Located along busy Vesterbrogade north of the meatpacking district, you ring a door bell to get into the waiting area. Once in, the bookshelf opens into the bar space. During the week, they keep the front room open and open the back room on weekends when its more than tourists visiting. The cocktail menu is long, but even better are the bartenders. Taking pride in what they do, you can ask them to make a drink that you like. They appreciate the challenge. My friend and I both did bartender's choice and were pleased with our drinks. We also had fun chatting with the two bartenders. They asked us questions about our hometown and gave us many insights into Copenhagen life and Danish culture.

Met some great local guys who ended up getting some dice from the bar and played some games, enjoyed the fooseball tables and the pool tables in the basement. As an American, I especially enjoyed all the album covers on the wall and how the basement pool table area felt just like an American dive bar would have in the 1980s (complete with accompanying American tunes!). The bartender chatted with us as she was packing up for the night and provided excellent service all evening. The crowd was mostly young people, all of whom seemed to be having a great time, with not even a phone in sight! It really did feel like traveling back in time to a different kind of "going out for drinks" than a lot of people are used to. Definitely worth stopping in for a pint and some games!

This spot is located in the meatpacking district of Copenhagen. Sure, there are lots of dirty drug users mulling about but there are also well-dressed young professionals grabbing Danish fare and Carlsberg drafts in large groups. Its the epicenter of this socialist society. There are no boundaries. The outdoor area is clutch in the summer and most of the patrons are loud/boisterous yet friendly. Join a crowd and start yelling, too. Be like Louis R, hit up the Denmark grimey spots.
