What an amazing experience! Classy , delicious and after dinner you can pop over to the bar where the owner and his band are playing. He is SO good ! His beautiful wife is busy making sure all is running smoothly. She greeted guests - even cleaned tables. I had so much fun watching all of the passion that they have for their business . And their staff loved them, which means they are good bosses. I got the chicken picatta - AMAZING- hubby got the chicken Marsala - also delish

Happy Hour Only The Nest is always a good place to kick back for some happy hour at 3:00. And during the summertime they extend their happy hour till 7pm. Select drinks are ten dollars a piece, including wells drinks and lemon drops. Plus there a selection of happy hour food items, including eggplant parmigiana, Caesar salad and wedge. I was informed that the hamburger is no longer on the happy hour menu. Customers were disappointed to hear this. At 3:00pm on a summer weekday, we owned the bar but after 4, the bar started to get packed. I imagine by 5pm this bar would be swinging. Great bartender that everyone seem to know! Great personality! Local clientele seem to populate the bar during the summertime. Mostly regulars. Plenty of parking. Plus valet at night too.

The Nest was delicious, service was excellent, and the ambiance was wonderful. Live music in the bar and fine dining inside. I'm so thankful my friend suggested it. We came for dinner and started with mocktails. We had our drive home ahead of us and found an early bird three course special. I'm a fan of eggplant parm and The Nest did not disappoint. They delivered. From the drinks, service, and meal I was pleasantly surprised and will be back. Our server recommended a blue cheese wedge salad chopped and suggested the mousse over the carrot cake. We ordered both desserts to try but I'm glad we did. And I know what she meant haha!! Even though I'm more of a carrot cake gal over chocolate mousse; the mousse was better. That's service folks! Great staff, fantastic service, good food, and a memorable experience.

Great service overall and nice ambiance. We had a lot of fun but only downside was this obnoxious little boy who kept trying to get our attention by annoying us. Is he in kindergarten or something? We tried to keep our distance but we noticed him trying to photobomb our selfies and dancing behind us, practically mocking us. He even tried to get his friends to go along with his immature behavior but luckily nobody thought he was being funny or cute and didn't join in the bullying. He finally left us alone once we stood near the security guard. Ladies, enjoy but always beware....there still are creeps with double chins and beer bellies out there, ready to harass you for the sake of their ego. Stay safe!

Always great to coming back! Sole was delicious! Best escargots ever. They brought us an incredible chocolate cake. Dancing floor is fun. We celebrate our anniversary!

Totally agree with the Yelp description of "lively local spot." I definitely recommend making a reservation because it appears to be a very popular spot for dinner, grabbing drinks and late night fun (there was a line to get in when we left dinner around 10pm). From the outside it looks rather unassuming but once you enter it is a contemporary atmosphere with mood lighting, lots of liveliness and entertainment singing popular songs. I was also surprised at how many areas it had - the main bar/dance-floor right as you enter, main dining room and another room in the far back. We came for dinner so we were seated in the main dining area in a booth along the wall which provided a prime people-watching view. A quick observation was the variety of diners, from children to golfers to people celebrating birthdays. Many people joined in on "dinner karaoke" singing along with the local entertainment as well as singing happy birthday. A clown also was wandering the restaurant, no idea why but that was entertaining. On to the food and service. I must say they are a well oiled machine, the staff works very well together in providing great service. Our drinks came out so quickly and our water cups were never empty. They had some pretty good specials this night and I ordered one of them - scallop pasta in a lemon sauce. We also ordered the classic petite filet which came with a hearty serving of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Also an added bonus is the salad or soup option that comes with entrees. I will say the food was rather tasty and can see why many people dine here. Additionally, was pleasantly surprised that their house wine was Daou (love it!). Lastly, You could literally stay here all night. After dinner you could move to the bar area, meet people, enjoy the entertainment and dance. If I didn't have such an early day the next day I would've stayed. Friendly vibes, great atmosphere and good food sums up this place for me.

I enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner at The Nest. It was my 1st time dining there. I decided to make a reservation weeks ago as I was going to visit the area during the Valentine's week end. The tuna toastado appetizer was extremely tasty. The spinach artichoke cheese dip was hot and cheesy and went well with the pita bread it was served with. The iceberg wedge was not fabulous.

No they are not. They are more Mediterranean

Our potato chip basket serves about 4 people!

Is there a corkage fee and if so, how much?

Corkage fee is $25 per bottle every day, but tuesdays are free!

Dined here last night food was amazing but I'm very confused what's up with the clown?

We found it rather odd as well, so I asked our waiter. He just said it was part of the entertainment. It just seemed so strange for me for this type of restaurant to consider a clown entertainment.

    When does the music start?

When I went in the evening it was until 9-10pm weekdays & weekends

    Is there live music today?

Yes. They have music 7 days a week.

How do I make online dinner reservations?

    Call them.

    Where is the parking?

On side street, around the corner.

What is the wine corkage fee?

sorry can't help not a drinker but I can say the meals are wonderful it has become one of our favorite places to eat when we are in the area. Whatever the fee the food will make up for the cost. + owners are fabulous

Does the bar have a bar menu?

