There is mold growing in the AC unit, the smell of mold is overwhelming. You will have to pay out of pocket for any repairs because the landlord Carolina Suastegui ignores phone calls even with emergencies. We were forced out of this unit due to the dangerous living conditions on top of violence in the area which honestly we could have overlooked if it weren't for the landlord being inconsiderate and never fixing anything. It takes 3 months average of calling her several times a week to get a response. APT 2409 landlord will not uphold the lease agreement either. Forget about your security deposit. The property management are also useless. They ignore any request to help get things fixed in your unit and don't care at all if you have a bad experience living here. Complaints aren't addressed. All in all DO NOT RENT APARTMENT 2409 the LANDLORD IS A THIEF AND LIAR.

They changed a/c unit and clean the duct also. I went on vacation during Christmas and new year. When I came back I found mold around refrigerator and cabinets. I informed the office. I had to wait for Mindy (V's boss) to come back from vacay to make decision because I want to transfer to other room or terminate the contract. Money came back on January 8, 2020. She cannot make decision and passed me to her boss, Sarah. Sarah called me while I was at work. She told me that "it is my responsibility to clean mold in the kitchen just like I clean my bathroom. Mold in the kitchen is common in Southern Florida". I couldn't believe what I heard so I asked all my coworkers if it is common around here to have mold developing in the kitchen? They all said "NO". Sarah refuses to transfer or terminate my contract. Be aware if you are planning to move to this apartment. It is very old and mold could be a big problem. I will record everything and keep fighting until I can get out of this apartment without penalty. I hope Sarah' family (children or grandchildren) doesn't have to go through this problem like me. My fiancé and I have lived on this property for four years. Within the last couple of years we have experienced our vehicles broken into a total of four times. Last month being the most recent. Today being the fifth time we have been violated. Over the last few years, I have seen multiple cars sitting on cinder blocks due to the wheels being stolen, car windows broken, and air bags ripped out and stolen from different vehicles. These are not "isolated cases" as management would like you to believe. Nor does management make these reoccurring situations public to the community that reside at Plantation Colony Apartments. I've asked numerous times if we could have a courtesy officer patrol the community? The answer was "no"...Could we have cameras installed facing the parking lot? I took a short leash on these apartments, they were built in 1987, so they are a bit old and maybe some of them need upgrade, true, but if you are like me, what I love the most about living here is the touch of mother nature it has. There are trees everywhere, the gardening area looks pristine, and they do a pretty good job of keeping it that way. The management team does a pretty good job of taking care of the needs one has, and I think it speaks volumes, the price of the rent there is a bit high and the system has raised the price automatically based on market % price, but so is pretty much everything nowadays, so it is not the fault of the management team, they can only control what they can control, and for my experience, they do a pretty good job at that, especially Javier who was so nice and professional with us for our time being there. If you are looking for a decent place, in touch with nature, peaceful and quiet these are the apartments for you. They have a nice pool and pool area, a jacuzzi and a nice little fitness room. BBQ grilling area as well, and more importantly, the folks that live there are mostly nice and friendly. It is also dog friendly; they have dog garbage cans for waste disposal and a sprinkler system that if you're walking a night will surprise you. Now, all of it was not perfect, they do have issues with the garbage disposal, sometimes it does get backed and there is garbage right outside creating a bad smell, but they jump on it quickly to solve the problem. Also, the gate coming in works on and off, that must be addressed. Overall, I'd say a 4.8-star rating, my wife and I could not have asked for a better place to move in while our home was being built, the management team of Javier got a 5-star rating and our gratitude.

There is also an outdoor sauna house (with separate rooms for males and females) just in case Florida is not hot enough for you on its own. There is also an outdoor open air shower. Although I have not done it myself yet, you can also barbecue in the pool area provided you bring the food and your appetite. This club hosts many events and shows, as well as has classes of various types and free weekly movies on Thursdays at 1 and 7 PM. This year alone I attended various shows and had an absolutely wonderful time at each and every event. They are very good at scheduling a variety of musical acts and comedians. This year we attended a Purim party and did not know quite what to expect but we all had an absolute ball. Last but not least, the club house has a huge billards/pool area with an unbelievable amount of pool tables and a few ping pong tables as well. I know they have an active pool club and offer to teach newbies how to play. They also host a lending library where you can drop off or pick up books of your choice at any time. In addition, there is a small but reasonably adequate gym for those who want to use it. If you want to get a decent workout in, you can do it here. There is an indoor eating room which can be used by everyone from individuals to small, or large group of people.
