I had a great experience here the other day! I had to find a new stylist and my cousin recommended that I see Cara. Booking was super easy as I just DM'd cara on her Instagram. Most of the stylists at the One Salon have their own Instagram page so you can see their work. It's really helpful! The interior of this salon is beautiful! It makes the experience so much better. I have to appreciate that they have beautiful circular mirrors at the stations. Because nothing is more unflattering than those typical full length mirrors that you find at most salons. The modern interior definitely fits the vibe. Overall it's a fun, upbeat salon. Cara is currently a Jr stylist but she did a great job on my hair! She recommended a few things and did exactly what I asked. What more can you want! I'm definitely looking forward to going back. The salon is easy to find with plenty of parking available. read more

After 2 yrs of not getting my hair done I sat for 3 hrs of color and a 2 minute cut!!! 2 minutes!!! I hoped for layers as it was in my reference photo and the stylist said she didn't want to do layers. With my hair style still looking the same just a little shorter the color didn't matter which by the way was done poorly as well. I specifically booked for a balayage lighter ends and I didn't get that either. The toner washed out in one shampoo. Super depressed. Will NOT go back. Money down the drain. read more

This salon has terrible customer service!! I made an appointment for my first time visit today on the recommendation of an acquaintance. I was given the time of 2:30pm over the phone and put it in my smartphone calendar right away. When I arrived today at 2:35pm, the snotty little receptionist told me my appointment was for 2:15 and couldn't take me in. We argued about it and she made it out to be my fault I had the wrong time and then said I was 6 minutes late. She offered to give me an appointment for the next day with a trainee when I specifically asked for the one I was referred to. Very unprofessional and snotty service when it was their mistake. The salon was not busy at all and could have offered someone else. A terrible first impression and do not recommend going here especially when they f---ed up in the beginning!! read more

The place was nice and clean but when I asked for an even cut, they cut the top layer shorter so my hair wouldn't be so "puffy" at the end and disregarded what I wanted. I need to cut it again for it to look normal! on the up side the employees were nice. read more

I wish I could give The One & (especially) Trenna more than 5 stars. All of the girls who work there are amazing but Trenna's work is magical. I've been going to her for 6 years and I have never been anything but 150% satisfied with everything she has done. Cuts, colours *i've had a few!!*, highlights, low lights, pink chunks...etc etc and I have LOVED everything. I followed her from another saloon (which shall never be mentioned) and The One is much more relaxed and professional. Let's be honest, upkeep on colour and highlights can be expensive but the results I get with Trenna are worth every penny!! I will never trust my hair with anyone else. read more

I've been look for a place to get my hair cut for quite some time and I'm glad I came to The One Salon! When you first enter they offer you a drink (I don't know what they have since I already had one). The salon itself was nice, clean and spacious. It wasn't very busy and I was able to call around noon and make an appointment. My stylist was Megan and she was was friendly and overall, awesome to be around. The past few years when I've gone to get a hair cut I've come out disappointed but not this time. Megan would always ask me what I wanted, if it was okay to cut off a certain amount, etc. No regret here from cutting a few inches off! I'm very happy with my hair and the service I got here and will definitely be back! read more

I've been going to Trenna for the past couple of years and have been so impressed with her abilities. She is extremely creative, is a trendsetter within current styles and will really listen to her clients and what makes them feel beautiful. I've had my hair coloured each time I've gone in and she is detailed and never rushes so the quality is impeccable. I'm also a full time medical student and one of my requests is that I have a cut and colour that looks stylish, professional and will last a couple of months (which she has always been able to accomplish). Very dissapointed!!!! I made a appointment over 2 weeks ago only to be called 30 mins before and having the appontment cancelled. No sorry offered and just a when would you like to rebook. I find it funny that I get told on 2 sepperate occasions that they will need 24 hours notice before i cancell yet they only give me 30 mins!!! Seems like they dont feel like my time is worth the same ammount as theirs. I will never go here and i will ensure that everyone i speak to knows about the experience i have had with this place. This place is NOT GOOD. My daughter who has very short hair and very little hair has gone there and has been charged over 300 dollars for streaks no colour and a cut. And her hair looked like it was done at super cuts WHERE it probably would have cost her 60-90 bucks and have done a much better job. I have gone in there just to inquire how much a certain service would cost and their quotes are ridiculous!! The same services I asked about, I got done at another salon near by and they did an amazing job for half the price!! I have gone to some of the most expensive salons downtown and Whyte Ave so believe me I will pay for an amazing job specially since my hair is very curly and difficult. But I will not dare spend my money there ever or have my daughter spend hers again! Terrible job and super high prices. BE WARE. read more

So I have been getting my hair cut by Trenna for the last ten years and have followed her from another salon to this one. I love just letting her experiment....she is great. Definitely wouldn't drive the hour it takes to get here if it weren't for Trenna, but when you find someone who can work magic, you keep coming back. read more

Service was mediocre. Got charged $66 just for getting my hair trimmed.. Not worth it.

I stopped in on a Saturday as a walk in and they were able to take me in. I have short hair and just needed a cut to clean it up and shape it a bit. It's a short pixie style. Cassidy was great and very friendly. She did a good job on my cut. My only complaint is when she told me how much it cost. 57.00 for a wash and cut! No special product (mousse and a styling pomade only), and it took barely 30 minutes. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous gouging. I won't be back. I'm just not that rich. read more

I don't mind spending a good dollar on my hair. I usually pay about $60. This time it came to $74. plus tip. I have hair that is just above my shoulders. I do, however, want a good experience when I pay more than $50. I was surprised at how quiet the salon was and it's marked "for walk ins", they had a nice set of products to select from, and they were clean and tidy. I wasn't offered a coffee or water and customer service was mediocre. The stylist was skilled and had recently earned a commendation. I am pleased with the cut and the stylists good customer service but for that price I'd want a better overall experience. read more

I have to say I've never been so pleased in my color and overall experience. You get there and immediately offered a choice of drinks. I settled on French vanilla cap. I've never been to such a friendly environment. I was continually asked my opinion and extremely glade for the stylist as well. It wasn't to busy when I went in but soon got busier. I love the walk in approach being that I'm the kind of person that it's usually spur of the moment that I want my hair done right now and usually back down from what I originally wanted if I have to wait a few days for a booked appointment. Staff is friendly it's a nice environment. I like that my stylist wasn't pushing the products as I have way to much at home ( which the bf continually grumps about) I highly recommend Patricia and will be sticking with her. I've never had such vibrant color. Their amazing there. Many woman there had a array of things done ( lots of colors like mine or one color or cut) and I have to say seeing the other ladies work they did a amazing job as well. booked an apt for a color and cut when I went in the stylist had just basically started on another clients very long hair color. By the looks of it he would not be finished for awhile. He seemed of no interest that I was waiting or that two people were booked at the same time. I waited 15 minutes and left as it looked I would be waiting awhile with no offer of apology or offer to rebook. read more

I DO NOT recommend The One salon to anyone based on my own personal experience. I went into the salon to have my hair lightened from a dark brown (almost black) with natural red roots, and left paying much more than I thought I would because of the damaged it caused. I had a severe chemical burn on a singular spot on my head, and had to go to the emergency room as a result of it. As a faithful consumer who has gone to this salon multiple times, I told them what I went through with the hopes that they would refund me for my experience. Instead, they blamed me for what had happened, and refused to compensate me for the damage that was caused. Nearly a month later and I still have to apply medicated creams/ointments to my scalp. I strongly urge any consumers to consider going elsewhere. The experience I had here was horrible, and I will not be returning to this salon because of the extremely poor customer service they provided me with. read more
