The entrance is small, and across from some sort of loading bay or something. But worth stopping in. Once inside, the space opens up and is very welcoming. I ordered the green eggs on toast, and it was delicious (the sausages are an add-on, and in hindsight was unnecessary). The poach was perfect, and that green sauce is divine! But... I hope you brought some dental floss or a toothpick, because you will surely have embarrassing green bits stuck in your teeth otherwise. Top quality brekkie! The OJ tasted fresh with bits of pulp in it (although they do pour it from a jug in their fridge) and the latte is of a good quality. Not busy on a Monday morning. Staff friendly, and chatty with some of the delivery people, who I assume they see on a regular basis. If in Belfast for an extended period of time, would not hesitate to dine here again.

There was a great selection of savory and sweet. I had poached eggs on sourdough. My friend had the French Toast, and it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. There was fuzzy stuff on the French toast that looked like asbestos or fiberglass. It was not, it was soft and sweet, but it sure looked odd. The poached eggs on sourdough with pesto was amazing. I also got a side of bacon. It was perfection. There is a cool little shop too. If I am back in Belfast, I'll be sure to stop back.

We hopped on Yelp and saw that French Village was just down the street, so we just walked on over. For a Saturday morning it was quite busy, but we were lucky to get a table for 4 people right away. They have a pretty standard breakfast menu with your typical french toast, pancakes, bagel, hash, scrambled eggs, etc. Between the four of us, we pretty much ordered the whole menu, which was great because that means I got to try a bit of everything. For myself I ordered the bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. It was good, but I don't think it was exactly what I was feeling that morning. I really enjoyed bites of their raspberry & white chocolate pancakes and frech toast though. I'd definitely recommend that if you've got a sweet tooth. On top of that, we got an assortment of different coffees and smoothies at our table. I went for a soy milk latte for myself and a strawberry banana smoothie. Both hit the spot perfectly. Service was a little spotty. Our waters were never really refilled (and on a hungover morning, endless water is a necessity), and our server looked a bit angry to be there. The manager came around to see how everything was doing though, which was great! They have a bakery on the other side of the restaurant (where you go to pay), and have an assortment of macarons, muffins, and other baked goods. Before we left, we got a small box of macarons to share and they were lovely! I can't remember all the flavours we got, but everything I tried was delicious. If you're in the University area, definitely a good spot to check out for a nice breakfast.

We got there first and we really only had a double espresso and croissant each. Both were very good indeed. Our companions arrived and ordered coffees too. They surprised us as we went to pay - they picked up the tab, decent of them so I can't report the cost. It's quite a large place once inside, and as we walked in at a front counter we were right next to a display of their rather expensive pastries and they looked delicious. The seats were comfy and the staff were a friendly bunch and they were super efficient. This place is on Belfast's Lisburn road, and although we had arrived just before 11am on a Monday morning we found on street pay car parking space very challenging to find indeed. I keep reminding myself that we are supposed to be in austerity yet the coffee bars are full and on street parking is at an expensive premium - seems austerity is only for the poorest and hammering down on our public services like the NHS, education and on and on. Think I'd rather pay fair taxation. It's become a much crazier world. As I write I hear Mr Trump on the radio claim he hasn't a racist bone in his body. I never thought I'd agree with him; he hasn't. The racism is evidently in his brain alone.

So I got a pre-packed sandwich instead which they heated on site. Still tasted great but I will have to go to botanic if I want to make up my own salad or sandwich for takeaway. Decided to try here and sit in this time (for lunch). Decor is lovely and the restaurant is more spacious than the other store. They have a small menu but also offer daily specials and separate vegetarian menu. One of the specials offered was a rare beef sourdough sandwich served with fries and hot sauce. Although the sandwich was tasty and a lite messy due to the coleslaw and rocket the beef was not rare. There was also quite a bit of fat around the edges of the beef. Opted for a watercess, feta, beetroot and quinoa Salad as a side order. For 3.50 this salad was huge but a bit salty. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert but took a look at all the lovely treats on offer for future reference. Great to see they are licensed as well, I will be back to try out the dinner menu along with some cocktails.

I went in here to get a quick bite and whip my laptop out. The decor is comfortable and there's plenty of space, so it's good for working. Yesterday I went fro their sandwich special which was The New Yorker. Although it was obviously pre made it still filled a whole and only cost £3.50. You'll struggle to get a cheaper lunch in Botanic. The staff were great - really attentive and polite - In terms of service it was excellent. They serve you at your table so there's no need to go to the counter. All in all if you're familiar with the Clements brand then you'll know what to expect. Nothing special but nothing disastrous either. A solid 3 stars.

Yes the leather seats may have you sitting at a weird angle due to wear, but it is still popular despite the local competition. While waiting for a meeting I enjoyed a little coffee there today. One of the highlights of this place for me is the people-watching. Students and business types, parents and first-daters are all here and the buzz is enough to distract from the serving of a latte in a tall thin glass. This is a pet peeve, mainly because I can be a spilly lady, but to kill time and watch the world go by, I'll overlook it.
