I love…read moredropping in here from time to time to check out the art work ----ranging from oils to watercolors, photographs, giclee prints, ceramics, jewelry..... it's all there. This is a "gallery" in pure Montana style, not contemporary or rotating exhibitions, but rather a consistent stock of similar western art - often landscape and wildlife art (I think that's basically all Montana's artists do...). The staff is always very friendly, and there is also a custom frame shop upstairs that does a great job and carries limited edition prints if you can't afford an original. All in all a blessing to Helena's art scene!

Oh man, I get lost in this store every time. There's always a rotating selection of locally made…read moregifts and everything you need to please local birds. I usually spend a good chunk of change here every Christmas--there's something for everyone. Plus, the staff are a dream. We saw a tanager in stress a couple blocks down the gulch and gave Birds and Beasleys a call to see what we should do. Within a few minutes, one of the incredible staff members came rushing to help. I love this place.

One day I put a deposit on a piece and then changed my mind sometime later and asked for a refund, store credit or something. Was given 1/2 back. What a debacle. I know this is a small business that took a hit with COVID and truly offers beauty to Helena, But - I still have not been fully refunded/credited and it seems somehow that it is my fault. I do not have this problem with any other vendor in Montana. Something is off. Just do not plan on changing your mind. Because there is no return policy. I'm very disappointed for such a high end gallery to have this lingering problem. I've sought out other galleries.

He actually had the nerve to ask if I wanted to leave my picture there for later. Are you kidding me?!?! I will never be back. Don't waste your time, or his apparently. I have experienced some poor service, but this one takes the cake.

There are really expansive grounds that visitors can walk with broken remnants of sculpture that strangely all blends into the beautiful mountains. There are surprising finds everywhere - large kilns that are being rehabilitated, a small store that sells the clay they make. Lots of artist studios that are in partnership with the nature surrounding it. We picked up some beautiful mugs (about $50 each) and a lovely planter (about the same).

I think my first ceramics were pre-glazed celadon in the S. Korean countryside in 1994! Let's just say I started young. I came out to Helena to actually hit a spa and am not an outdoorsy/hike/climb a mountain/camp type. So in advance of coming out for the day from where I was staying further south, I looked on Tripadvisor for local stuff to do and found this awesome place. I didn't get there as early as I'd planned due to some last minute derailment but I did get to spend 40 minutes or so getting a superficial peek, most of which time I spent checkong out the North Gallery. There are large and small pieces, quirky works and mainstream works, edgy words and weird works, delicate country chic and chic modernist works -- all kinds of artisans making all kinds of ceramic. Some really fun stuff to check out, and it's not a paid attraction. Self guided walking tour with a nice pamphlet and some fascinating history. I had no idea but apparently this is THE pre-eminent spot in all of North America to be going to if you want to study or admire ceramics. If I'd only known sooner I would have made an effort to get up there earlier during the week of my stay ... but next time I come to Yellowstone area MT (and MT managed to woo me enough for a next time) I'll fershurz be coming back!
