The staff is professional and friendly. The location is perfect and the rooms have everything you need. Went there for Fathers Day and every family member enjoyed their meal. And considering all we had it was budget friendly- Huge hit! read more

Last minute booking and quite by chance. Very impressed with staff, accommodations, great food and price. Wish I had found this place 3 years ago when my child started uni at Bournemouth. read more

This was a bit of a random choice for me, a last mine business booking, but I truly feel on my feet with this Hotel. The Orchid has been having a full refurbishment over the past 4 months, and it's clear to see. The hotel was beautifully understated elegance with modern designer furnishings. My room was decorated with a soft pallete of greys, faun and autumnal colours which made it very restful. The chrome finishes added a touch of luxury and the view to the terrace was lovely. The breakfast room is also very funky with modern decor and a great full english breakfast, only let down by the cold plate it was served on which meant it was only just warm. Other touches like being given fresh milk at revolution were very pleasing as we're the USB power points in the room. If I'm back in Bournemouth I'll be back at The Orchid! NB: There was a warning in the room about some noise from parties and events on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you're not attending said events then be careful at weekend! read more

This hotel tries to sell itself higher than it actually is. It has obviously been renovated to try and appear modern, but has been done so in a cheap way. The public areas consist of a bar and restaurant, with lobby seating area and also a cute litt;e courtyard garden. Breakfast was quite tasty, with plenty on offer. The room we got was not great - although the website claims baths in all the rooms, ours only had a shower. We overlooked the car park and fire escape, were the maids kept popping out to have a fag, with the smell of smoke wafting into our room - lovely! There are better places in Bournemouth to stay for the price - don't be fooled by the internet pictures. read more

As budget hotels go, this is one of the best I've stayed and I travel a lot. The room was spacious. The bed solid and comfortable. There's coffee and tea available in the room along with a mini-fridge to keep your drinks cold. The bathroom in my room was huge and had a powerful shower. I hate weak showers, so i'd stay in this room just for the shower alone. My room also had an iron and ironing board, which is important to a road warrior like myself. Another big plus was FREE WiFi in the room. Awesome. Many of the big hotels like to charge you an arm and leg for Internet access. The connection was fast. The only downside to the room was the TV. It's a bit dated, but then again, I don't watch a lot of TV anyway. Who needs TV when you have the Internet right? The breakfast was awesome. The staff were friendly and the service good. Plenty to eat. For £35 a night this is a great place to stay with easy access to Bournemouth town centre and the beach front. I'd definitely stay here again, if only for the shower and the free Wifi. read more

Very disappointing, the pictures we saw on the Internet are nothing like the b&b we stayed in. The only good part of the hotel was the breakfast. The room we had was complete shambles, completely unsafe for children, everything in the room was cheap & nasty, & falling apart! They need to shut down the this place before it gets closed down! The only good part of our stay, was the breakfast! read more
