Winemaker and owner Ben Parsons ("The Englishman") is a fellow cricket tragic who studied Oenology at the University of Adelaide's Roseworthy campus, a region that I am very familiar with as an ex-Adelaide lad. Ben was a fabulous Host, who gave us great insight into how his wines are produced, and how and why he offers so much variety. Some of the best wines that we have tasted anywhere. The Ordinary Fellow is a 'must visit' for anyone visiting Palisade. We joined the Wine of the Month Club, naturally!

I did a wine day with a group and this was our favorite experience. We did the barrel tasting and it was done by the owner who is obviously very knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time with us explaining the wines and I think most of us ended up buying something.

Such a cute indoor outdoor winery! We stopped in here on our ride from Denver to Telluride after lunch and did a wine tasting flight. So many great wines to choose from and only $15. There was no one in there while we were there but the bartender was very talkative and welcoming. They were bottling up some of the wines for fall and it seems like a great place to hang out in the summertime

Nice relaxing space. They are located in the former United Fruit Growners Assn. shed near downtown and the Union Pacific railroad tracks. They have a large shaded outdoor space and indoor space next to tasting bar and production area. They offer 7 wines (4 tastes for $15 + tax). I got the 2022 Sparkling Blanc de Noir wine from the highest vineyard in North America at 6800 ft near Delores, CO. Most European & California vineyards are much lower in elevation under 1500 ft. Very lively with smooth taste and small bubbles. Next was the 2023 Pinot Noir from the same elevation. A strong tannic rich wine. Next was the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon from Box Car Vineyard near Cortez, CO. Much smoother red wine. My last taste was the 2022 Petit Verdot from southern Utah. The vineyard had been partially abandoned and Ordinary Fellow came in to manage/harvest the grapes. They produced only 70 cases and were down to 3 bottles. A red wine with more structure than the Cabernet. The soil is chalky providing a different growing environment but hotter than Box Car canyon in Colorado. So I bought 3 separate bottles (Sparkling, Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Verdot) and go my wine tasting for free. They can hold my wine to pickup Sun before I go back to Denver. They have wine clubs. Neil was my server and he knew each wine with details about growing environment and tasting notes. He made several recommendations + nearby food choices.

Loved the barrel tasting and hearing the details about the wines. The space is large and a great place to hang out

Love the mission and the vision, especially being a business who believes in regenerative, hand harvesting for better quality over quantity.

We ordered a hamburger with a side of sweet potato fries (note I'm not a big fries eater, but the burger and fries were truly delicious). The burger was cooked to perfection, the slices of tomato were juicy and ripe and the fries were crispy with a creamy interior. We ordered a slice of the peach pie for dessert. The huge slice was topped with a crumble, side of whipped cream, along with small balls (molecular process?) of juicy peach balls. We came on the early side for happy hour (2 specialty drinks for the price of one- 9.00) two sangria flavors (green apple or peach)...whilst a tad sweet, we're good. The peach is less sweet than the green apple. If there are two of you ordering, order one per person and you can return for your second one even after happy hour ends.

We opted for the more informal setting of the Tapestry experience over Caroline's. We're staying at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade this week and thoroughly enjoying our stay! The breakfasts each morning offer a variety of delicious breakfast options. The wine tasting at 5pm offers up two delicious choices from a local winery. And tonight's dinner was exceptional. I ordered from the Tapestry menu. My burger on a gluten free bun was phenomenal!!! My husband ordered the New York Strip off Caroline's menu, and he thought it was quite good. The ambience of this room is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend dining here! Our server, Juan, was also really attentive and helpful. Tonight was a 5 star experience!

If you're over in the Palisade area, this is definitely worth a stop…read more I've made the drive to Palisade for Fidel's Cocina & Bar a couple times now, and honestly... it has not disappointed The chips & guac are some of the best around, and the DIP TRIO is a great starter -- black bean hummus, toasted pepita dip, guacamole, and house tortilla chips. Of course I had to add salsa, because... obviously Patti went with the Huevos Rancheros and really liked it Tyler tried the Chile Relleno and said it was the best one he's had in forever -- bold statement, but he's sticking to it. I've had the Chile Relleno too, and I get it. Fresh poblano, Oaxacan cheese, refried black beans, sour cream, pickled onion, cilantro, cotija... just yummy. I also tried the Oaxacan taco and carne asada taco, and both were absolutely on point -- juicy, flavor-packed, and straight-up And yes, Dad's jalapeño sauces are a must. The green and red both add that perfect little kick And a big win--they've got a great selection of gluten-free options (clearly marked), so it's easy to navigate if that matters to you And since it's a Mexican restaurant, I had to partake in a margarita I went with the Pinky -- Dulce Vida Grapefruit Tequila, Naranja, fresh lime juice, and fresh grapefruit juice. Very tasty. Big shoutout to Sasha at the bar super knowledgeable, great vibes, and clearly a fellow GJ foodie with great recommendations. Service has been great all around both times. Solid food, great date night spot, and worth the drive. Just my opinion... don't come at me
