The building itself is kept immaculately clean and the staff have always been uber friendly and professional. I originally purchased a Living Social (think Groupon) deal over a year ago for laser hair removal. I found out shortly after that I was pregnant and was unable to use the voucher. The laser technician, Jillian, offered for me to return after I had my baby and advised that they would extend the expiry date. Since having my baby 9 months ago, I have come for 2 session, with Jillian, who has been an absolute pleasure. I was definitely a little nervous, to say the least, that I may be treated differently because of my voucher but that has not been the case. They have free parking spaces in the back (so don't pay at a meter on 124th street) and a basket of sandals to slip on when you come through the door. You will walk through the Chiropractic area filled with modern items like stability balls and a trampoline. The decor is gorgeous and quite tranquil! The owner, Dr. Greg Stiles, is a chiropractor and I have run into him several times - and is he is as charming as he is handsome. I have overhead him working with patients and he has an amazingly calm and gentle demeanour. Even Jillian, the laser technician I see, has only had wonderful things to say about working for him. In fact, when I consider chiropractic treatments in the future I will start with Mr. Stiles! I also appreciate that they sell items that are health conscious - nail polishes free of dbp, formaldehyde and toluene. The also carry the Juice Plus line of greens and fruits that is supported by Dr. William Sears (www.askdrsears.com) - MY FAVORITE go to doctor and website for all things natural and parenting! They carry a few of his books here and I also was able to check out one of his DVDs to borrow for free! Upon arrival, I am always offered complimentary tea (and they have quite a selection) or chilled water. They have apples and snacks in their tranquil seating area that also boasts a fireplace. I uploaded a few pics - so check them out! I've also picked up some goodies from their clearance bin for my toddler (nail polish free of all that junk I mentioned above) and some high end make up items for myself. I asked my friend, the athlete, who she goes to and she recommended Oksana at Art of Healing Pain. She told me that she had thought she had a stress fracture and was going to have to quit running right at the beginning of marathon season. After a couple of massage sessions with Oksana she was able to make it to every marathon she had planned on. She also managed to hit her time goals to boot. The Art of Healing pain is in the basement of a house in the Dickenfield neighbourhood. It's very clean and comfortable. Oksana is very thorough in her history taking and always seems to be able to get to the cause of your problems. I have been a regular of hers for a while now and I never leave disappointed. In fact I usually leave amazed at how much better I feel. She even manages to find the muscles that you didn't even realize were bothering you but were anyway. While on the massage table she's very careful at making sure you are comfortable and kept decent. She uses a blend of natural oils which leaves your skin soft but not oily. The music is soft and soothing. On top of her magical hands Oksana also has some awesome conversation skills. She know exactly when to talk to keep you distracted from the discomfort and when to leave you in silence to embrace the healing effects of her skill. Seriously I cannot recommend this lady enough. She can perform many style of massage techniques as well as cupping, acupuncture and acupressure and all other kinds of weird and magical arts that just leave you feeling like a million bucks.

I only went in for an eyebrow wax and I didn't realise my appointment was with Julie herself. She gave me a form to fill in and offered me coffee while I waited for her to prepare the room. When she took me through to the waxing room the first thing I noticed was its size, its was quite spacious with a lovely vanity area and a HUGE bed that had a lovely big faux fur throw. It was super comfy and warm! There was an electric blanket on underneath - I could have quite happily napped there. It was so comfy and cozy, I felt very relaxed. As for the service itself, Julie asked if I had any specific instructions. I really appreciated this as she knew exactly what I wanted. We discussed brow shape and she showed me the best shape for my face and what to do to achieve the look I want. I've had a few brow waxes that were quite sore and my skin can go red straight after, but Julie was so gentle it was not sore at all. I was a little red but she gave me a cooling gel and a tinted moisturiser before I left. Service from start to end was fantastic. I will be back to try some of her other services.
