There's a convenient path to walk from the lot to the school. 2) I was here for the Naperville Winter Ale fest and they were able to partner with the school for parking which was great. The park area is a really good size with a decent parking lot as well. The ale fest took place in the parking lot and there was tons of room for over 200 vendors, tents, food trucks, a fire pit and more. Frontier is set back behind the school and businesses over on 95th & 59, which is great because there on convenient businesses near by, but not on top of the park. There are all the amenities a good park should have: - Playground - Basketball - Softball - Backstop - Bocce Ball - Multi Purpose Field - Trails - Picnic Shelter - Parking - Restrooms - Skate Park I highly suggest it!

How dare you have people wait for your slow behinds!! it was extremely hot and very inconveniencing to your patrons. And to make matters worse we didn't even get offered a discount for our inconvenience!! If offered a discount it would have at Least showed you had some professionalism but alas you didn't. Had you shown just an ounce of professionalism I would have possibly considered giving you another try. I wouldn't recommend Whalon Lake Kayak rental to my dog. Keep an eye on the little ones, because that big kid area is awfully appealing and it would be easy for a little kid to fall from higher heights. Lots of running around room and there are many benches for the adults to sit on. The "lake" is protected by a flimsy fence, probably to keep the kids from feeding the geese.

Not until we saw the campsites. We found picnic tables rotted and broken. No pads to park except where the yearly rentals were. Closed restrooms unprepared sites, long grass and weeds, limbs and terrible ruts in the road. No assigned sites, just told to pick one, except told where we couldn't camp (evidently saved for long term rentals. The rest rooms that were open were filthy. Will not be visiting again. Two out of stars is being generous. Maybe use the extra 5 bucks on some cleaning agents and lawnmower gas.

This is a very well-maintained forest preserve and Plainfield Park District cares a lot about maintaining the area. The ONLY downside is that I can't visit here from about June until early August because the mosquitos are plentiful, which is to be expected in a rather damp forest. I've seen owls, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and deer here.
