We got to experience it during the Christmas holidays, which was nice for sight seeing. It opens at 9 am on weekdays, and the outside doors opened to the public about 5 minutes before. Many of the stores open soon after. The 3rd story consists of a variety of restaurants, all of which were closed that early in the day. Instead, quite a few coffee shops were open, including a lot of Costa's. The center of the mall consists of elevators and a set of escalators. Even at 9, there were quite a few people working and browsing.

Plenty of eateries, although the large one on the 1st floor is nothing to rave about & very noisy. Always clean, Multi story car park with plenty of paypoints, toilets are million times better since the alterations, pleasant staff, plenty of escalators but only two lifts so don't park on the very top floor if you need one. I think the Christmas lights & Santas Grotto are very disappointing this year not up to previous standards. Bus station one side & train station the other. All the other major store are situated in the pedestrian precinct just outside the mall.

I'm not saying the town is a worse place for it - heaven knows where we'd be without a Maccy D outlet and fifteen mobile phone shops, but it's a rich irony in a town that HAS A BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN PEDESTRIANISED PRECINCT AND AN OLD HIGH STREET FULL OF INTERESTING, INDEPENDENT RETAILERS that the masses go here instead. You don't know what you've got 'til you lose it.... That I've given the place one star at all is in recognition of the fantastic red outfits the poor Westfield staff have to wear. I'll have a pint of what the clothes designer was on!!! They are BRIGHT RED. Unbelievably crazy choice chaps!!!!
