Pleasant enough, they don't believe in tiny portions :-) Not cheap, but very much value for money! I was asked twice if the table was just for you which I noted, but the place was packed to the gunnels ands I had to wait for a little while to be seated. It seems to be about the only place to eat in Eccleston, although there appeared to be an Italian Pizza/Pasta place down the road, I was disinclined to go in as it had no outside menu, and was hiden behind a large hedge. Not very welcoming. The pub however looked much more inviting. The staff looked stressed, and there was a minor squabble in the kitchen as I arrived. It's door is right opposite the main entrance, so there was no avoiding that!
I was disappointed by the lack of Ales (just 4 shown, but one was Boddingtons and another Timothy Taylor so I don't count them), but the one I opted for was ok. They do a promotion on a Tuesday with all real ale £2! I missed out, by one day, dammit!
