There is a big dual carriage way on one site and an industrial estate on the other site. The rooms are a little bit dated compare to the other hotel. The hotel is wheelchair accessible (but no roll-in shower).

It's great for a long weekend or something longer, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It is a 5 minute walk from Weymouth centre, and the walk couldn't get much better on a summers day. The only problem I have with this hotel, is that in the space of 1 year, the price has gone up steadily from around £50 a night, to £65. The hotel has also been extended twice, but its still sometimes quite difficult to make a reservation here. It seems to be extremely popular. This hotel is highly recommended by me.

There's a nice lounge and ample parking for guests. Outside has decking and is well maintained. It's only a few yards round the corner to the sea and a short walk into the town centre. I had to chase them to get the right details. When booking in, I said I would pay for both rooms. They required a credit card, which was fine, and then asked for another for the other room. I got them to finally understand I was paying for both rooms. I have no problem with hotels employing Eastern European staff, but those on the reception desk must have a good command of the English language. The room was OK, not brilliant, but OK. It is a 3 star after all. The en-suite was quite big, and designed for the disabled. Requested the use of an iron and ironing board, after three requests it finally arrived. The ironing board was stained, and it was only when I was using it to iron my sons new shirt that I realised that the stain was coming through onto the shirt. I was livid. I managed to disguise it as best as I could. Children can only eat in the restaurant before a certain time, and I think it was 5:30 pm, not absolutely sure of the time, but it was difficult for us. So we ate out. The arrangements for the wedding were very good, and the food was fine. Breakfast was something else. Waiting too long, and there was only three tables being used, so not rushed off their feet. One of the waitresses was sullen, and almost dropped the plate in front of you. They were less than attentive. It is not a hotel I'd choose to stay at if visiting Bournemouth again.

There is a sweeping driveway, which makes for great photo opportunities as the students arrive for their ball. The gardens are exquisite and the entrance to the hotel truly romantic. Except it's not the entrance. You have to drive to the back of the hotel on Grove Road. The 'front' of the hotel overlooks the sea. This hotel is very tasteful with out being overly grand. I'd love to stay there sometime.

We parked the car in the hotel car park - ask the reception to open the barrier for you. Great room with a view of the sea and good bar with half price cocktails from 5 til 7. We had dinner in the restaurant which was really good and the staff were great. Breakfast was also good and again the service was excellent. This was the first hotel in Bournemouth opened in 1812 and is still providing a comfortable and welcoming experience. Definitely recommend.

It felt almost nursing home like to me- I think there's even a call bell in the bathroom! the halls were this yellow pastel color and the decor were reminiscent of old school charm. This was great after coming off a big city tour of London and Paris for me. If you want more modern, then opt for a larger chain hotel, but if you want a charming beach inn, then this is the place. Staff were very friendly I left my international charger at home and they went all out to help me out. You're about 15 min walk from the beach pier, 15 min walk from the Bournemouth Train station. The area is relatively safe as you are near the Bournemouth University campus and the surrounding area feels residential. You're also near a lot of restaurants compared to other properties nearer to Boscomb Pier and to the East of Bournemouth. I got around Bournemouth with the 5 pound a day pass on the T1 bus btw. worth it to get out to Hengistbury head or to just roam around this town.