Yes, there is an excellent bar menu! Everything on there is delicious.

Can you request songs for them to play?

    Yes!!!

Which nights do they have live music?

Definitely 7 nights a week with live band everyday replaced with DJ at about 11 every night. Friday and Saturday there is a separate room also running playing DJ'd hip hop and current music. And Sunday all day with various music.

Our group started out with the above mentioned Pulpo Chicharrones. Crispy Octopus bites served with fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, and flour tortilla chips. The octopus had a charred crispy exterior that gave way to a buttery-tender interior. None of the rubbery texture that so often turns people off. For entrees, we selected the Whole Fried Huachinango (Red Snapper), 7 Oceanas (think "Spanish Chioppino"), and Pan Seared Halibut which was the special of the day. The halibut special featured a very generous pan seared filet on a bed of white wine risotto with a sesame seed veloute and asparagus. The 7 Oceanas consisted of perfectly cooked octopus, white fish, clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and scallop in a rich broth with tomato, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, and guajillo peppers. Served with housemade telera bread sticks to sop up the amazing broth. The snapper was deep fried to perfection leaving the skin super crispy and fleah moist and flaky. Drizzled with an adobo sauce and served with grilled sliced lemons, chayote squash and baby potatoes. Our only complaint was the snapper was not true red snapper as advertised, but rather porgy (we think). Red snapper is one of the most substituted fish and very few people in the world could tell them apart. My partner Ernie is a connoisseur, and he can. The dish was still excellent, we just wish it wasn't advertised as Huachinango. This hidden gem delivered fresh seafood, tasty cocktails with a nod to tequila and mezcal drinks crafted by owner Marco Castellanos, and friendly attentive service from Gina.

Three large pieces of fish and potato wedges, everything fresh, also instead of coleslaw we were able substitute for a $1 more a small Cesar side salad. The dressing was good, very tasty. My daughter ordered off the regular menu, she got the Hawaiian Combo. This has salmon, mahi-mahi and grilled shrimp, teriyaki sauce and grilled pineapple, with sweet potato fries and a Cesar's salad, as her sides. She said everything was very good, except the shrimp was a little overcooked. We also ordered a side of cheese garlic bread, which was fresh and tasty, did not disappoint! Palm Desert retail is below while Palm Springs is right next door. Both have access to restaurants and retail. This location has a decent size dining room and a pretty big covered patio that wraps around. At first we thought that we would have to check in with the hostess for a seat at the bar but found out that we didn't as someone else just walked right up. It was the start of happy hour which was the reason for the visit. Just wanted a drink and maybe a light bite. There was 2 seats that were available at the bar which was perfect timing as when we got seated, a few other people walked in but ended up just ordering drinks while waiting for a seat to open up. Happy hours from 3-5 which I feel like loads of people come for it. They offer a couple dollars off of starters, wine and beer. For small bites, 5.00 sliders and 6.00 fish tacos. Limited but a little discount on the starters. We had a glass of wine which was 4.00 off with the HH. Of course with that, something to munch on was needed. Clearly they're known for the coconut shrimp starters which we were informed by the bartender. And from the looks of it, pretty much everyone sitting there had an order. Which was a given for us to get. It came with five shrimp, decent size with a nice glaze sauce and adorned with coleslaw which was quite tasty. Definitely worth it. And the sliders, one each. Wow, I'm not much of a burger person but they were tasty. Cooked perfectly, the meat was juicy and served pretty simple with grilled onions, sauce, a slice of cheese and a slice of pickle on top of the bun. Simple yet very tasty and flavorful. The service was great at the bar. Gentlemen taking care of use was sweet and quite friendly. Seemed like it's a local and regular hangout as he seemed to know everyone sitting there. The wine was tasty and the bites were great. Coconut shrimp was a hit as well as the sliders which I do recommend. Even on a Monday right at 3, the bar area was pretty packed already. Today's lunch with family and friends was especially frustrating, and everyone left unhappy. The kids' sliders were burnt on both ends, and the chicken was overcooked and even contained a long hair. We were served appetizers without any plates and had to get up and ask for them ourselves. We also ordered three appetizers, but only two arrived. When we asked about the missing appetizer, we were told it would come out later because the other family in our party had ordered it. That explanation made no sense. Appetizers should be served together regardless of which members of the party ordered them. To make matters worse, when we requested separate checks, we were told the restaurant could not accommodate that request. We have dined here many times in the past and have never had an issue receiving separate checks, so this was surprising and frustrating. The waiter just gave us the option to split the check evenly on two cards which is not helpful since one family spent far less than the other. Apparently the food could be separated by family, but the bill could not. Service throughout the meal was poor. We were never offered additional cocktails or soft drink refills until we had already finished eating. Dirty plates sat on the table for an extended period of time, attracting multiple flies and creating an unpleasant dining experience. It's disappointing because this restaurant was once one of our favorites, but after two consecutive poor experiences, we're finding it difficult to justify returning.
