The New Bingley Hall is a strange little events space located just out of the Jewellery Quarter, next to the Hockley Flyover. Short of an actual event, I'm not sure why you would end up visiting (although I can see from the other reviews that it is also a banqueting hall). It's a bit of a blank canvas outside (looking smart, but rather dull), but it does offer a generous amount of parking or is reachable by foot or bus. It was a good choice for a beer festival. With it's huge cavernous rooms it presented loads of space to have multiple bars offering over 300 beers in one place. It's also got a nice little outdoor/indoor space which floods with natural light from the huge windows and allows for more attractions and food vendors to be located at an event. It might be considered a bit of a pain to get to from town, but it's around a 10 minute walk from Jewellery Quarter train station. It's in a very industrial area, but being located by the flyover means it's still walkable and busy enough not to feel like the sticks. In terms of facilities, it boasted a large reception space, a big bar area and lots of clean toilets (with disabled conveniences as well). There was some seating provided on the day, but I imagine much more would be available should you be hosting a large event here. A smoking area was provided outside the venue, but again, I imagine this would be different as per the event you were attending at the time. In summary, I would attend an event at the New Bingley Hall again. It's an empty shell ready to decorate as the need requires and boasts enough space to host very large capacity events. It's convenient enough to get to and seemed to have enough facilities for the number it hosts. read more

As I have only visited once, for the Birmingham Beer Festival, it is hard to give it a full comprehensive review. I am told they do weddings here too(?). It's a very large space and for the festival itself I thought it was indeed the ideal space. It doesn't look much from the outside and perhaps not the easiest place to get to unless you drive, but I think it was worth the trip for me. It is spacious and airy, there are plenty of chairs and table and the toilets were very clean and tidy. read more

One of THE most impressive banqueting suites in Birmingham is by far the New Bingley Hall. Formally the central bus depot, this venue has a massive 1,800 guest capacity with 250 car parking spaces. It's close to the city centre and hard to miss, given its mammoth size. The owners have splashed out with an elegant design scheme and impressive chandeliers inside the main suite. They have changing rooms for the bride and groom with ensuite bathrooms, disabled access and baby changing rooms. Private rooms are also available. Round tables and banqueting chairs come as standard. The glamour and prestige does come with a price tag, although this is one venue that has left an impression with me. They are also licensed to conduct civil marriages so you could celebrate your entire wedding under one roof. The venue is often used for exhibitions and corporate events. read more

Located just in the out skirts of the main city centre, Bingley Hall is an alternative venue for all those wedding receptions, large conferences, music events and more. Famously used for major Asian weddings, it's a spacious venue offering a diverse range of facilities for those wanting a little extra. From the outside it looks like a massive industry building, silver/grey in colour with a modern twist. From a drinks reception to a live human walkway, they have all the facilities to cover these types of events to the best of their abilities. I've attended music events, wedding receptions and conferences at the Bingley Hall- they've all been well organised and looked spectacular. I've enjoyed every single event held there so it's a great venue. Overall, the best event I went to at the Bingley Hall was an Asian wedding; one of my friend's sister got married there and it was absolutely lavish. They had a 5 star reception and the team at the venue looked after the guests really well. read more

The suite had been booked to host a large 500 seat Indian banquet and, although the venue looks nice, the staffing and catering were woeful. When we arrived there was one of the three bars open and 4 staff - leading to huge queues. Things then got worse. I counted 14 waiters to cover all of the tables. Food was slow to arrive and portions tiny. We were told we could ask for more but no waiters were around or those that we could see spoke little or no English. Our table of 8 had 3 poppodoms broken up and then the raita etc arrived 10 minutes later. The starter was just as poor and left us laughing in disbelief. The main eventually arrived but was poor in both quality and quantity. We gave up waiting for nan bread. We were meant to have puddings but no sign of those although we did see one table with 32 of them at the end where waiters had dumped them. It was booked through second city suites and was their catering. Don't make the same mistake. Avoid. If this was a wedding, it would be wrecked. read more
