When I picked up my dog, I noticed he was scratching a lot so I decided to give him a quick rinse and he was covered in fleas. Ellen does not clean between walk ins and other pets so it's only a matter of time before something like this happens. I didn't want to upset Ellen (we all know how hard it is finding a dog groomer in Toronto) so I didn't mention the cat but, when I walked in an hour later (unexpectedly) Ellen was doing another 2 nail cutting walk ins!!! I don't know any business that charges $80 an hour- yes my dog was there for over an hour but minus the 3 walk ins I saw and some I might have missed, she makes it appear she's working on your dog for a while but she's actually making your pet wait. Very sneaky Ellen but I see you!! After the fleas, walk ins and a totally uneven hair cut, I will not be back.

Now we don't worry if we want to go away, because we know our cats will be well taken care of while we're gone. Her service area borders on Woodbine to the west, Eglinton to the north (in Scarborough) and Guildwood Village to the east.

Debra and Dave were soooo nice and I could tell they really cared about our cats. The best part is that the cats have been super affectionate since their cuts, like it was such a relief to get rid of all that fur. My female cat in particular is very skittish...I was expecting her to hide under our bathtub for a couple days after we got home (like she does when we take her to the vet) but she was rolling around on her back, being frisky and following us around all night. I thought this would be a one-time thing until I could start resuming my daily vacuuming routine again, but based on how much my cats seem to love their new haircuts, we'll definitely be back. (Just a reminder -- if you ever let your cat outdoors...which you shouldn't, but if you do...please don't ever shave them. Their fur protects them against the sun and elements. My cats are never let outside.)

There are all in one raw food meals that are ready to serve, packages that only have a certain meat for supplementary feeding, and even eggs! I saw frozen duck and quail eggs for a really good price. $4 for 18 quail eggs! Cheaper than what you would get at the grocery store. They do sell fish, small mammals (only saw hamsters and nice), and some reptiles. I didn't see any birds on my visit. They have cats that you can adopt and those are located at the front of the store, away from the animals that can be purchased. As with all other PetSmart's, dogs are welcome in the store.

I trust Mike implicitly with access to my house (where I am still very slowly moving in) and have credit cards and the like all over the place. Second, since dogs have "business" to do outside it's very important that your dog walker is reliable. My dog will have her bladder burst rather than going in the house. I know I can trust Mike to not only take appointments when I need them but that can be relied upon to show up. He also will give a walk report to you in text letting you know if your dog eliminated and how things went in general. He has never once missed a walk and he is great about taking on extra walks on short notice. Moreover the prices compared to the rest of the market are really great. My dog is a problem dog and Mike gives off a confident energy that I know I can trust if problems should arise. It is clear just from the way his energy is that he knows dogs. That's a really hippy thing to say but having known dog trainers and walkers over the years there's a certain presence and Mike has it. He has also been kind enough to bring up dog food delivered to my porch free of charge which I truly appreciate. That is not his job. Recently when I was away on a trip he even boarded her free of charge as he noticed she was destroying my house while I was away. I honestly can't say enough good things about Good Boys. UPDATE: MY DOG IS FIXED! I have spent thousands (literally) on many different dog trainers over the years trying to fix my dog's severe anxiety aggression. For years she was unable to interact with other dogs without someone(s) going to the vet or humans (me and others) going to the hospital. Now with Mike's help, she's totally fine. One is lazy but wary of human strangers while the other is high energy and moderately dog aggressive, but both of them loved Michael immediately. Not only does he balance the needs/capacity of our two very different dogs, he somehow managed to socialize our trouble child with other dogs and sent us pictures to prove it! He successfully took them for pack walks; I wouldn't have believed it unless I'd seen it with my own eyes. Michael is amazing! He's responds quickly to text messages and is flexible with re-schedule/adding walks. He's even thoughtful and kind enough to bring in packages from our doorstep if anything's been delivered during the day. Knowing that he's fully bonded & insured made the choice a no-brainer. Handing over your house keys to a complete stranger can be difficult, so knowing that Michael is fully covered is icing on the cake. He has a flexible payment schedule and accepts eTransfers.
