asking if someone could wait on us after dinner which was served by a busboy who simply yelled out the item until one of us claimed it . I ordered the fish which came horribly undercooked. Everything else was cold, including the scoop of mashed potato and vegetables. The rest of the dinners were equally unimpressive around the table. There was a 20% mandatory tip included in our bill for a large party which helped the problem with what to leave. All in all not the fun experience we were hoping for - we left after dinner. I just wanted to make a review about their customer service. I've never been to this restaurant, but I was supposed to be there for a big girls trip dinner and I couldn't make it and I called to send bottles of champagne to the group of 10 people at the reservation and for some reason it kept going to voicemail every time I called and I panicked and I tried like five times and then finally someone picked up and it was Juli and she totally took care of me and she was so kind and so nice. Someone needs to give her a big hug very rarely do we express gratitude I know at restaurants everybody works really hard and it's just so nice when they follow through on helping people out it's just really great. My hubby and I came here last week on a Thursday night. I was nervous at first when I read the recent reviews, but the food looked delicious in the pictures. I made a reservation, and when we arrived, we were seated right away. Our waitress was very pleasant, and offered suggestions. It was quite loud in there like the reviews said, but that wasn't a big deal for us. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, and my hubby ordered the chicken Parmesan. We scraped our plates clean! The food was delicious! We were going to stay and listen to the music in the bar area, but it was packed like sardines in there lol. We'll definitely be visiting The Nest again. I've had some lovely memories and truly fun times at the Nest...and I say with such sadness, I will never recommend this establishment again, and have no desire to go back. We had a birthday party group of 7 women - and the two men at the entrance were truly awful. The lead gentleman at the door on 5/10/25 was highly aggressive toward members of the group. The blessing? We were told to go to The Barn. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - The Nest is no longer the "fun" place it was. The people we met at the Nest all left for it too - so my advice: Skip the Nest - the cool kids of ALL ages were at the Barn. I was highly embarrassed to have suggested we go to The Nest to celebrate my friend's birthday. One of my worst experiences in the Coachella Valley. I was in town for a conference and found The Nest by recommendation and I'm sure glad that I did. When you first walk in, you walk into what looks like a dive bar. Funky music and a mixed crowd dancing around the dance floor. But once you enter the dining room, it's a welcoming restaurant. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. We started off with garlic bread which was yummy. I ordered the Cajun double pork chop and it was so delicious. Perfectly cooked. I was afraid that the "Cajun" meant spicy but it wasn't at all. It was just perfectly seasoned. My friends ordered a steak and chicken marsala. Everyone said that their meal was delicious. Casual restaurant but still somewhat pricey. I would definitely return. I had a great time and experience at The Nest off of Highway 111 in Indian Wells. There is great service throughout the entire place. You always see staff picking up, wiping down surface and security constantly making sure that everything is running smooth. The bartenders are also very friendly and quick considering how packed this place can get. Parking is also easy so is getting a Lyft or Uber as this location is very easy to find. We settled on a back table both on the cushioned seat able to see the entire venue and enjoy the people watching. Our meal was delicious as Jacob guided us through the menu. Appetizer calamari California style ! Light and flaky with two tasty dipping sauces. I had Tyler the chef 's choice - sole and penne pasta my date had Didi's pasta - Both of us were delectably, satisfied! The wine of choice was great as it was discounted on Tuesdays!! I still give this place great marks specifically because I like the owner so much. HOWEVER, my girlfriend and I were in there the other night, and we were basically assaulted by a couple. I don't know their names, but the one guy looks like a Ken Doll with a black hairy mustache. He wouldn't stop talking to my girlfriend and was basically touching her and had his hands all over her. His wife just laughed like oh he's just fun. That customer is a full on predator and shouldn't be allowed in there anymore. read more
