I used to enjoy coming here because it was one of the few places where you could grab a beer and shoot some pool. Apparently, that wasn't worth keeping around. Getting rid of the pool tables and selling off half the bar really took away what made this place stand out. On the bright side, they've made it a lot easier for me to spend my money somewhere else. There are plenty of bars that still understand the appeal of having a cold beer and a pool table. Best of luck with the new direction, but I'll be taking my business to places that still cater to people who actually came here to play pool. read more

Natalie brought me my beer expeditiously and very cold. Probably one of the friendliest personable servers I've ever had. I also had the Shrimp PO Boy special which was actually extremely good! Sat out up on the deck which was also awesome. read more

I've been Wednesday nights for trivia several times. The food was pretty quick the first time or two, but now that the terrace is open the wait for food is terribly long. It's good food though, the BLT I got was great when it did arrive. They have rules about team sizes for trivia, but it doesn't seem like they enforce it. It was a little silly to lose to a team with 12 people. I still think you should get points for being the first to answer, but maybe that's just because my team is quick haha. The best part of this place was the rooftop. They have typical bar-food/menu. They only take cash so come prepared. I had the steak philly. The sandwich was really yum. I wish having fries was an option instead of chips. This place is a cool ambiance and fun. I would not call this a destination for food but more the experience. read more

Great local bar with local beers. This was the only place we found with a roof top setting. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide a view of the temples but you get a glimpse of the mountains and will catch the sunset. Big dog beers, 32 oz, seem to be the go to choice. The burgers are good and grilled right there on the rooftop. The grilled is a great guy! Staff is friendly, busy and efficient. There is a awesome pool hall downstairs. read more

Decent food usually, service varies-usually decent, great historic atmosphere. Pool hall straight out of "The Hustler", i keep looking for Jackie Gleason to appear. The bad: High staff turnover, inconsistant service and food. Cliquish regulars control the bar to an extent. Cash only so pay an egregious fee to get cash out of the crappiest ATM machine ive ever seen. Day time is a good time to visit, since the daytime bartender is excellent and consistant. Saying all that, the prices arent bad and the food is usually alright as well, unless you get the new cook trainee of the month. Cant go wrong with the burgers. It had been at least three years since I last went to The White Owl, I see they really cleaned the place up a bit. It's got a brighter, more festive interior than the dingy one I remember. Food was never all that good, but they stepped it up a notch from OK-to-good, when it was usually just OK. Friendly atmosphere, despite the local dive bar reputation. Nice place to hang out, have a beer or a burger. Decent craft beer selection. Pool tables on the roof. I'd give it four stars for the atmosphere, three for the food so I round up to a generous 4 stars. read more

Great space, very open inside with multiple floors and the deck has a beautiful view. It was quite when I was there but it seems like it would be a very popular spot on weekends. Bartender was very sweet but I had to go to the bar to order beer and food. Chili was very good, recommend tortilla chips on the side. read more

Service is very poor. Patio should be redefined as VAPE Area. Prices are same as full service quality restaurants, but you have to go get your burger when it is cooked, fix it at a elbow to elbow condiments bar, grab all your utensils and napkin. Then get asked if you want another beer multiple times before the first one is even half gone. Nope, I won't go back. Pretty grungy and not very clean. read more

I've been on Logan for a week and on my last evening my group decided to shoot some pool. We happened upon the White Owl and decided to give it a shot. Everyone in my group was carded and then it was my turn. I showed my temporary license as well as a photo of my ID which had worked in every establishment in Logan. Attached to it was the receipt I was given when I applied for my CDL which says it's not valid for ID. The doorman didn't say 'Hey this won't work" but rather flipped it over to me for me to read. First, it wasn't my temp ID, it was a receipt. And the temp ID along with a photo of the real one worked everywhere I'd been all week. Second, the guy was making himself out to be far more important than he actually was. He seems the kind of guy who lives at home with his mom and this is the only place he has any authority. Third, when my group (which probably would have grossed another few hundred in revenue) left, he timidly looked out the door to make sure we were outside and not scheming a mutiny. I'm not sure how this dude got his job but if that's their security force I'd hate for anything to happen. Bottom line, because of this guy's complete and total incompetence as well as his hunger for any stitch of authority he could grab cost his establishment a good chunk of the daily bank. And with all the new places in the area this nasty hole in the wall can use every penny they can get. If you want real food and a cool staff walk across the street to Prodigy. read more

When in Logan you don't have a ton of drinking establishments to visit. So go straight to the best and go to the White Owl Upstairs rooftop nice when the weathers warm to enjoy a beer and a great hamburger. Downstairs juke box, pool tables, dart boards and a very friendly crowd of locals and travelers a like all being served by a great bunch of bartenders and servers. There are two old Brunswick snooker tables here, with a full set of snooker balls available. Clean and level.

