We were there in late October 2019, deep in the off season, and so we were among the few guests in this large hotel set up for small conventions and large business conferences. The picture will show you how beautifully appointed, and how empty, the breakfast room was, so we pretty much had all the sumptuous food to ourselves. We gave them 6 days notice and they insisted on charging us for the day. After spending 4000 euro they treated us like this. Avoid this hotel at all cost! I've stayed in hotels all over the world for many years and have never experienced anything like this. Overall the hotel itself is not great, probably on par with a days inn.

We asked for a late check out and our request was fulfilled. The front desk even called a taxi for us as requested early in the morning. The room was clean and basic, but the bathroom was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. I unfortunately cannot comment on the other facilities of this hotel as my stay was short. The hotel has its own feel to it and it actually is refreshing to get away from the standard hotel chains. I only wish I took a picture of our room, but by the time I thought about it we were already well settled in. Overall, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend.

I have stayed at the Niu Welly maybe 5 or 6 times, but since they became IHG, things have gone a…read morelittle downhill: First off, the Niu Welly used to offer a small drink for when you don't need your room cleaned. This perk is no longer. I stayed for 11 days so at the halfway point I was looking forward to getting my room cleaned. But, instead of maybe vacuuming, cleaning the toilet, sink and shower, making the bed etc., all they did was take the trash and place new towels. That's it! No vacuuming, no dusting, no cleaning the bathroom. I was disappointed, bought a sponge and cleaning solution and cleaned and dusted the surfaces myself. Obviously couldn't vacuum... Another thing that was annoying is that the AC turns itself off at night after a couple of hours so I woke up every night drenched in sweat, having to turn it back on. Lastly, if your room faces the street/front entrance, other guests will smoke there day and night, so your room will smell of smoke if you open your window. I've had many nice stays at the Welly, but it might be time to shop around for a different place.

They let us have access to the room well in advance to add any decorations we wanted. They also offered helpful suggestions on our menu. Food and service were so quick and everyone was very friendly. Several of us were English speaking only and they were very accommodating. The food was amazing!!!! Our guests are still talking about it. We were there with our party until very late and were never rushed. I literally could not ask for more. We had so much fun. We also stayed in a room here for the night. The room was spacious and very clean and in the morning we had a nice breakfast. I am so grateful to everyone here for making our wedding day so special and relaxing!
