The Nook is a really special place. In my opinion, places like Mirasol are extremely overrated compared to what The Nook offers. The drinks here are outstanding. The Painkiller is fantastic, especially if you add caramel. The Epic Vanilla Skooma is dangerously addictive - the flavor profile is incredible, and honestly nobody else in the area comes close. The Buzz is another excellent choice. The food is just as impressive. Their linguica and cheese rolls are leagues above the competition, and I'd put them alongside the very best around. I highly recommend ordering a regular cheese roll leveled up with egg, bacon, and their house-made hot sauce. If you enjoy a Portuguese style hot sauce, this combination is absolutely worth trying - you will not be disappointed. The peanut butter cookie is unreal; I genuinely wish I had the recipe. The baked goods are consistently excellent, and whenever they have a special, just order it. I've rarely been disappointed by anything they've made. I used to live nearby and honestly miss having this place around. Their pizzas deserve recognition too. They're some of my favorite bar style pizzas in the area. If you prefer an ultra thin pizza, you might lean toward Dipper Cafe, but it's hard to beat The Meatball Thing, the Thanksgiving pizza during the holidays, and many of their other specialty pies. The atmosphere adds even more to the experience. They have arcade style games you can play while you wait, and the music is always great. If you're into King Diamond or heavier music, you'll probably hear something you love. If you live nearby or are just passing through the area, don't skip The Nook. For me - and for everyone I've recommended it to - The Nook easily earns the title of best coffee shop in the area. read more

Very unassuming from the outside but this place packs a punch! We were looking for a coffee spot before lunch and was pleasantly surprised to have found The Nook! Street parking only - we went on a Tuesday morning so there wasn't as much foot traffic when we got there, but it was a steady flow the entire time. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, I was in between a nitro cold brew and the local buzz, we were offered a sample to help make our choices! Local buzz was a bit too sweet for me so they suggested a half and half (half cold brew and half local buzz!) - what a great choice! The linguica roll was staring at me so I ordered one even thought we were going to have lunch soon - I didn't regret one bite! It was chock full of linguica and was so tasty!! I'd go back for that alone! The place is a bit small but cozy and has some nostalgic video games you can play. They have a nice guitar collection on the walls to admire - look don't touch! I love a good chippy as much as the next gal, but this coffee shop is hands down the BEST in the area! I always make a point to stop by when I visit Fairhaven, and I'm never disappointed. The service is lovely, menu creative, and decore nostalgic and fun. Think gaming cafe meets small town coffee shop. The staff are friendly and know their regulars by name and order. They have good pizza too, so it makes a great stop for lunch or an early dinner. Add this one to your list and be sure to leave enough time to play a few rounds of classic Mario, arcade Pac-Man, and others. When you're ready to leave take your coffee and walk around the picturesque New England town, strolling down to the wharf, nearby Millicent library, or down to fort phoenix overlook. This is one of my favorite little spots to hide out for a couple hours. I almost don't even want to share it. What's here is a tiny coffee shop with retro game consoles on the tables so you can geek out on Super Nintendo while drinking a ridiculously caffeinated coffee blend called Skooma, or another concoction named after video games, horror movies, and heavy metal. There's a couple amps and guitars if you need to jam out, or you can just kick back in a chair and look at all the horror movies masks and action figures on the wall. It's a cool place that takes a lot of pride in their creations, and the 90's high school metalhead inside me feels right at home read more

Underrated spot!!! You'd never guess how good the coffee is here but it's worth a stop. The employees are cool and will recommend you something off the menu if you're unsure what to try. I wish it was a little bigger and had more space to hang out but it's literally just one room with some video games and board games, the coffee counter and the back kitchen behind it. Not an uncomfortable vibe though if you do want to hang out for a bit, just not a ton of seating so if there's already other people hanging out you might feel weird. Unbelievable experience. We hail from Brooklyn which is one of the Mecca's of coffee and Yelp led us to this gem. The owner has a real appreciation for coffee and it's origins. Come prepared to walk away with one of the best coffee/espresso drinks you can find, because I certainly did. The owner expertly blends different types of coffees with their proper pairings. For example, we were recommended dark 80% ghiradelli for the nitro coffee since to bring out its mocha flavors. This shop uses different grind methods to ensure the integrity of the bean. There is a drink that uses a cold press method which was wonderful. It's certainly an experience I would recommend and if you love close by you have the luxury to call yourself a regular. read more

