We walked in excited to grab a bite of lovely Italian food and left bewildered, frustrated and…read morebemused as to how a restaurant could get so many things wrong. Our poor waitress must have been on her first day without any training whatsoever. Our first warning light was when our food order was taken but no drinks. We actually had to go and get a wine menu. Our starters were fine and our mains were fine too. Although our waitress exclaimed that the two large lasagnes were the last two pieces so were smaller than usual. At no point did she say we'll only charge you a small portion. The fries were fine if not extremely small and certainly not worth $7. The value for money really became poor during dessert. $12 for two profiteroles that were stodgy and tasted worse than a Coles dessert. When we complained that the chocolate mousse was runny and not a mousse we were told that was how the chef gave it to her and that it was fine. Customer service was not a strong point (especially for the poor diners behind us who got the complete wrong order and than were argued with by the waitress!!) and a quick fix could have been a new desert or an investigation. After asking for the bill we waited approximately 10 minutes. In this time we saw the waitress we asked to get the bill from empty the dish-washer, clean tables and generally not doing anything interesting. When we asked if we could have our bill she said she was busy with other things and she was sorry. When I said that emptying the dishwasher could have waited she argued with me and said she never emptied it - bamboozling!! We got the bill. Two large lasagnes! We asked if they could be changed and she obliged. When we asked about the sloppy mousse she had to get permission from the manager to refund. Again, fair enough. However after a further 5 minutes of calculator bashing, she came to our table said she was bad at maths and that even by taking off the mistakes we owed another $7! After asking for the manager and hearing our original waitress moan about us to them, the manager eventually came over and showed the first bit of customer service we saw all night. We paid, albeit begrudgingly - but at least we got dinner and a show. As for the restaurant itself, the decor was lovely but lacked atmosphere and ambiance. The lights were too bright and the constant obnoxious sound of their telephone was jarring and made me feel like we were eating dinner in a call centre.

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the waiters are generally very very nice. However, the food was just not up to par with the prices. We ordered a pizza crust that wasn't actually a pizza crust, it was basically a plain pizza (anyone can just google what the dish pizza crust is suppose to be), a scampi risotto that tasted like the proportions of the ingredients involved were x50 in ratio and a blue crab pappardelle. My pappardelle was so bad I don't even know how to explain it. Imagine, a dish so swamped in sauce that a pasta dish, that had once probably had the garnishes and original flavors of a blue crab pappardelle, tasted like 5 sticks of butter. I have had this dish at various locations throughout Sydney's dining scene--from low end to high end-- and never have I tasted such a poor version of the dish. If this type of flavoring is your style, however, then this place is very very compatible for you!

The staff are great with friends and family alike. Our 2 year old even walks right up to the table we sit nearly every time. Very much recommended if you're looking for great Italian food in the area. The mussles are to DIE FOR!