Man this place was awesome, first of all there's a few bar areas that you can get a drink and be fed, there's the main area when you walk in, a back portion of the building, and the side hall where the pool tables are. So I have to say, the local craft brew was pretty tasty, I had a hefeweizen and was already blown away by the price of a pitcher, even better that the glasses were cold and the beer was colder, so good marks there. I also tried out the Philly sandwich they offered, and all I can say is that its good old fashioned greasy, nasty, bar food. The kind you'd want to eat! The only problem is the bun was a little burnt, but that's fine. There's also a top section for smokers, and if you're social about it you can bring your drinks up there, since there's a counter to have it all held there, go high enough and you can get a nice little view of all the rooftops. The only things I can knock this place for is that the bathroom is a little too cramped, but you know, whatever since its a bar, one that I'm going to come back to if I find myself here again. read more

I have been to this bar many times, always with the same results. The atmosphere here is very uncomfortable. If you have ever been to a bar ouside the cache valley area you will definitely be extremely dissatisfied. Anything less than a 25-30% tip on every drink and the servers will no longer acknowledge you. Which leaves you standing at the bar waving your cash around at the barkeep for the rest of the night. Its ridiculous that its still CASH ONLY. I have been told by former cooks to stay away from the food with horrific stories.I wouldnt recommended going to any bar in this town with the exception of winger's in the mall. But if your set on going out to a bar I think Mulligans on 33 federal avenue is the least shitty that doesnt require a membership. There used to be decent bars in this valley but for some reason only the awful ones stick around. read more

Went for lunch with a friend. Worst service ever. Waitress who was also the bartender took forever to take our order. She spent the whole time we were there visiting with 1 couple ignoring everyone else in the place. After 40 minutes we had to summon her to our table and asked her how much longer our food would take as we were on our lunch break. She seemed put out at the interruption and went to check on our food. Miraculously our food had just come out and she delivered a cold burger which had probably been hot at some point. We ate the cold food and then had to ask for the check and go boxes. She gave the wrong totals on the check and gave back the wrong change. We wont go back read more

I ordered chicken strips and they were raw. Unfortunately, I was too tipsy to notice so I ate a fair amount. When I realized and told the waitress, she was borderline rude to me and just said, "I'll tell the kitchen to be careful cooking the chicken". I had to call her back and essentially argue for a refund. She kept saying they'd only give me $2 back for the chicken but not the fries and onion rings that came with the meal. She didn't seem to realize that the damage done by the chicken was not $2. It was the very real possibility that I'd be sick the next day. It's been 3 hours and I'm already feeling rough. I feel like it's a clear principle not to make a customer pay ANYTHING for a meal that will make them sick. Overall, just a really bad/bizarre customer service experience. read more

The best (and almost only) tavern to drink beers with friends. We love going when the weather is warm and the deck is open. The food is not great (at least for someone like me, who can't eat wheat and is vegetarian), so I try to eat before going out! Has a homey atmosphere in the bar but it falls short in a lot of ways. The beer is alright, but totally forgettable. Quantity does not cover up lack of quality I'm afraid. The waiters/waitresses are attentive but offer up no useful information, give the wrong change half the time, and are constantly impatient. The food is pretty much bar food, no more no less. When my fiancee and I arrived at the bar for the first time, a couple of folks were just on their way out of the bar. They looked hard-bitten and long in the tooth - like something out of Deadwood. Once inside, though, it's just your regular, good old bar. The ribeye steak sandwich was tasty, as was the buffalo burger. The great thing about the bar is that, as a friend put it, "The White Owl gets a great cross-section of local society." He pointed out, "Because it's one of the only bars in town, everyone comes here. You get college kids, local folks, the hard-core alcoholics, people who are just there to watch the game on the big screen... everyone." "Wrap it your damn self" Don't live in Logan but stumbled across this place after a show at the theater next door. First off - no cards accepted, you have to use the atm for cash. Our waiter made my friend and I feel very uncomfortable... I had asked for a burger with no bun but in lettuce as it is a pretty common thing these days... bar or no bar. He rolled his eyes and scoffed "you can wrap it your damn self" and seemed extremely annoyed. A group behind us who came in after got their food first. Really good burgers. I go for the buffalo burger because I've convinced myself it's somehow healthy. Anything fried is a greasy treat. The service is hit and miss and the beer is cold. Beware that the Logan Police often target patrons of this bar for DUI stops. They are also pyscho about ID'ing customers. It's not really the bar's fault but more a symptom of a small town police force being bored. read more

I absolutely LOVE this bar, yes they only sell beer but it's always so crisp and tasty. Just something about this place makes my heart happy, the burgers are the best in town and the spicy pickles! Yeah sometimes the bar maids can have attitudes but honestly no reason to give it a one star, I personally think some other reviews are a little dramatic. We are always looking for good food when we go up to Logan, a couple years back we stumbled upon the White Owl, now we usually end up there. We have had the burger as well as other sandwiches during our recent visits. The latest trip up I got the pastrami and the wife the Reuben. Honestly, not as good as I remembered from previous visits, my sandwich was on the small side, the pastrami dry, served with chips and a bit on the pricey side. Next time I will go for the burger if that isn't what it should be we will probably be looking for a new haunt in Logan. read more