My husband and I travel through FairHaven on our boat, SaltyPaws. Walking our Jack Russel Terrier from the FairHaven Shipyard to the Nook for a cup of Joe is a high point. Stopped here somewhat randomly on the at back from the beach. We were searching for a pizza place. We very much enjoyed the pizza, but it was the great service, ambience, and DeLICIOUS drinks that we thoroughly enjoyed. If you like coffee, boba tea. Or yummy frozen drinks, check this place out. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! Honestly, I love everything about this place! The coffee is so delicious and flavorful! The menu is small, but perfect for the place and cafe style feel. The coffee menu is exciting and huge! A little confusing, but there always seems to be someone there who knows just how to explain everything in a way you understand. They also have an awesome layout inside with different old style vid game systems and decor galore!! Finally got a chance to try The Nook after hearing wonderful things. I came on a Friday morning during the pandemic, which is an odd way to be introduced to a business at no fault of theirs. I didn't want to linger so I ordered large skim iced latte and a brown sugar cinnamon scone. The iced latte was super smooth, I really loved the espresso roast they use. The scone was also delicious and a perfect treat to pair with the coffee. I'm looking forward to returning to try more treats and coffees. It looks like when things go back to normal this will be a neat coffee shop to hang out in. read more

What a diamond in the ruff find! Driving around the area in the rain this past weekend, I really just wanted a tasty coffee drink and after a quick yelp search we stumbled into this coffee house. The staff was exceptional in their customer service and were so friendly to offer up a taste of their signature BUZZ and provide recommendations based on what we were craving. They were spot on. I got the Girl Scout which was a mint chocolate frappe that was just delicious. The decor added to this places charm with masks from older movies, and classic Nintendo to enjoy. Molecular gastronomy, once the sole domain of celebrity Iron Chefs on food television and spendy Manhattan restaurants, has come to Fairhaven to disrupt the status quo of coffee. The mad scientists at "The Nook" have created a menu of unique, delicious coffee beverages based on combining chemistry with carefully procured high-end coffee stones. Like everyone's favorite TV chemist, Walter White, the eccentric geniuses behind the Nook create extremely addictive substances that will most definitely quicken your heart rate. Nitro Coffee is The Nook's gift to Southeastern Massachusetts. Nitro stands for "nitrogen," and it affects both taste and texture of the coffee, resulting in a somewhat-creamy, somewhat-sweet coffee even when served black as I had it. I didn't need to add anything to it, and despite tasting as sweet and rich as it did, my delicious cup of the Nook's Nitro Coffee contained no more than 2 calories. I also sampled the Nook's Nitro Latte, which is cold-pressed espresso blended with water and milk. Again, the creaminess of the nitrogenation process allows them to use less dairy, and a cup will cost you a mere 80 calories, or about half of what an equivalent-sized latte would expand your waste by at Starbucks. Finally, I also had the "Local Buzz," which is a peppy "grown-up grade" coffee-flavored milk built on top of the Nook's homemade coffee syrup and consisting of vanilla combined with all-natural sweetening ingredients such as maple syrup and local honey. You can't go wrong with any of the beverages I tried, but perhaps my favorite thing I ordered was the Nook's Linguiça Roll. Within the Nook's rendition of this regional treat, spicy slices of browned linguiça sausage swim in melted cheese, encased in a buttery, sweet, soft, bread-y roll. Ask that they heat one up for you and prepare to be blown away by the combined flavors of this simple, yet devastatingly effective pastry that has been immaculately engineered such that the whole is greater than the mere sum of its parts. With Davy's Locker's closure a few years back (marking the unfortunate end of availability of their rendition of "Shrimp Moçambique"), I am prepared to crown the Nook's linguiça rolls as Southeastern Massachusetts' best bite of food. They're that good! Conveniently located in Fairhaven's beautiful waterfront and bustling "downtown" area, and walking distance from Fort Phoenix beach, on a street with plenty of street parking available, the Nook is a destination that I expect will delight both locals and visitors (such as myself) for many years to come. read more

A hidden gem! This is hands-down the best Southcoast coffee shop. Every coffee drink I've tried here is high quality and delicious. They also do a stamp loyalty card. Prices are like Starbucks but it's locally-owned and way tastier + cooler vibes than Starbucks. The only food I've tried is the linguiça cheese rolls- they're my favorite ones around. They always have beautiful and delicious looking sweet treats, I'm just trying to stay away from sugar...but for everyone with a sweet tooth they look amazing!
